EM-2 Infinity Rifle

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept on a standard weapons rack whilst facing in the right-side-up position (horizontal). It appears that if the weapon were to be rested vertically for 5 minutes, that the weapon would start firing on its own, and the temperature of the magazine (SCP-XXXX-A) would reach [DATA EXPUNGED] Kelvin, however, the rest of SCP-XXXX would remain at normal temperatures.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an EM-2 experimental assault rifle developed by the United Kingdom's Military. It has a weight of 3.49 kg and a length of approximately 35 inches. SCP-XXXX is made of metal, wood, and iron, however, the handguard of SCP-XXXX is made of an unknown material, presumably to be a mixture of ████████ and wood. SCP-XXXX-A is made up of the same material, however, retains the appearance of ████████ unlike the handguard.

The Weapons Department (located at site 62) volunteered to perform tests with SCP-XXXX approved by Site Director) to figure out the logistics of this weapon and uncover any more anomalous properties. These tests were performed by Nine-Tailed Fox solider "Corporal ██████".

Side Note: Upon beginning the accuracy test for Test #1, Corporal ██████ flicked the safety feature of SCP-XXXX, which caused a slight beam of light to radiate from the magazine (comparable to a camera flash) whilst emitting a noise which sounded like an anomalous gateway opening up, and sent a small burst of heat around the room. Corporal ██████ was asked to remove SCP-XXXX-A from the mag well. Upon compliance, the noise emitted by SCP-XXXX-A ceased. Inspection of the internals of SCP-XXXX-A shows no ammunition stored inside the weapon. Upon re-insertion, SCP-XXXX-A repeated the behavior.

Test 1 - Accuracy: Corporal ██████ is aiming at the center of one of the bullseye targets, and upon firing, SCP-XXXX hits the bullseye perfectly. As Corporal ██████ looks towards the researches observing him, SCP-XXXX fired another round in its own free will, hitting the bullseye again, however, Corporal ██████ finger was off the trigger during this. Corporal ██████ was then asked to shoot another target for reconstructed data, and as soon the researcher finished giving instructions, the weapon fired immediately to a new target. Corporal ██████ then commented, "I was going to go for that target." Researchers have then discovered that the user who wields SCP-XXXX can use their minds (consciously or sub-consciously) to direct SCP-XXXX's line of fire with flawless accuracy. Researchers then asked Corporal ██████ to fire at a target behind a titanium, block which was 5.5 inches tall with a width of 5.5 inches. Corporal ██████ fired one round, hitting the target behind the Titanium Wall, penetrating right through it. Studies show that the hole made in the Titanium Wall has no internal cracking, and appears to have been reconstructed to let the bullet pass through. The hole in the wall sealed back to its original state 3 minutes later.

Test 2 - Stability: Corporal ██████ decided to switch SCP-XXXX into its fully-automatic mode. At which point, SCP-XXXX-A emitted another white flash, and the noise from earlier got deeper. Corporal ██████ was then told to begin firing. He complies. Corporal ██████ holds down the trigger, and the fire-rate of SCP-XXXX is the same as a normal, non-anomalous assault rifle. The recoil of SCP-XXXX is very minimal, but to Corporal ██████ who has had extensive firearms training, the rifle does not even move, according to the footage. After firing SCP-XXXX for 10 minutes, Corporal ██████ ceased fire and commented: "Can I stop yet?" Corporal ██████ then decided to remove SCP-XXXX-A from the mag well, and just like before, it is completely unloaded with ammunition.

After Test 2 was conducted, researchers have checked back the footage and slowed down the speed to 50,000 frames per second to try and see what projectile was being fired out of SCP-XXXX. The footage shows multiple types of cartridges, chambering from .30-06 (Thirty-Aught-Six), .223, .45, .50BMG, and even 00 Buckshot pellets. Some of this ammunition even dated back to the first World War. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX manifests this ammunition, but theories have stated that the noises inside of SCP-XXXX-A might be a small gateway opening up, and collecting ammunition from other dimensions, or by the means of time-travel.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX was recovered by former British Army lieutenant "Harry ███████" while he was searching an abandoned weapons cache in Hethel Air Base in Norfolk. Lieutenant Harry recovered SCP-XXXX and held it in the vertical position when returning to his transport when suddenly the weapon started firing erratically, causing Lieutenant Harry to drop SCP-XXXX and run to cover. Weapon ceased fire immediately. SCP-XXXX-A was rested upon █████ and managed to burn through it like acid. British Army Forces notified the SCP-Foundation, and SCP-XXXX was transported to Site 62's "Weapons Department."
