(An SCP that I've been working on. Feedback is appreciated.)
Item #: SCP-5510
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5510 and SCP-5510-A are to be housed in Site 39. The cell should be approximately 3mx3mx3m, though smaller measurements are applicable. The walls of the cell can be either concrete or metal, but the floor must be made completely out of steel. Class B personnel must be present at all times to use SCP-5510 as a regular mop while also using SCP-5510-A as a regular mop bucket.
Description: SCP-5510 appears to be an ordinary mop that must be constantly used by Class B personnel on the floor of the location it has been placed in. All personnel are required to wear gas masks while handling SCP-5510 and SCP-5510-A.
If SCP-5510 is not in use constantly it will begin to secrete a fluid similar to ammonium hydroxide and will proceed to corrode any organic and inorganic materials it comes into contact with, eventually creating a hole in whatever surface it is placed on. The ammonium hydroxide burns through any material at a rate of 0.5m a day.
SCP-5510-A appears to be an ordinary mop bucket that must also be used once every ten minutes or else it will produce a gas similar to ammonia and will proceed to poison any organisms in the nearby vicinity.
SCP-5510 and SCP-5510-A can be used as regular cleaning items but are not considered safe for use outside of Site 39.
Incident at ████████, ██/██/████:
The Foundation was alerted to SCP-5510’s presence on ██/██/████ by a newspaper report of a janitor who was murdered at ███████ High School after school hours under mysterious circumstances. The body of the janitor was found partially submerged in a pool of ammonium hydroxide that had burned a hole in the floor approximately 1mx1m in width and 0.5m in height. A team consisting of 5 personnel were sent to investigate as local townspeople were concerned with the hole growing in size. The team’s attempts to contain the hole’s growth failed until Dr. ██████ noted that the mop and bucket within the hole were unburnt in the ammonium hydroxide. The two objects were both retrieved and quarantined for testing, however they soon burned holes in the quarantined unit. SCP-5510 and SCP-5510-A were constantly moved around Site 39 before and during testing to prevent maximum loses to the Site’s integral structure.
