SCP-XXXX upon discovery in an abandoned hospital located in [REDACTED].

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a standard secure item locker at Site-19. A nightlight is placed in containment with SCP-XXXX and is to be powered on at all times.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a metal chair consistent with those found in hospitals, schools, and other public buildings. The object has no visual hints of it being an anomaly. However, when exposed to darkness, it will actively make an effort to move back into the light, dragging across the floor as if it is being pulled. If no light is available in the immediate radius of SCP-XXXX, it will vibrate and begin letting out a high-pitched tone similar in sound to a human scream of fear.

When SCP-XXXX is occupied by a human subject, said subject will be overcome with fright, and then go into a trance-like state, observed by eyes glassing over and lack of response to those around it. Subject will not leave SCP-XXXX unless met with physical force.

Subject: D-27132 (Male, 29)

Procedure: Subject is to be instructed to sit in SCP-XXXX for 20 minutes. The test chamber is to be observed through a bulletproof glass window.

Results: D-27132 displayed confusion at the object, but complied with slight boredom. After being seated in SCP-XXXX, subject's spine snapped straight and it vocalized anxiety for 8.2 seconds before going silent. Eyes were observed to be hazy and subject's eyebrows were intensely furrowed.

Subject began emitting whimpering sounds associated with fear 14 minutes into test. After the allotted 20 minutes, armed personnel were sent to attempt to first make verbal contact with D-27132 before using force. Subject was unresponsive to any verbal or visual communication. D-27132 was taken out of SCP-XXXX by force.

When awoken, subject appeared grim and terrified, pleading personnel for administration of amnestics. Request was subsequently denied and D-27132 was taken to a holding cell in preparation for an interview. Once placed in cell, D-27132 began to bang its head against the wall with lethal force, resisting all commands to stop even when restrained by guards. D-27132 broke free from the hold of all personnel, proceeding to repeat its earlier action of ramming its head into wall, though this time with even more urgency and violence. Subject expired after approximately 12 seconds.

Note: Wow, that guy was really scared out of his wits, huh? All jokes aside, I'm very disappointed that the subject expired. I think we should run a couple more tests to better understand this thing's nature.

Addendum XXXX.2

Subject: D-44673 (Female, 34)

Procedure: Subject is to be instructed to sit in SCP-XXXX for 20 minutes. The test chamber is to be observed through a bulletproof glass window. Once test is concluded, subject is to be taken to a secure holding cell where it cannot harm itself or others and is to be under constant watch by personnel armed with strong tranquilizers. Once subject is deemed psychologically stable, it is to be interviewed by Dr. ███ of Site-19.

Results: D-44673 displayed anger at being "used for another [EXPLETIVE] test". After reminder that failure to obey will result in termination, subject complied. When sat fully in SCP-XXXX, subject displayed a reaction of acute fear before entering into a trance.

Approximately 7 minutes into testing, D-44673 began to sweat profusely, shaking and repeating the word "no" over and over again. After 18 minutes, subject let out a loud shriek and its limbs jerked violently.

When removed from SCP-XXXX, D-44673 awoke and began to let out horrid screams of fear and pain. Subject was then restrained and taken to holding cell. D-44673 was deemed psychologically stable after a week of intensive therapy.

Foreword: This interview takes place one week after D-44673 came into contact with SCP-XXXX.

Dr.███: Good morning, D-44673.

D-44673: Yeah, yeah, mornin'.

Dr.███: I assume you know why I am here?

D-44673: You wanna hear about what happened in that [EXPLETIVE] chair, don't you?

Dr.███: Yes.

D-44673: (Sighs) When I went in, nothing seemed off. For a minute, I thought they were gonna kill me. I mean, creepy room, scary scientists, the whole atmosphere kinda set me off. The guy through the window made me sit in the chair, so I did.

D-44673: (Voice begins to waver) As soon as I sat, it was like… like being thrown into a nightmare.

Dr.███: What did you see?

D-44673: It started with reliving horrible memories. So many bad memories came at me all at once. When I was a kid, I had a big dog, 'er name was Spike. Her and I were pals, ya know? But when I was eight, she got run over by a car. She died slowly and painfully and I had to bury her! And that thing made me see her body, again and again.

Dr.███: I'm… sorry. (Looks to observing researcher with an incredulous look, trying to communicate something like, 'Did you get that?')

D-44673: Then it threw me into a [EXPLETIVE] horror movie. I appeared in a dark hallway and there was this big creature chasing me. Kinda like a human, but with long arms and no eyes. When I reached the end of the hallway, the door was locked. But just as that thing was about to reach me, the door opened and I… woke up, I guess.

Dr.███: And that was all that happened?

D-44673: Yeah. I know it doesn't sound too scary, but trust me, it was. I (shaky breath) don't want to talk about it anymore. I can't.

Dr.███: Don't worry. We got more than enough.
