Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a secure room fit with sound-proof padding covering every surface of the room other than the artifact's casing. Access is only to be granted to level 3 personnel or above. The artifact itself is to be contained in 15 cubic centimeter block of 5 cm thick glass.
Under no circumstance is any personnel permitted to remove the artifact from its containment room. Non-Sapient/Sentient fauna are to be kept at least 1 kilometer from SCP-XXXX, and room is to be monitored for any floral growth. Flora is to be removed from the room, and Level 5 cleaning protocol1 is to be initiated.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a to-scale wooden sculpture of a human brain. Testing has proven it to be completely formed of red-wood, commonly found in [DATA EXPUNGED]. The artifact was first brought to the foundations attention when a group of hikers reported hearing a distant "whispers" that sounded unintelligent and primitive from an unknown location. The reported area was investigated, and SCP-XXXX was found atop an ancient temple similar architecture to that of [DATA EXPUNGED]. The artifact was surrounded by fauna native to the region, seeming to be attracted to the artifact.
As researchers closed in on the artifacts location, they reported hearing the whispers as mentioned by the hiking group. The whispers increased in volume and number until the temple was reached. Once being in the presence of SCP-XXXX, approximately 2 meters away, researchers reported hearing the thoughts of the fauna around them. Researchers described 'being one' with the fauna when in presence of SCP-XXXX. After inspection of surrounding area, no more artifacts of similar nature were found.
When attempting to move SCP-XXXX, fauna becomes hostile and will attack any personnel in contact with the artifact. It is advised to relocate potentially harmful fauna as far as possible from the containment site of SCP-XXXX. Sapient/sentient specimens show no hostile reaction when the artifact is moved when in presence of the artifact.
SCP-XXXX has the potential to link a large network of minds together, creating a cognitive conversation2 in the minds of all living beings within an indefinite radius. The cognitive conversation has only been initiated on three occasions.
