Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Unknown Keter (As of 2/22/20██)
As of 2/22/20XX this article has been updated with the addition of Addendum-1A as well as suitable Special Containment Procedures.
Special Containment Procedures:
Currently, six [6] instances of SCP-XXXX have been isolated at Site-██. However, this is definitely not the entire population.
SCP-XXXX instances are to be kept secured at Site-██ within an observable containment unit that is to be strictly monitored by several Class-D personnel, all of who must have been administered Class-A mnestics. Strictly no access should be allowed to the containment unit.
Instances of SCP-XXXX are to be fed a diet of barnyard animals such as pigs, chickens and cows that have died of a heart attack prompted by loud noises.
All staff introduced to the site are to be administered Class-A mnestics and are to kept on for six months before being administered Class-A amnestics and transferred to any other available site.
If the number of instances of SCP-XXXX increases above six [6], then the site should be evacuated and MTF-Sigma-22 “Diamond Dogs” should be sent in to secure the site.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an intangible organism that leaves either two and four pawprints wherever it walks. These pawprints are about 15cm x 19cm with ranges in dimension of +/- 3 centimetres. The pawprints are universally 2 inches deep and therefore its size has been estimated as between 5ft and 6ft.
Due to the variance in form, the Foundation cannot discern whether the entity is primarily bipedal or quadrupedal but it can definitely go from one state to the other. The pawprints contain five individual fingers with one of them adapted as a thumb. Pawprints are only visible to the ‘target prey’.
SCP-XXXX seems to be able to navigate on any surface with pawprints being found walking on walls as well as ceilings where typically on organism of such size would not be able to attach to the surface due to poor tension.
Pawprints left behind by SCP-XXXX are filled with a liquid substance which has been identified as human saliva. Onlookers will only see instances of SCP-XXXX as small patches of the liquid substance.
SCP-XXXX instances generally manifest in multiples and behave with a pack mentality, driving their selected target into a corner through horror tactics, converging from multiple directions such as the floor, walls and ceiling. They prefer to push their target into a building or other enclosed location so as to arrive from multiple directions. After they have enclosed their target, they become visible to the prey before ravenously devouring them. This is done through their paws as tissue is removed from the prey in shapes perfectly resembling the pawprints left behind by SCP-XXXX.
Addendum-1A: Addendum-1A is a letter from Dr. Adam Taylor after Incident 28AB7.
Dear Site Director,
As you are aware, this is the first time that we have managed to contain any instances of SCP-XXXX rather than just capture them like in Incident 28AB7 and through the brilliance of MTF-Sigma-22, who I have only the deepest gratitude for, we now have contained instances.
After a series of tests run by this Site, I have identified many important features of SCP-XXXX. Firstly, SCP-XXXX should be divided into SCP-XXXX-1 representing the bipedal instances and SCP-XXXX-2 representing the quadrupedal instances.
SCP-XXXX-1’s are malicious humanoids that stand at approximately 6ft and have had the skin pulled taught from all over their body. They are attached to instances of SCP-XXXX-2 by what can only be described as an umbilical cord. This keeps the instances under their direct control. The means through which they appear invisible has been surmised to be a antimemetic field that rids them from the collective consciousness of the human race and they only choose to deactivate this when they are preparing to eat their target.
SCP-XXXX-2 are canines of around 5 feet in length that resemble something like a hyena, wolf and lion stitched together. Their mouths are located on their paws and they constantly salivate through this tissue. Their naval has a fully functioning umbilical cord attached to it that originates from the wrist of an SCP-XXXX-1.Furthermore, both instances seem to feed on the emotion of fear, devouring some of the flesh from humans that they have ‘basted’ to a suitable degree.
Most horrifyingly is what you will find in Incident 28AB7, I feel it is unsuitable to discuss here.
Finally, I request that all future staff sent to me are actually given Class-A mnestics this time around. We really don’t want to be having a repeat Incident 28AB7. And yes, that includes Class-D as well.
The Class D personnel enter the containment unit and turn around to face the researchers.
Dr. Mary Evans: “D-28AB7, what are you doing?”
D-28AB7: “Doc, I have no idea, there’s nothing in there”
Dr. Mary Evans can be seen turning away from the containment cell and yelling to one of her coworkers
Dr. Mary Evans: "Who was in charge of Site Mnestics!"
D-28AB7 is promptly attacked by the five [5] contained instances. Shortly after, the body can be seen writhing around still alive as it slowly begins to change, taking on the appearance of a bipedal human.
Dr. Mary Evans: “Holy shit, he’s turning into one of them.. I mean… There’s been a containment breach!”
D-28AB7 undergoes a rapid mutation into an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 and then disappears from the camera's view once he has fully changed.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Special Containment Procedures: The object should always be filled with 750 litres of water, as well as 385kg of Epsom salt
Description: SCP-XXXX is a sensory deprivation tank made by AbyssalPledges Co. The object is 252cm x 160cm x 161cm and it has a total volume of 6594 litres and is constructed from GRP (glass reinforced plastic). Other than the white acrylic paint that is sprayed over the body of the object, SCP-XXXX also contains a unique sticker that reads AbyssalPledges Co. with a dolphin in motion positioned above the phrase. AbyssalPledges Co. as a trading company does not exist.
SCP-XXXX was recovered from a flat in [REDACTED], Pennsylvania when the occupants of 21B complained about a foul smell coming from 21C. When a recovery team was sent to investigate the flat, they found SCP-XXXX in the bathroom of the flat and upon opening it discovered the previous occupant’s body.
SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties activate when a subject is submerged into the object and the object’s front door is closed. The subject will then find themselves floating in a lightless, saline solution that seems to have no visible end. When GPS tracking has been performed, the GPS will not be able to find their location whilst SCP-XXXX’s door is closed.
Subjects engaged with SCP-XXXX have described their experience within as “timeless” with them having no recollection of how long they have spent submerged within the entity. However, after 3 minutes has passed outside of SCP-XXXX all subjects reported feelings of dread and paranoia, demanding to be let out. After 4 minutes, all subjects report feelings of being watched by a pair of “diamond eyes” and will begin to thrash around, attempting to escape the entity.
Subjects that have been submerged for longer than 3 minutes but have been allowed out of SCP-XXXX report suffering insomnia and difficulties in being able to discuss the events that occurred within SCP-XXXX whilst those that were submerged for longer than 4 minutes report hallucinating white eyes that are observed from the peripheral vision of the subject.
If subjects are within SCP-XXXX for longer than five minutes, they will begin to convulse and spasm inside of the entity before all movement ceases. Upon opening SCP-XXXX, the saline solution contains the remains of the subject suspended within it. Analysis of the contents of the saline solution suggest an overall increase in volume of 42L and the volume consists of blood and other miscellaneous body fluids. All internal and external organs are omitted from the saline solution.
However, one subject did survive exposure of over 5 minutes to SCP-XXXX, an interview was conducted immediately after his removal from SCP-XXXX. See Interview Log XXXX-2782 for details.
Full testing of SCP-XXXX can be found under Testing Log XXXX and can be requested at any time with the permission of Site Director-27
Further testing of SCP-XXXX is now only to be performed with the signed permission of at least one O-5 personnel due to Incident-XXXX.
Interview Log XXXX-2782
Date: June ██, 200█
Interviewee: D-2782
Interviewer: Dr. Heather █████
This interview was conducted due to D-2782 being the only subject to have survived beyond 5 minutes of exposure to SCP-XXXX. This was to ascertain what D-2782 experienced post 5 minutes.
Dr. █████: This is Interview Log XXXX-2782. D-2782, can you explain what happened after five minutes of exposure to SCP-XXXX?
D-2782: Well, I was beginning to freak out inside the thing.. couldn’t tell how long I’d been in there and I looked down and saw an endless ocean.. and deep below me were these two glowing diamond eyes and they were getting closer and closer.
Dr.█████: That’s no different to all others. I’m asking if you witnessed anything unique D-2782?
D-2782: I was getting there! I heard whispers and voices overlapping one another.. like a million voices screaming in my head. “An endless midnight sea”, “Sunlight never reaches us”, “The holy one cometh” were a few I could understand but it was all in different languages.
Dr. █████ can be heard scribbling onto a piece of paper and looks up at him.
Dr. █████: And then what? Other than the voices?
D-2782: I could feel a shadow swimming by me.. it was horrific and massive. I began to panic as I saw those eyes, the diamond eyes. It had eyes like a cat, reflecting my reflection into itself.
Dr. █████: Can you describe anymore about this shadow?
D-2782: N..no, I’m sorry. All I remember is its face.
Dr. █████: That’s okay D-2782, please continue.
D-2782: A huge goat’s head. Its head was a huge goat skull with the horns and all.
Dr. █████: That will be all D-2782, please return to your cell.
All tests are recorded in a minutes/seconds format. Tests were conducted to ascertain the exposure limits for each recorded event.
Test 1 conducted on July 1█, 200█
Subject: D-5672
Exposure time: 5:19
Result: Subject complained about being watched at 3:09. At 4:12, D-5672 began to urge Dr. █████ to release him from SCP-XXXX. Subject vocalised screams of pain at 5:17. Life signs ceased at 5:19.
Test 2 conducted on July 2█, 200█
Subject: D-0981
Exposure time: 3:19
Result: D-0981 reported the feelings of being watched around 3:17, and was promptly removed from the entity on 3:19. Subject has reported difficulty sleeping ever since exposure.
Test 3 conducted on September 1█, 200█
Subject: D-6518
Exposure time: 4:28
Result: D-6518 reported no feelings of being watched but at 4:28 reported witnessing diamond eyes deep below him and demanded to be set free. D-6518 now reports restless sleep and continues to be monitored by Foundation ophthalmologists for vision related disorders including witnessing eyes in her peripheral vision.
Test 4 conducted on November 2█, 200█
Subject: D-2782
Exposure time: 7:21
Result: See Interview Log XXXX-2782
Incident-XXXX refers to the events that occurred after D-2782 was reintroduced to SCP-XXXX. After 30 seconds submerged within the entity, D-2782 reported that “it was swimming towards him” before all life signs ceased.
Upon opening SCP-XXXX, no traces of D-2782 could be found among the saline solution. Dr. Heather █████ became worried about the lack of consistent results and requested the Facility staff trigger a containment breach and locate the remains of D-2782.
D-2782’s remains were found floating 2km offshore of Site-27, drifting in the Atlantic Ocean.
When a recovery team was sent to recover the remains, they reported feelings of being watched and became paranoid. They were ordered to withdraw from the area.
As of Incident XXXX, containment procedures have been updated to reflect the new nature of SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX no longer exhibits anomalous effects and is to be considered a neutralized object with all containment efforts focused upon SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the contaminated sector of the Atlantic Ocean currently at a dimension of 334km x 334kmx 334km. SCP-XXXX-1’s anomalous effects activate once any vessel passes or within SCP-XXXX-1. All living creatures present enter a coma and begin to undergo the same effects as exposure to SCP-XXXX. After 5 minutes of exposure to SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2 manifests directly within the area.
SCP-XXXX-2 resembles a Mosasaurus hoffmannii with the skull of a Capra aegagrus hircus (Domesticated Goat)). The entity is 75m in length and its skull is 6m in length. SCP-XXXX-2 locates the victims under the effects of SCP-XXXX-1 and consumes them.
SCP-XXXX-2, through currently unknown means, is able to redistribute the contents of the human body. It utilises the calcium in the bone structures to repair its skull. This has been witnessed when MTF Epsilon-33 (“Nessie Hunters”) fired upon SCP-XXXX-2 after it had fed on the crew members of USS Florida. As it was driven back, it repaired its cellular structure and cranial damage. It finally proceeded to regurgitate the liquid contents of the human bodies it had consumed back into the area of SCP-XXXX-1. This liquid content seems to serve the purpose of expanding SCP-XXXX-1’s volume with a one human body's worth of regurgitated liquid expanding the area by 1km in each direction.
