An unrestored room inside of SCP-XXXX.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Keter Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Notice: Some parts of the Special Containment Procedures have been revised following Incident-XXXX-4. A restricted "National Wildlife Refuge" of 800 meters in radius was officially declared around SCP-XXXX. The area is surrounded by barbed wire fences and regularly patrolled for civilians. SCP-XXXX is to be continuously monitored via security cameras placed throughout its interior. Exploratory Team Kappa-14 may be recommissioned in the event that SCP-XXXX's main underground tunnel is restored. At least five armed personnel must be stationed in SCP-XXXX at all times, three of which are to be stationed within SCP-XXXX's central chamber to recover SCP-XXXX artifacts. All SCP-XXXX artifacts are to be sent to Site-XXXX and placed under Quarantine Protocol Alpha-2. Testing with SCP-XXXX artifacts is done only in Site-XXXX unless the artifact is cleared from quarantine.

Revised Procedures: Only D-Class personnel who have not been previously exposed to any anomalies may enter SCP-XXXX. Six D-Class personnel are to be stationed in SCP-XXXX at all times. No security cameras are allowed to be present inside of SCP-XXXX. Site-XXXX may not harbor any anomalous material other than recovered SCP-XXXX artifacts. All research into SCP-XXXX of any kind is forbidden and punishable by severe disciplinary action, including termination of life. D-Class assigned to SCP-XXXX are amnestized every week to ensure that none develop a deeper understanding of SCP-XXXX. In the event that the general mechanics behind SCP-XXXX is rediscovered and the knowledge spreads the entirety of Site-XXXX, as well as other individuals exposed to the knowledge, are to be immediately amnestized. To prevent such an event from happening, SCP-XXXX is currently classified 4/XXXX with the exception of special clearance XXXX available to all security clearance classes. Previous theories and observations of SCP-XXXX are expunged from all documents and backups.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an abandoned factory located inside Katmai National Park. No records exist of SCP-XXXX and evidence of human presence before its acquisition by the Foundation has not been found. Analysis has shown that SCP-XXXX may have been a canned food factory, though why it was constructed in such a remote location is unknown. SCP-XXXX was first found in a state of disrepair by civilian hikers who have since been amnestized and released. Foundation efforts have repaired a large part of SCP-XXXX, though several tunnels leading to an unexplored underground part of SCP-XXXX remain collapsed and impassable.

In the center of SCP-XXXX is a large, plain chamber containing only a black pedestal. Sporadically SCP-XXXX artifacts, mostly small in size, will materialize on the pedestal, destroying any shared space with other objects. These artifacts share non-euclidean geometry and often resemble popular optical illusions, such as the Penrose triangle, Impossible cube, and Penrose stairs. Motion seems to be affected by the artifacts, such as in the case of the Penrose stairs, which will infinitely go up or down when climbed by remote drones. Analysis has shown that parts of SCP-XXXX artifacts inhabit the [DATA EXPUNGED]. Application of the largely theoretical [DATA EXPUNGED] to SCP-XXXX artifacts have given Foundation researchers precise measurements of SCP-XXXX artifacts. See Document-XXXX-2 for all recovered SCP-XXXX artifacts and their measurements.

Addendum-XXXX-1: "We've measured the pedestal and there's an unstable one-way [DATA EXPUNGED] there. During the materialization of SCP-XXXX artifacts, the [DATA EXPUNGED] stabilizes. This matches what we know on basic [DATA EXPUNGED]. Josh's team is already predicting the stability cycle. Hopefully, we'll soon figure out the timing of the appearance of artifacts. Though SCP-XXXX is not fully explained, we have a basic understanding of its properties and mechanics. Perhaps in the future, it will be fully explainable, in which case we'll just snuff out the singularity." -Dr. Pitcher, head researcher

Addendum-XXXX-2: "Applying the [DATA EXPUNGED] no longer gives us any usable data. We've put them through the equations, but the results are different each time. It doesn't make sense." -Dr. Pitcher

"Are you sure that the instruments you're using are properly maintained? Also, remeasure the preexisting artifacts in your possession. We need to know if SCP-XXXX is changing what it produces." -O5-2

"The old artifacts are still pretty normal as far as anomalies go, but the new ones are measurable. They're also different, too. Stereotypical impossible shapes still appear, though my team also recovered… well it's really hard to describe and for some reason, we can't take any pictures of it or draw anything, so just think of the opposite of a typewriter." -Dr. Pitcher

Addendum-XXXX-3: "The singularity is now missing, and objects are appearing sporadically again. This does not bode well for anyone." -Dr. Pitcher

Incident-XXXX-1: On 2018-05-08 a copy of SCP-███ was found on the pedestal of SCP-XXXX. Security guard Christian Mazepa was the only person who had seen the documentation for SCP-███ Due to the memetic safeguards put in place on SCP-███, Mazepa died of cardiac arrest instantly. The other two guards fled the room, minimizing the casualties. MTF Eta-10 "See No Evil" was dispatched to incinerate SCP-███'s document, and amnestics were administered to everyone inside Site-XXXX.

Addendum-XXXX-4: "This is a serious info breach that we thought would never happen. The entirety of Site-XXXX has been amnestized and the document was incinerated. Luckily SCP-001's document never left our hands, but imagine the catastrophic damage that could have happened if the Chaos Insurgency or any other malevolent group took control of SCP-XXXX first and saw SCP-001. Previously, the bypassing of our memetic safeguards was seen as impossible, even by impossible things, yet SCP-XXXX has produced the impossible. For that reason, I've changed SCP-XXXX's object class to Keter and assigned several level-4s to Site-XXXX. Dr. Pitcher will, however, remain in Site-XXXX due to his experience with SCP-XXXX." -O5-2

Addendum-XXXX-5: A portion of the updated sections of Document-XXXX-2 has been attached below.

Of note is that none of these artifacts or SCP-XXXX itself affect the local spacetime continuum, the dimensional drag, or the regional Hume level. It is assumed that these artifacts force reality to match up with [DATA EXPUNGED] to prevent any change in Humes or other fundamental variables.

Addendum-XXXX-6: "I've finally figured it out. SCP-XXXX uses [DATA EXPUNGED] to siphon our [DATA EXPUNGED]. In that way [DATA EXPUNGED]. Josh tells me that we can neutralize the anomaly by putting up a ██████ █████ ████, something that, yes, is anomalous, but also something that we mostly understand and used before." -Dr. Pitcher

Incident-XXXX-3: On 2018-05-27 a ██████ █████ ████ was put in place around SCP-XXXX as per Dr. Pitcher's proposal. For two weeks no activity was reported inside of SCP-XXXX. However, on 2018-06-10, the ██████ █████ ████ spontaneously disappeared for no discernable reason. Agent Degrassi, who was thought to be have been taken to the Eternal Lands of Night by the Keter class SCP-████, walked out from SCP-XXXX's eastern entrance immediately after the collapse of the ██████ █████ ████. When questioned on his miraculous escape, Agent Degrassi responded: "[INFOHAZARD REMOVED]". He was immediately terminated and all personnel contacted by Degrassi amnestized. When MTF-█████-██ "████ ███████" entered the Shroud of Perpetual Suffering they found the corpse of SCP-████'s second manifestation. For reasons unknown, SCP-████ never manifested into a physical form again after the incident and all of its anomalous effects ceased to continue.

Incident-XXXX-4: On 2018-06-20 a Class-Vestibule gateway singularity appeared over SCP-XXXX. Soon after, a levitating metallic sphere around two meters by diameter exited the singularity and bombarded SCP-XXXX with anomalous exotic particles, in a similar fashion to the Foundation's ████████ Scanners. Two hours later, Foundation scientists were able to locate the endpoint of the gateway singularity in the galaxy Andromeda, and Site-XXXX was successfully evacuated. One hour later, the singularity gateway collapsed, destroying much of Site-XXXX and SCP-XXXX with a large dose of gamma radiation. Simultaneously, Foundation Anomalous FTL Sensors detected a supernova explosion in the original endpoint of the gateway singularity. The search for the metallic sphere sent through the gateway singularity is still ongoing.

Addendum-XXXX-7: "By now the truth is obvious. SCP-XXXX is one of the most powerful and dangerous SCPs we have in our containment. It can do anything to achieve the impossible, to go beyond our expectations and even our concept of normalcy. The Foundation has always assumed that there is always an explanation to all things. Our motto is "Secure, Contain, Protect" but we had always strived to also "Learn". We pioneered the breakthrough of computing and neural AIs with ancient relics from long-gone civilizations and the silicon brains we currently possess and we developed new cures and treatment to disease from our advanced understanding of radiation and biology. What every- or almost every researcher yearns for is the day when their anomaly is categorized Explained, the day where nothing is anomalous because we will understand everything. SCP-XXXX challenges that expectation. It hates all knowledge and understanding, and will always try to remain in shrouded darkness. Though SCP-XXXX has no malicious intent as it does not think or feel, we can easily push it to boundaries where it cannot return from. So let's not solve this mystery; the answer will be too much for us to bear." -O5-2
