Item #: SCP-3863
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3863 to be contained in a standard anomalous items locker. Once a day SCP-3863 is to be used by a nonviolent D-class using elbow length medical gloves to produce at minimum one art project utilizing at least two variances of color. Each project can be made with any quality paper but must be at minimum 22x28 centimeters. The projects cannot contain any imagery intended to display violent or sexual acts.
Failure to follow the instructions detailed above will result in the death of the operating D-class personnel or SCP-3863 will auto relocate to nearby populated areas through some means of teleportation.
Description: SCP-3863 is six generic bottles with no brand label each containing a different color of SCP-3863-1. Instances of SCP-3863-1 when on the human skin will continue to spread and replicate each time the affected individual or others try to wipe or wash it away. The rate of spreading and replication dramatically increases as removal is attempted. Once SCP-3863-1 reaches approximately 40% surface coverage the glitter will start appearing internally beginning with the eyes and mouth, then shortly after with continued resistance in the stomach and lungs resulting in death by asphyxiation. Even after death, the glitter will continue to replicate for around 30 minutes before becoming innate.
Each instance of SCP-3863 will produce SCP-3863-1 as it is used.
Other personnel attempting to assist in the removal of SCP-3863-1 will be affected by the SCP-3863-1 at the same rate as the initial victim regardless of their resistance or not.
No safe method to remove SCP-3863-1 has been discovered. Any further testing is to only be conducted by D-Class personnel.
The glitter left behind after 30 minutes of the afflicted individual's death is effectively regular glitter with no anomalous qualities.
Recovery: SCP-3863 was located by SCP personal on (04/09/2006) in ██████ Indiana at the house of the Jamison family. Neighboring residents reported a terrible smell coming from the Jamison household to local authorities. The Jamison family was dead in piles of assorted glitters. The location was filled with partially deflated balloons and open birthday presents labeled ‘to Jonny our little artist, from: mom and dad'. The glitter was apparently acquired from an unknown sources to be a gift for the youngest child. The cause of death in all victims was asphyxiation by massive amounts of glitter blocking the airway. Autopsies of each member of the Jamison family revealed glitter throughout all internal organs and even inside their veins.
Responding officers and neighbors were administered Class A amnestics and released.
