Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Illustrated depiction of SCP-XXXX, currently on display in the Astry Public Library. Artist is unknown.
Special Containment Procedures: Civilian archaeological efforts and historical research within the Astry, Massachusetts area are to be closely monitored by Foundation specialists at all times. Should any additional evidence of the 1637 Astry Massacre resurface, the evidence is to be seized and all involved parties immediately amnesticized.
A Congregational Event cannot be delayed, reliably predicted, prevented, interrupted, or otherwise intervened with in any capacity. Containment procedures should therefore prioritize upon damage control.
Foundation field operatives are to be permanently embedded throughout Astry, Massachusetts. Should the onset of a Congregational Event be observed, a quarantine is to be enacted as soon as possible, with field operatives evacuating as necessary.
No rescue should be attempted during the Event. Evacuation of Inhabitants is not possible. Field operatives should not reintegrate until the Congregational Event has definitively concluded. An abeyance period of 24 hours is to be enforced following each Event’s completion.
As per order of Researcher Sweet, all surviving Inhabitants involved in Congregational Events are to be interviewed immediately following the abeyance period. Mnestics may be administered intravenously during the interview process as needed.
Amnestics should be administered to the sole Witness who reports recollections of the Event which conflict with those described by the community as a whole.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity that adopts the likeness of one Isaiah Rowland Quinn, a Puritan clergyman who expired on September 6th, 1637.
SCP-XXXX will remain in an Inactive state until it spontaneously manifests with the sole purpose of initiating a Congregational Event. All attempts to track SCP-XXXX during its Inactive state have resulted in failure. An Inactive state can last anywhere between six months and eight years, and terminates when SCP-XXXX materializes outside of Astry, Massachusetts.1 Once manifested, SCP-XXXX will immediately initialize a Congregational Event.
SCP-XXXX-A
SCP-XXXX-A is a structure within Astry, Massachusetts which is modernly designated as St. Michael’s Church. During each Congregational Event, SCP-XXXX-A is completely incinerated. Towards the conclusion of each Congregational Event, SCP-XXXX-A will, by anomalous means, initialize a regeneration process which will result in the structure reverting to the form it retained prior to incineration.2
The bell affixed to SCP-XXXX-A, when rung by SCP-XXXX, possesses additional anomalous properties. Any individual within earshot of the bell while it is being rung by SCP-XXXX will be immediately transported inside SCP-XXXX-A.
