Genre: Drama/Emotional

Elevator Pitch: Two people who are deeply in love. However, whenever they make physical contact, it spurs their surroundings (living and nonliving) to drive them apart. This effect grows increasingly destructive the longer they are together. This does not wind down until they are at least a kilometer away from each other OR are unable to communicate. Once separated, they are rendered completely average people and are safe to contain.

Central Narrative: Charlotte Jeong and Jamie Arnold are two twenty-something women who live on opposite sides of the US (California and Maine, respectively). Despite their distance and the disapproval of Jamie's parents, they manage to scrounge up enough money for Jamie to fly to California to visit. However, in the week of Jamie's visit, the two are harassed, nearly hit with a car, nearly crushed under a previously-stable building, and caught in a tornado. The havoc wreaked in their wake is what ultimately alerts the Foundation to the issue, and the two are subsequently separated.

Hook/Attention-Grabber: Information in the article is revealed somewhat chronologically backward. The reader is given the present-day containment procedures first, then a test log, then recovery log/interviews. Finally, the reader is presented with an excerpt from an optimistic chat log between Jamie and Charlotte planning to meet in person for the very first time.

Additional Notes: For sake of clarity, Jamie and Charlotte are a lesbian couple. It's not supposed to be a huge deal, but it is A Thing.

Roth remained unimpressed from her seat across from the man, a few large books stacked beneath her to raise her to eye level. “Last time I did a favor for you, I ended up with an eyebrow singed off.”

Foreword: Interview conducted after incident XXXX-B-1, where XXXX-B briefly breached containment after feigning illness and convincing a Level 0 Staff member to allow her access to an on-site restroom. After it was made apparent that XXXX-B was not vomiting and instead traveling towards exit gate █, site security was dispatched to sedate XXXX-B and return her to containment. Refer to Incident Report XXXX-B-1 for additional information.

<Begin Log>

Dr. █████: Good evening, SCP-XXXX-B.

[SCP-XXXX-B remains silent for 2 minutes, slouched and picking at her fingernails.]

Dr. █████: SCP-XX-

SCP-XXXX-B: I have a name, you know.

Dr. █████: My apologies. Is there something you would prefer I call you?

[SCP-XXXX-B scoffs, remains silent for 5 minutes.]

Dr. █████: It says here your name is…

[Dr. █████ pages through SCP-XXXX file. SCP-XXXX-B scowls and averts eye contact.]

Dr. █████: …Jamila Arnold?

SCP-XXXX-B: Yeah, that's me. But my friends call me Jamie.

Dr. █████: So…you would like to be called Jamie?

SCP-XXXX-B: I said my friends. You can call me Jamila.

Dr. █████: …I see. Well, Jamila, my name is Dr. █████. It’s nice to meet you.

[SCP-XXXX-B lapses into silence, remaining so for two minutes before sighing and readjusting her posture.]

SCP-XXXX-B: Um…yeah. Hi, I guess.

[Dr. █████ extends a palm to SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-B reluctantly accepts the gesture, shaking Dr. █████’s hand.]

Dr. █████: With our introductions out of the way, let’s get to the unpleasantness, shall we? I’m here to ask you some questions.

SCP-XXXX-B: About my “breach”?

Dr. █████: About your breach. Now, you-

SCP-XXXX-B: I wanted to see Lottie again.

Dr. █████: Pardon?

SCP-XXXX-B: Lottie. Charlotte, Dash-A, whatever the hell else you people are calling her. I- I miss her, and so I tried to leave and see her again.

Dr. █████: That’s what I figured. Care to tell us what you planned to do once you made it off-site?

[SCP-XXXX-B shrugs and remains silent for three minutes.]

Dr. █████: I understand your frustration, Jamila. But acting rashly isn’t going to do anything to help either of us.

SCP-XXXX-B: …That’s what she would say. To be patient, to be compliant, to be-

[SCP-XXXX-B huffs in frustration.]

SCP-XXXX-B: She said that when you took us away, too. That you could help us. Fix us. That you seemed like you know what you’re doing, and to leave our ‘problem’ to the professionals.

[SCP-XXXX-B begins to grow increasingly agitated.]

SCP-XXXX-B: Fuck that. All of it. Fuck you, fuck your- your guards, and your scheduled meals, and your ‘item request’ forms, and your- your Site XYs, and your-

Dr. █████: Site XY?

[SCP-XXXX-B falls silent, averting eye contact.]

Dr. █████: Dash-B, what do you know about Site XY?

[SCP-XXXX-B scowls.]

SCP-XXXX-B: This is why I don’t like you. All you people see me as is some supernatural freak to bag and tag. Fuck you, Dr. █████. I hope I answered all your questions.

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX-B’s knowledge of Site XY, the previous location of SCP-XXXX-A’s containment, is under investigation. SCP-XXXX-A has since been transferred to Site XX. In light of SCP-XXXX-B’s breach and the possibility of undocumented anomalous effects, SCP-XXXX’s object class has been raised from Safe to Euclid.

• Tennis ball that, when used in a game of fetch, flies out of the user's field of vision. Pet and ball disappear, only for the ball to turn up in the user's belongings and covered in saliva the next day. Hook: ANY pet will disappear. Not just dogs. Birds, ferrets, mice, lizards, snakes, frogs, etc— anything, so long as the user views them as a pet. Ball possibly returned by something the user cannot perceive?
