SCP-1488 in home enclosure.
Item #: SCP-4188
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4188 has been given permission to continue its residence in the capybara enclosure at ████████ Zoo, under the care of keepers █████ and ███████. When anomalous abilities are active, SCP-4188 is to remain in the internal enclosure, kept out of sight of zoo visitors and under watch of cameras provided by the Foundation. Currently, all requests made by SCP-4188 have been declared benign and approved, provided they are also kept out of sight of zoo visitors. SCP-4188 has requested:
- An internet capable laptop with bookmarks to food blog hubs such as ██████████ and █████████████.
- A collection of empty notebooks with floral covers.
- Writing utensils, including 0.5 mechanical pencils and fine line pens.
- Recipe cards colored to permit easy classification.
Description: SCP-4188 is a female of the capybara species, registering at the large end of the size scale at 134cm height by 60cm tall and 90kg. Subject has an exceptionally thick brown coat with grey age streaks. Subject is approximately 6 years old and otherwise a typical physical example of its kind. Answers to the name █████.
Subject’s anomalous abilities appear to be a much heightened form of intelligence and potentially mild forms of telepathy and telekinesis. It has been heard to speak, but its mouth never moves with speech, and shows the ability to write, but has never been seen to do so. All attempts to prove a hoax via observation and camera study have failed.
Subject SCP-4188 was first observed demonstrating its anomalous nature by keeper █████ when it critiqued her lunch and offered suggestions on how to improve.
SCP-4188 appears to have a particular fascination with human cooking. All communication by SCP-4188 has involved either correcting recipes it has read or inventing its own. It especially prefers to write for foods it has not experienced itself, and has an intense fondness for creating meat recipes.
SCP-1488 has produced three cubs during residence at ████████ Zoo. None have shown any demonstrable anomalous abilities
Further testing by assorted researchers during company potlucks have determined SCP-1488’s recipes to be both benign and delicious.
Addendum:
After acquiring clearance permission, SCP-241 and SCP-4188 were placed together in the test kitchen of Site-19. Camera observations show that SCP-4188 was most displeased about being given "a blank book," indicating that SCP-241's ability to create lethal recipes and SCP-4188's ability to correct recipes cancel each other.
