Object Class: Apollyon Keter Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
Stay out of Dr. ██████'s office. New knowledge is dangerous. The object must be destroyed as soon as possible.1 Update: as of 01/11/2019, new procedure to combat SCP-4973's effects have been developed, refer to full document in Dr. ██████'s office.2 The forementioned document contains all classified information on SCP-4793. Manifestations of documents describing SCP-4793 are to be reported to "The Blind-mna" operative. Thanks to the efforts of Dr. ██████, Dr. Martin, Dr. Beads, Dr. █████████, and Dr. Grimes, SCP-4973 is no longer an infohazard.3

SCP-4973 is no longer infohazardous.

SCP-4973 lacks a true physical form. Instead it takes on the appearance of whatever seems most inviting to it's victims. Notes taken by researchers previously assigned to develop containment for the object have described it as appearing as various manners of a gentleman, children on occasion, and at one point it bore resemblance to Dr. Martin's dog. Surveillance has captured footage of the object appearing as a black cloud, a horde of appendages,and more frequently it would appear as what would be referred to as "The Devil" by religious groups

Until the brave actions of Dr. Grimes, exposure to information about SCP-4793 resulted in death, a process that would start up slowly, speeding up until the victim was dead 1 month later.

What remains of SCP-4793's aberrancy is that it is very docile, hospitable, sociable, and polite in behavior, regardless of intent directed at it, and it also takes orders very well.

The more mystical quality of this object is that it is obsessed with deal making. Only for the one making deals with it to vanish upon making a thirteenth bargain. The object never explicitly asks for anything in return, but appears to consume those who have asked for a lot of favors from it.

Studies indicate that any deal may be made with SCP-4793, and te object will complete any request to the best of it's ability. It

Recovery Log: See Dr. ██████'s office for documentation on this incident. SCP-4973 is no longer anomalous. Details of recovery log now follows. 2018, August thirteenth, at approximately 14:06 Dr. ██████ was whistling "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", when he noticed SCP-4973 in his office suddenly. Dr. ██████ tried to communicate with SCP-4973, and upon success SCP-4973 transformed to look like an upper-class man from Industrial Revolution Britain. Dr. ██████ contacted Dr. Martin immediately, as well as a team of several Foundation field operatives. At first SCP-4973 seemed docile, but when Dr. ██████ as well as the field operatives from the day of SCP-4973's discovery all died of unexplained causes, Dr. Martin took it upon himself to develop Procedure Blind-Man, and after less than a year of terror, the assured containment of SCP-4973.

Addendum 4973-1:
Requesting the authorization of the introduction of SCP-682 into Dr. ██████'s office.

Request denied because of the danger of SCP-4973 interacting with SCP-682.

Addendum 4973-2
Information describing any property of SCP-4973 is dangerous to sentient beings; however, information about that information is perfectly harmless. This makes understanding SCP-4973 difficult, and even more difficult to contain. Information about SCP-4973 is hazardous in any medium of communication. For assistance about SCP-4973, speak with "The Blind-Man".

Addendum 4973-3
Upon discovering the ability to make deals with SCP-4973. Dr. ██████ sought to use SCP-4973's own compliance against it. Below is a record of wishes that Dr. ██████ made, which he recorded on a napkin in his office, found posthumously.

1. My office is to be completely immune to damage.

2. No entities may leave my office.

3. Only D-class personnel may enter my office.

4. Any and all information about you stays in my office.

5. Only information about you is infohazardous.

6. All XK End of world scenarios will never happen.

7. All ZK End of the world scenarios will never happen.

8. SCP-682 will die with me.

9. SCP-610 will turn into a harmless cluster of butterflies.

10. SCP-239 will lose her powers.

11. SCP-4973 will lose its infohazardous status.

12. SCP-343 will remain benign forever.

13. SCP-963 will behave himself.

Upon further investigation it is learned that the first 3 requests are successfully fulfilled, Dr. ██████'s office has been dubbed SCP-4973-1. SCP-682 was dead for 5 minutes after Dr. ██████'s death. SCP-610 became airborne for mere moments before getting pinned down by an airstrike, and returning to its normal form. SCP-239 was reported to have a seizure, but did not wake. SCP-4973 was still infohazardous, Dr. Bright' behavior did not change, and it is unclear if SCP-343 was affected by SCP-4973. ZK and XK potential SCP objects showed no change following Dr. ██████'s deals.

All doctors following Dr. ██████ withheld from deal making, except for Dr. █████████ and Dr. Grimes. It is unknown as to what Dr. █████████ asked for, but it is known that 13 deals were struck as he disappeared after his first day on the job. Dr. Grimes made a few wishes to test out the limits of SCP-4973, and though Dr. Grimes at this time will not divulge as to what he wished for, the following have come as a result of his deals: a ball that can be cut into 4 pieces, which can be rolled into balls the same size as the original (SCP-4973-2), and SCP-4973 lost its status as infohazardous.

Procedure Blind-man:
The following is to be established because of SCP-4973: transcriptions of document triggering SCP-4973 are to be made, the details are not to be disclosed to anyone except to the successor of the task Procedure Blind-Man, at all times there is to be a designated personnel entitled "The Blind-Man", there may not be more than one "Blind-Man" at a time, and only the Blind-Man is allowed into the containment area. The nature of SCP-4973, which may not be disclosed in this document, makes this procedure neccessary to prevent containment breach, and a potential XK or even a ZK End-of-the-World scenario. Dr. ██████'s office contains all anomalous information that is not put into this document. All 05 operatives are required to know who "The Blind-Man" is at all times.

Following the demotion of SCP-4973 item to safe status, and the loss of infohazardous status, this procedure is no longer useful. This procedure may be applied to another infohazard should one arise.
