Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4275 is to be stored in a basic concrete room measuring 3m by 3m by 3m at minimum. SCP-4275 Is not to be visible from outside the containment room. No personal below level 3 authorization is to look at SCP-4275 without authorization of two (2) level 4 administrators and a check-up by two (2) on-site psychologists to declare the subject is mentally stable. (See Incident-01)
If access to view SCP-4275 is given to a person at least three (3) level 3 or higher Security personal are to escort them.
Any personnel that has looked into the mirror for more than thirty (30) seconds is to be placed on psychological leave with a minimum of one (1) week lasting until they are evaluated as mentally stable by on-site psychologists
SCP-4275 Is unable to move on itself or cause any direct harm and is thus currently classified as "Safe". It is to be discussed if SCP-4275 should be moved to Euclid after Incident-01
Although SCP-4275 can be touched it is advised to not do so directly.
Description: SCP-4275 resembles an antique square mirror measuring 100cm tall by 40cm wide. The mirror is within a well detailed dark wooden frame. The mirror itself does not show any cracks when photographed or recorded.
When any subject looks into the mirror they will slowly see a spiderweb like crack develop somewhere on their body over the course of 30 seconds. The location of the crack is different for every person. It seems that the happier the person is with themselves and their life-style the smaller the crack will be when fully developed. In addition identical twins who have been raised the same often report their cracks to be in almost the same location with small differences in size. (See Addendum-01)
Why cracks appear different to every person is still mostly unknown apart from the fact that the happier the person is the smaller the crack will be. If a crack is reported to be over 7cm (2 inch) the viewer is to be taken into psychological care as this only occurs if the viewer is highly distressed about something in their life. The location of the crack it's occurrence is yet to be explained. However subjects who have their cracks near their heart will often ask for a break to meet up with a loved one nearby. And cracks near the head are often found if the subject is going through any form of depression (See Addendum-01)
Addendum-01: A group of 7 volunteer personnel has been taken to test. Each subject was escorted by three (3) level 3 security guards incase of emergency
- Subject: Adam and Steve [DATA EXPLUNGED] (Twins)
- Subject Information: Adam and Steve are identical male twins of age 23 who have always been together. Anything they do is always together too.
- Results: Both Adam and Steve pointed out that their cracks were to the right and a couple centimeters below their heart. Adam measured his crack to be 2.4cm while Steve measure his to be 2.7cm. When questioned later it turned out Steve has always been a bit jealous of Adam
- Subject: Sophie Lynwood
- Subject Information: 29, Female, Lives Alone, Sees psychologists every week for depression issues
- Results: Reported to have a crack near her head. Size measured in at 4cm. This is assumed to be related to her depression.
- Subject: Jones Gray
- Subject Information: 21, Male, Lives with his roommate and currently a student
- Results: Jones reported seeing a crack nearer to his belly. When questioned if he knew how he joked it might have to do with his sexual frustration as his girlfriend recently left him.
- Subject: Dr.███
- Subject information: 43, Male, Divorced recently
- Results: Reported to have a crack near his head that kept growing past the 30 second mark. Dr.███ then ran out of the facility and was later found dead. For further details see Incident-01
- Subject Ann Blue
- Subject Information: 57, Female, Married
- Results: Reported seeing a crack of 3.6cm at her heart. After the experiment asked if she could see her husband who works on the site. Permission was granted and a security personnel escorted her to her husband Dr.Dann
Incident-01: Dr.███ was authorized to look at SCP-4275 before any psychological requirements we're made. Dr.███ Looked into SCP-4275 for 30 seconds and reported seeing a crack near his forehead when the 30 seconds passed. After the initial 30 seconds passed Dr.███ kept reporting that the crack was spreading and becoming bigger. At 47 seconds they rushed out of the room and out of the site. Out of concern a search was set out security. After a while Dr.███'s dead body was found in a calm river nearby the site. After examination the cause of death was concluded to be the result of Dr.███ smashing their skull open on a stone found near the body.
Since Incident-01 psychological clearance must be given by two (2) on-site psychologists in addition to the level 3 authorization issue before seeing SCP-4275
