In an attempt to reform the decades old Royal Canadian Mounted Police Occult Service, the Canadian Government authorized the Canadian Occult Service to be formed as a division of the new Canadian Security Intelligence Service in 1985. The service was formed with similar goals of the UIU; utilizing the anomalous, preventing the Soviets from doing the same, and respond to paranormal events in Canada and her territories.
Given the name ''Canadian Occult Suckers'', along with the UIU's ''UIUseless'' by the anomalous community, this was proven wrong when the COS successfully was able to ████████ ████████.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, the COS received large cuts in budget, but was able to retain many employees due to the high number of anomalies in Canada.
Today, the COS works together with the Foundation to keep the knowledge of anomalies a secret, and contain them.
