Item #: SCP-3397
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3397 is to be contained in a standard containment cell. No camera equipment or recording devices are allowed within SCP-3397’s containment cell SCP-3397 is to be contained in an anechoic chamber no more than 5 meters in length at Site-██. No other SCPs are to be contained at this site for fear of potential breaches. No fewer than two CCTV cameras that do not record sound are to be mounted on the walls of SCP-3397’s containment chamber. No personnel are allowed to enter SCP-3397’s containment cell without approval from personnel with level 3 or higher security clearance. Anyone who enters SCP-3397’s containment cell must be blindfolded and wearing noise cancelling headphones or earplugs. Any individual who hears voice of SCP-3397-1 is to be immediately sedated and given class A amnestics.
SCP-3397-1 and SCP-3397-2 are not to be separated at any time. Any person who attempts to separate SCP-3397-1 and SCP-3397-2 are to be detained, interrogated, and given class A amnestics. In the event of a separation of both entities, they must be reunited within ten minutes. If separation occurs for more than ten minutes, Procedure-66-Zilen is to be enacted.
Procedure-66-Zilen requires that all personnel be evacuated to avoid casualties. Unmanned drones are to attempt destroy all barriers separating SCP-3397-1 and SCP-3397-2 to allow for their reunion. Following their reunion, both entities are to be taken to a backup containment cell █ miles away while a new containment cell is constructed at the original Site if it is damaged
Description: SCP-3397 is a pair of stuffed animals consisting of one penguin, designated SCP-3397-1, and one dog resembling a golden retriever, designated SCP-3397-2. Both entities appear to be sentient, and play with each other when no other person or animal is in the room with them. SCP-3397-1 is able to speak despite having no larynx or analogous organ. SCP-3397-1 refers to itself “Buddy” and SCP-3397-2 as “Patches”. Any human who hears SCP-3397-1’s voice will have a great desire to meet SCP-3397-1 in person, and will attempt to enter its cell. Any person who views SCP-3397-1’s face will experience a steady rise in temperature in their heart. Approximately 2-3 minutes after viewing SCP-3397-1’s face, the viewers heart will melt, damaging other parts of their body. Nothing has been found to slow or cease this process and it has a 100% fatality rate. This process will only occur when a viewer sees SCP-3397-1’s face in person, and not in photos, artistic depictions, CCTV footage, etc.
Other anomalous properties occur when SCP-3397-1 and SCP-3397-2 are involuntarily separated by a solid barrier such as a wall, or by a minimum of 5 meters in any direction. If the separation lasts longer than ten minutes, SCP-3397-1 will create a high pitched screech until it is reunited with SCP-3397-2. The screech causes inanimate objects near SCP-3397-1 to shake, collapse, or move at speeds exceeding 100 km/h. Moving objects are usually targeted at walls or doors to create a path to SCP-3397-2. During any separation, SCP-3397-2 will look directly at SCP-3397-1’s position, regardless of how far both entities are away from each other. After ten minutes of separation, SCP-3397-2 will begin to emit radiation that increases in power until it is reunited with SCP-3397-1. The radiation leads to a rapid decay of walls and doors to create a path to SCP-3397-1. The emission of radiation and the screeching cease when SCP-3397-1 and SCP-3397-2 are brought back together.]
Addendum 3397-A: [SCP-3397 was recovered from █████, NY on ██/██/████ following multiple reports of partially melted bodies. SCP-3397-1 and SCP-3397-2 were found playing in a children’s playground, surrounded by several deceased children and their parents. During recovery, several personnel were killed by looking at SCP-3397-1’s face.
Addendum 3397-B: SCP-3397 was reclassified as Keter following Incident 3397-1 and was moved to Site-██
Incident 3397-1: During routine testing of SCP-3397, a separation occurred as a result of testing personnel failing to properly follow containment procedures. The separation lasted for a total of 37 minutes. As a result, ██ personnel were killed, and █ SCP’s escaped containment, all of which were contained within three days. SCP-3397 has its own containment facility to prevent potential breaches of dangerous SCP’s. All testing has been postponed since this incident.
