Item #: SCP-####

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Site-#### has been build around SCP-####. Site-#### is to maintain the guise of a Canadian military testing site, with personnel equipped with the appropriate uniforms and equipment. Canadian laws regarding trespassing on government land are to be enforced as normal.

No personnel with any form of total sensory loss are to assigned to SCP-####. Items capable of causing significant sensory loss (see Document ####-1 for a full list) are not to be worn or used outside of testing.

Description: SCP-#### is an area in the Yukon territory of Canada, measuring somewhere between 4 and 18 meters in size1. SCP-#### is not entirely perceptible, with observers claiming that it is constantly changing in an indescribable way, or that it is somehow 'out of focus.'

Direct contact with SCP-#### is impossible while it is being observed. Subjects attempting to do so will 'miss' the object. This effect extends to outside observation, such as cameras, as well as other senses. The only way to make actual contact with SCP-#### is if the subject attempting to do so is incapable of receiving visual, auditory, or tactile stimuli from the object, and no other direct observers are present. A set of thick wool gloves, noise cancelling headphones, and a blindfold have been provided for testing purposes.

Objects that do make actual contact with SCP-#### become SCP-####-1 instances. Instances of SCP-####-1 exhibit the same 'out of focus' effect as SCP-####, but otherwise behave identically to how they did before becoming anomalous. Along with being visually indistinct, any noises created by SCP-####-1 instances are described as both muffled and distorted. Despite this, communication with an SCP-####-1 instance has been achieved via indirect methods. See Testing Log #### for details. Site-#### currently houses forty six SCP-####-1 instances.

Discovery: SCP-#### was initially discovered by Jack Murray, an avid hiker and backpacker. On January 18th, 2019, Murray returned from a camping trip in the northern Yukon territory a week ahead of schedule, claiming to have seen a 'black hole' in the forest. After an embedded agent within the local government was alerted to this, those Murray had contact with were amnesticized and Murray himself was taken in for questioning before also being amnesticized and released.
