Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Any instances of SCP-XXXX are to be terminated without hesitation if encountered outside of foundation containment. Instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained separately within 40 (forty) by 20 (twenty) by 6 (six) meter, hermetically sealed chambers consisting of iron walls, panelled ceiling lights in excess of 2,600 lumens, and concrete flooring that possesses drainage capabilities. Should an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 be identified, the subject is to be placed on site with SCP-XXXX instances and made to aid research staff. In the event no SCP-XXXX-1 instances are present during an active-state breach of containment, mobile task force Zulu-88 "Temporal Schism"1 is to be deployed immediately to secure the site, its personnel, and the item(s) as well as evacuating all gasses from SCP-XXXX containment chambers until control of the item(s) is reestablished.
Description: SCP-XXXX instances are large, mammalian felines commonly 2.8 meters in length. Instances appear to the naked eye as abnormally large pantherine felines with purple irises and no additional, observably anomalous features in their resting state.
While hunting an SCP-XXXX-1 instance, SCP-XXXX will appear in its active state; A six-legged feline of the panthera genus possessing between 2 (two) and 4 (four) prehensile tails that end in spade-shaped pads that exhibit extremely sharp barbs on one side.
The fur of SCP-XXXX instances becomes imperceptibly dark, though female instances present with many small, white dots along their coat that remain stationary relative to the observer.
Active-state instances of SCP-XXXX will select one sentient entity within 800 miles with preference shown towards larger creatures when available. The active-state instance then proceeds to track down and hunt this target, designated SCP-XXXX-1, until either is incapacitated or neutralised.
During the active state, the engaged SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-12 instances experience a complete cessation of temporal progression. Despite this, the two entities themselves are fully capable of moving, interacting with other objects, and each other.
Objects in contact with either will be subject to the normal progression of time, though they will return to their temporally locked state within 2.68 seconds of losing contact. Further, any objects in direct contact with one that is in contact with SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-1 will experience temporal progression relative to the proximity to the entities and up to 11 (eleven) meters away. Other entities in contact with SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-1 are not affected by this.
The barbs and claws present on active-state instances of SCP-XXXX are capable of cutting through up to approximately 20 centimetres of 1.4% carbon steel and most forms of protective body armour, even those designed specifically to resist cutting or slicing motions.
Instances of SCP-XXXX lit in excess of 2,600 lumens stand out best to the human eye due to their extreme light absorption regardless of state. Further, instances are more aggressive in darker environments, with areas in excess of 2,600 lumens causing instances to fall into a more passive pattern of behaviour.
SCP-XXXX instances in the active state exhibit a severe aversion to iron, iron-majority alloys, and generally avoid metallic objects regardless of composition. In addition, they are effectively immune to high levels of radiation as it passes through them completely without any harm done to the entity. Further, instances of SCP-XXXX are incapacitated when they cannot breathe3 for more than 23 minutes.
Addendum:
Experiment log 1:
D-8945 is instructed to enter the containment chamber of SCP-XXXX with no prior knowledge as to its nature or properties. The subject was provided a small notebook and pen, then told to describe the entity's reaction to their presence verbally and textually. During description, the instance of SCP-XXXX present entered an active state and attacked D-8945, avoiding the subjects many piercings while consuming the body afterwards.

[Forward]
D-9324 was prepared with body armour and a brief description of SCP-XXXX's effects and abilities. It was later discovered that D-9324 has previously been targeted by an instance of SCP-XXXX and was unaware of it.
Experiment log 2-A:
D-9324 is ordered to enter the containment chamber of a male SCP-XXXX instance. The subject verbally expresses apprehension and hesitates to enter. Subject complies after being reminded about the time of day, as they were taken from their lunch for the experiment.
Subject approaches SCP-XXXX and is told to record a verbal description of the entity and events on the provided, on-body recording device. Subject complies, describing SCP-XXXX as a "giant ████ing panther" before the instance shifts into an active-state.
"Holy ████! It looks like it's going to attack me! It's ████ing changing and ████… I—" subject stammers, dropping the microphone of the recording device before picking it back up again,
"I've actually seen one of these ████ers before… It's not coming after me, but it's certainly trying to get out and attack someone else—" subject is knocked over by the instance, dropping the microphone again, which is destroyed by SCP-XXXX as it breaches containment.

2-B: Several CCTV cameras on the site had streaks across their imaging after the breach of containment, leading to the conclusion that SCP-XXXX had been in multiple places at once across the facility, though it had been across all effected feeds simultaneously due to its temporal effect in the active state.
A security guard posted outside the facility to deter civilian interaction was the target of SCP-XXXX's active state during this time. While they did not survive the encounter, this was further evidence that SCP-XXXX did not teleport as first theorised out side of the foundation. Its appearance outside the facility was noted by the other security staff maintaining the perimeter of the site as instantaneous, while the entity was still captured on multiple on-site cameras.
It should also be noted that the fact D-9324's recording continued during the time between the shift into an active state and the appearance of SCP-XXXX outside of the facility is what originally provided evidence for further tests with SCP-XXXX-1 instances, including a highly detailed and prolonged set of journal entries detailed in document SCP-XXXX Related Materials Log 3 which were similar to the Related Materials Log 1 entry that was reported to have belonged to a missing adult Caucasian male of 28 years.
