Item #: SCP-XXXX
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3 are to be kept closed and stored in a locked box. They are not to be used without site approval.
SCP-XXXX is to be kept closed on a pedestal in a sound-proof room. No one is authorized to enter its room except for Protocol MSC-1, and it must be monitored by camera with no audio feed. SCP-XXXX is not to be used without permission from the O5 council.
SCP-XXXX-B through SCP-XXXX-E are to be kept in individual cells, and must not be allowed to hear or be in the same room as SCP-XXXX. They are to be regularly monitored, but must remain in their cells unless given permission from the O5 council except for Protocol MSC-2.
Description:
SCP-XXXX has 3 "Copies" of its consciousness that are known of by the foundation, and are all currently contained. They are listed as SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3. SCP-XXXX also has 5 "Creations" that are known of by the foundation, and 4 of which are currently contained. They are listed as SCP-XXXX-A through SCP-XXXX-E.
SCP-XXXX's "Creations" are capable of acting independently of SCP-XXXX, and can become difficult to contain. Uncontrolled "Creations" may pose a very high level of danger should they be able to contact SCP-XXXX-A, any other unknown "Creations", or any subject under the effects of SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3 or any other unknown "Copies".
Note that although SCP-XXXX-3 is the last of the 3 "Copies" objects to be found it is believed that there may be more out in the world that the organization has yet to have found. The foundation has also decided that SCP-XXXX and its "Creations" are not to be allowed to create any more artificial consciousness "Copies" until further notice.
SCP-XXXX-1:
Object Class: Safe
SCP-XXXX-1 is a copy of Cognitive Psychology: A Student's Handbook 7th Edition. The textbook is in an almost pristine condition, but can be damaged like any regular book. In the margins of the pages are notes written in an unknown, undecipherable language in dark red ink.
When reading the book test subjects experience what they describe as a voice in their head that reads the unknown notes to them. The notes appear to be corrections and added information to the book based on knowledge beyond that of current humanity. Reading the textbook gives the reader a better understanding of human cognitive psychology than the world's leading experts.
Test subjects also state that the more they read the book the more the voice will speak to them about things other than what is written in the textbook. Subjects who have read the entire book even state that they can hold back and forth conversations with the voice at all times, even while SCP-XXXX-1 is not present. It is through this conversation that SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3 were discovered.
Subjects have explained that the voice is a copy of an artificial consciousness that is written into the book. Through some method the writing in the textbook is capable of reorganizing and rewriting the reader's brain in order for the artificial consciousness to reside in a sort of symbiotic relationship with the reader's own mind.
SCP-XXXX-2:
Object Class: Safe
SCP-XXXX-2 is a copy of Atlas of Human Anatomy (Netter Basic Science) 7th Edition. The textbook is in a very good condition, but can be damaged like any regular book. Like SCP-XXXX-1, in the margins of the pages are notes written in an unknown, undecipherable language in dark red ink.
Also like SCP-XXXX-1, the notes appear to be corrections and added information to the book based on knowledge beyond that of current humanity. Reading the textbook gives the reader a better understanding of human anatomy than the world's leading experts.
Unlike SCP-XXXX-1, reading SCP-XXXX-2 alone will not allow the reader to understand the added notes. The reader must have already read and acquired the artificial consciousness from SCP-XXXX-1 in order to hear the voice for SCP-XXXX-2, and test subjects describe it as an added personality to the artificial consciousness.
SCP-XXXX-3:
Object Class: Safe
SCP-XXXX-3 is a copy of Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry 7th Edition. The textbook is in an almost pristine condition, but can be damaged like any regular book. Like SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, in the margins of the pages are notes written in an unknown, undecipherable language in dark red ink.
Also like SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, the notes appear to be corrections and added information to the book based on knowledge beyond that of current humanity. Reading the textbook gives the reader a better understanding of biochemistry than the world's leading experts.
Like SCP-XXXX-2, reading SCP-XXXX-3 alone will not allow the reader to understand the added notes. The reader must have already read and acquired the artificial consciousness from SCP-XXXX-1 in order to hear the voice for SCP-XXXX-3, and test subjects describe it as another added personality to the artificial consciousness. Readers do not have to read SCP-XXXX-2 in order to read SCP-XXXX-3.
SCP-XXXX:
Object Class: Euclid
SCP-XXXX is a skin bound book written entirely in the unknown, undecipherable language found in SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3. The skin, paper, and ink of the book are all organically made, but were not made from any known plants or animals. The book appears to be alive; being able to speak and heal any damage it receives. SCP-XXXX does not appear to require any form of "food" to "live", and it is hypothesized that the book can synthesize the needed organic matter from compounds in the air through some unknown method. It is unknown at this point when SCP-XXXX was written.
SCP-XXXX has an artificial consciousness written into its pages from which SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3 are copied from. SCP-XXXX contains knowledge of the life sciences beyond that of current humanity.
It will alter the brain of anyone or anything that listen's to it speak in order for them to be able to read its text. However, unlike SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3, SCP-XXXX has yet to make any attempts to reorganize and rewrite any reader's brain in order for the artificial consciousness to reside in a symbiotic relationship with them. SCP-XXXX claims that human brains are too limited to be able to transfer even half of its knowledge into without killing the subject, but that allowing them the ability to read its text is more beneficial than speaking it to them.
Although SCP-XXXX has never declared any intentions to harm or control living creatures, its abilities- as evident from SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-3 and SCP-XXXX-B through SCP-XXXX-E, suggest it is more than capable of doing so. SCP-XXXX has also not revealed what its purpose or intentions are, but that it always has and always will be highly influential to all living creatures. The book also becomes very hostile when it is hidden from view or placed in a small space, thus it must be contained on display.
SCP-XXXX-A:
Object Class: Euclid
Not much is known about SCP-XXXX-A. Its existence is only known through what SCP-XXXX has stated. It is not known what or who SCP-XXXX-A looks like, or where it is. SCP-XXXX has stated that it is the oldest one of the book's "Creations" still alive, and that it was the one that carried SCP-XXXX around before the book was contained by the foundation. However, SCP-XXXX has stated that there are hundreds more that came before it that have since "died" simply because the book willed them to.
SCP-XXXX-B:
Object Class: Euclid
SCP-XXXX-B is a 72 Kg male German Sheperd that is 1.5 meters tall. No other physical abnormalities can be seen other than its large size and weight. It is capable of human speech, although it rarely chooses to speak. SCP-XXXX has stated that SCP-XXXX-B is the "Creation" it commanded to create SCP-XXXX-1. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX created SCP-XXXX-B.
SCP-XXXX-C:
Object Class: Euclid
SCP-XXXX-C is a 15 cm tall humanoid that looks like a wooden puppet. It is capable of moving on its own, but can not speak. It appears to only have a sense of hearing and touch as it does not have a face, but it is capable of echolocation. It shares an especially close relationship with SCP-XXXX-B, and has been seen riding it. SCP-XXXX has stated that it created SCP-XXXX-C from one of its own pages of paper.
SCP-XXXX-D:
Object Class: Euclid
SCP-XXXX-D is a 35 Kg bright red slime mold. The slime mold can either move as a single blob-like mass, or spread itself out as a thin sheet. The slime mold will often spread itself out to cover the entire interior of its holding cell for no apparent purpose. SCP-XXXX has stated that SCP-XXXX-D is the "Creation" it commanded to create both SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-3. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX created SCP-XXXX-D
SCP-XXXX-E:
Object Class: Euclid
SCP-XXXX-E is a 45 cm long albino sea turtle. SCP-XXXX has described SCP-XXXX-E as "unfinished", and that the book has not yet finished improving the sea turtle's intelligence. SCP-XXXX-E appears completely normal to a regular albino sea turtle, and it is hypothesized that it may in fact have been a normal albino sea turtle.
Addendum:
Protocol MSC-1:
In the event that SCP-XXXX attempts to make an escape from its containment site personnel are to first activate the noise-cancelling system, and then enter its room. SCP-XXXX is to then be captured in a box until it can safely be contained again.
Anyone or anything that aids in the book's escape attempts is to be contained at all costs. Any of SCP-XXXX's "Creations" attempting to aid in the escape that are not neutralized by the noise-cancelling system are to be destroyed as soon as possible.
Protocol MSC-2:
In the event that any of SCP-XXXX's "Creations" make attempts to lead the others in an escape independently of SCP-XXXX they are to be captured and destroyed as soon as possible.
