SCP-XXXX displaying a variety of tools after a containment breach at Site-██
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel (after Addendum A)
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be deactivated without a power source until further investigation into the origin and original purpose of SCP-XXXX can be determined. No personnel are designated to operate SCP-XXXX unless authorized by O-5 Command and any person found in proximity to the 4m x 4m x 4m SCP holding cell will be terminated accordingly.
SCP-XXXX is to be activated and told to recontain rogue SCPs in the event of a containment breach scenario, otherwise to be stored in a suitable room only to be accessed by level 4 and higher personnel in Site-██ where it will remain until otherwise needed. O-5 Command is the only personnel that should determine whether SCP-XXXX should be active around the facility or not.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a hovering spherical robot 1m in diameter comprised of stainless steel with a variety of different gadgets to assist in it's tasks that it has been assigned to through a terminal. Limited speech recognition capabilities have been shown, but tasks will not be carried out if spoken to. Tasks can only be given through the terminal. It has a chamber on the back that is able to take any form of battery and generate what has been calculated by facility scientists to be somewhere from 10x to 1014x the rating of the original power source. Currently, regular dry cell batteries have been determined to have the greatest increase on SCP-XXXX's power level with 9 cell batteries following. SCP-XXXX can be deactivated through a number of commands entered into it's terminal, including but not limited to:
TURN OFF
POWER OFF
DEACTIVATE
TERMINATE TASK
OFF
0 (binary for off as opposed to 1 which is on)
When SCP-XXXX is deactivated, it will continue to hover, but make no attempts to stop itself from being altered in position in the X or Y direction. It will only return to the original height of 1m above the ground after being altered in the Z direction. Attempts to drop the robot from different heights resulted in SCP-XXXX stopping at 1m using appropriate amounts of thrust according to the velocity at which it was travelling (See Test 1A). SCP-XXXX will adjust it's location in the X, Y, and Z direction according to what it requires for it's task. Tests to reveal how fast SCP-XXXX can travel have come with no conclusion, as SCP-XXXX has demonstrated speeds according to the relative urgency. (See Test 1B)
SCP-XXXX seems to respond autonomously to commands in any language and dialect including binary. SCP-XXXX uses a text-to-speech engine in it's terminal to speak as needed. In addition to this SCP-XXXX can retract and replace tools as necessary for it's task through rubber grommets that increase and decrease in size to accommodate larger or smaller tools. Connecting these objects to SCP-XXXX is a bendable aluminum layer covering the number of electronics beneath it that make the different tools function. Unknown still is the manner in which SCP-XXXX gains these tools.
Addendum A:
Acting supervisor: Dr. ██████ ████
Log description: On ██-██-████, facility staff carried out tests to determine the properties of SCP-XXXX including it's limits, origin, consiousness and self preservation.
Test 1A
Subject: D-████ and SCP-XXXX
Procedure: D-████ drops SCP-XXXX from a height of 25m as well as 50m.
Results: SCP-XXXX propels itself accordingly with the velocity it is traveling at such that it stops at roughly 1m.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX is capable of simple autonomous damage prevention without human intervention.
Test 1B
Subject: D-████1 and SCP-XXXX
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-2 enters commands into SCP-XXXX. These include: "get me a coffee" and "terminate SCP-████".
Results: SCP-XXXX asked for additional details like the type and amount of coffee. SCP-XXXX returned with an 8oz cup of coffee for SCP-XXXX-2 approx. █:██ after entering the command with an average velocity of 1.5 m/s. When "terminate SCP-████" was entered, SCP-XXXX was observed travelling with a peak velocity of around 10 m/s on straight hallways and did not seem to be hindered by metal doors, simply opening them. SCP-████'s containment chamber is ~150m away from the original position of SCP-XXXX. Security personnel at Site-██ reported that SCP-XXXX had breached SCP-████'s containment chamber using a high power plasma torch and was beginning to inject [REDACTED] into it. MTF were contacted, and SCP-XXXX was deactivated. SCP-████ was compensated for the damage.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX has a lack of regard for obstacles while completing it's path. But it seems the relative urgency affects the rate at which the task is completed. The acid that SCP-XXXX was injecting seems to be familiar to humans though… and it is the strongest acid known to man. Facility Researchers have suggested that SCP-XXXX can only produce the strongest conceptual or real things known to man, with a disregard as to how much work it would take to make or carry out. It's almost like it has it's own chemistry lab in there.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: D-████, with Dr. ██████ ████ listening behind one-way glass.
Foreword: Investigation into SCP-XXXX's origin.
<Begin Log>
Interviewer: Where do you originate from?
SCP-XXXX: Loading data packet…COMPLETE
SCP-XXXX: ADMIN APPROVAL REQUIRED
NOTE: Interview is delayed as Dr. ██████ ████ motions for an IT expert to enter the room and provide a solution.
SCP-XXXX: [SCP-XXXX plays a WAV file of a man estimated to be in his late twenties to early thirties, and a distinctly Scottish accent]
Unknown Man: Good morning! I am right now one of the top unrecognized scientists in the world that has gone uncredited for years. This is my big [expletive] you to the world. Soon I will execute a single command on my creation that might possibly kill me and my entire career. Maybe I'm a bit crazy. But I'm only doing what I need to get the recognition I deserve. This little robot can do unimaginable things and might even be the downfall of humanity. Not even John Wick could do the things this drone can do with insane precision and accuracy.
Interviewer: Well, that's your answer right there. And your motive.
Dr. ██████ ████ through an earpiece to D-████: Continue.
Interviewer: D-████ sighs. Are you capable of conscious thought?
SCP-XXXX: Loading data packet…COMPLETE
SCP-XXXX: Capable of self defense. Capable of damage prevention. Not capable of thought other than answers.
Interviewer: Is this what you need? Can I go back now?
Dr. ██████ ████ through an earpiece to D-████: I suppose. We have all we need for now.
Dr. ██████ ████ off to the side: That was easier than expected. Usually these things will break everything in the facility before we can end our questioning. SCP-XXXX might actually be useful to the facilities' breaches.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX was deactivated and put back into it's holding cell. This interview will be forwarded to O-5 Command to determine the object class of SCP-XXXX after the information we have gained from this interview.
