Clearance Level 3: Confidential
Containment Class: Safe
Disruption Class: KENEQ
Risk: Danger
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 10 m x 10 m x 10 m, 10 cm thick glass cage at all times. The container is installed with heating lamps that keep a constant temperature of 165°C inside. The floor of the container has 1 cm wide drains to prevent the overflow of sauce on the container floor. Access to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell requires two level 3 access cards to be used at once. SCP-XXXX’s containment cell is to be put in another containment cell with its own power source, temperature system, and two level 3 keycard access doors, containment procedures to be the same. At all times, no personnel is to be let in the container while SCP-XXXX is unfrozen unless granted permission by the site director and for the specified reason of testing. When moving SCP-XXXX, the temperature of the containment cell and facility ███-█ is to be lowered to -15°C. D-Class should clean the container on a monthly basis.
When moving SCP-XXXX, facility temperatures are to be lowered to -15°C so that SCP-XXXX becomes frozen unable to move or spread its spores on to personnel entering containment. In the event that SCP-XXXX is unfrozen while not in containment, all personnel are to flee the scene immediately, including all facility guards. Only the engineering team will be permitted to stay on-site to fix temperature systems to subdue SCP-XXXX.
See Addendum XXXX-1 for further notes
SCP-XXXX appears to be a humanoid creature consisting entirely of what appears to be meatballs. SCP-XXXX is roughly 2.8m tall with 15 cm meatball-like spores. These spores sometimes leak a substance closely resembling marinara sauce and has a strong onion smell. The substance is safe to the touch and does not have spore-like properties of spreading, unlike the meatball spores.
SCP-XXXX is normally docile and while being humanoid, lacks the ability to walk with its legs and can only move by slugging its body around. SCP-XXXX will become enraged, move, and attack others when they come within a 2 meter radius of SCP-XXXX. While SCP-XXXX is enraged, its movement speeds up a noticeable amount similar to that of a scared cat and will attempt to touch its meatball like spores with the subject. In the event that the spores touch the subject, the subject will start to grow the spores from the initial point of contact. The spread of spores will not stop until the subject has been fully covered and taken over by said spores. At this point, the subject becomes an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and behaves in a way that suggests that SCP-XXXX has hive mind abilities. SCP-XXXX can be examined to show slight recoil when SCP-XXXX-1 is hurt or dies. In the event that SCP-XXXX-1 is killed before the spores are to spread on to the Subject’s head, the spread of spores will stop and SCP-XXXX-1 will cease to be animated.
SCP-XXXX is shown to freeze up when it is below freezing temperatures of 0°C. In the event that SCP-XXXX is to be frozen, it can be thawed out with the temperatures returned to 165°C.
When a photo of SCP-XXXX is taken, the photo will appear as normal meatballs often on plates as is the same with individual spores. This anomaly is only avoided when SCP-XXXX is drawn or his exact figure is not captured. Reasons as to why this is the case is still unknown and further testing is needed. One idea is that this is SCP-XXXX’s natural defense for not making his presence known. Dr. █████ states that he feels this is a win for the Foundation as chances of SCP-XXXX’s exposure to the public are close to none.
Experiment log is headed by Dr. █████ to research the effects of consumption of SCP-XXXX-1’s meatball spore.
D-XXXX is a 32-year-old ex-gang member with a long history of violence and theft. D-XXXX is placed in a room with a meatball spore from SCP-XXXX-1 on a plate. The following was recorded via video camera in testing room A-02.
D-XXXX: So what's this? I didn't know it was lunchtime already.
Scientists audibly sigh.
D-XXXX: Okay, sorry. I’m just trying to make the most of it ya know.
Dr. █████: Please take a seat.
D-XXXX complies. Subject sits down in front of the plate with SCP-XXXX-1’s spore.
Dr. █████: Please pick up the fork and eat the meatball.
D-XXXX: Oh, no way this is not that bad. Ya know next time some sauce would be nice…maybe a little bit of cranberry sauce or gravy, but whatever its okay, I don't mind.
Dr. █████: Eat the meatball.
D-XXXX complies. He picks up the fork and eats a part of the meatball.
D-XXXX: Oh, wow, there's actually sauce in this thing, it's really not that bad.
Dr. █████: Describe the meatball please.
D-XXXX: Yeah, okay, um, the meatball tastes quite nice, ‘kinda like it's made of pork, but I'm not too sure. I can tell that there's oregano in this, cus, like, there's a lot of it.
Dr. █████: Do you feel anything strange of any kind?
D-XXXX: No, I can't say I really do. Yooooo, you guys didn't put anything in this meatball right? Maybe I'm testing out a new recipe for the site.
Dr. █████ Remains silent. Meatball spores can be seen rapidly growing on the back of D-XXXX. Security officers are deployed in case of a containment breach.
D-XXXX’s cell temperatures are lowered to -5°C as per containment procedures during which D-XXXX becomes a “spawn” of SCP-XXXX. D-XXXX will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1-A. SCP-XXXX-1-A, once frozen, is shattered and disposed of.
Documentation XXXX-2, of Experiment XXXX-2
Experiment log is headed by Dr. █████ to research SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties of photo alteration.
D-XXXX is a 25-year-old male charged with multiple cases of: possession of illegal substances and being under the influence while operating heavy machinery. D-XXXX enters SCP-XXXX’s secondary cell, is given a digital camera, and is asked to take pictures of said SCP. The following was recorded via video camera in SCP-XXXX Containment Cell A-2.
D-XXXX: So you just want me to take a picture of that thing whatever it is?
Dr. █████: Yes that is correct.
D-XXXX: Okay but how do I know that this camera isn’t the real SCP I’m testing?
Dr. █████: It's not.
D-XXXX: My cell partner told me about this one guy that took a picture using a camera your people gave him and his legs just turned into tree stumps.
Dr. █████: That is not true.
D-XXXX: How can I trust you though.
Dr. █████: If you do not comply I will have to send the guards.
D-XXXX: Okay okay I get it, I’ll take the darn picture.
D-XXXX takes a picture of SCP-XXXX using the camera.
Dr. █████: What do you see?
D-XXXX: Oh, what’s in the camera or just that thing in general?
Dr. █████: In your camera.
D-XXXX: Yeah wow that is strange.
Dr. █████: Describe what you see.
D-XXXX: I see a normal plate of meatballs…are you sure this camera isn’t the SCP?
Dr. █████: Describe the plate of meatballs.
D-XXXX: Yeah there's a couple of meatballs on a metal tray plate thing and there seems to be sauce spilling from the meatballs. Seems like gravy but I’m not too sure.
Dr. █████: Thank you. You may head back to your cell or the leisure area as you have finished your testing for the day.
D-XXXX: Oh thank god, I really thought I was gonna die today. You know that teleporting slime is no joke, scary stuff.
D-XXXX leaves SCP-XXXX’s secondary containment cell and returns the camera back to staff. Photo taken by D-5784 of SCP-XXXX digitized for records.

[1600 Time, Research Area ███]
Capt. █████████: These fucking scientists man, they never tell you everything. But why would they…probably want to see us die or something.
Dr. █████: Do you need a moment captain?
Capt. █████████: No…I’m fine.
Dr. █████: Describe the mission please.
Capt. █████████: Yeah, alright. It was like any other mission my team went on. We get the report, we load up on gear, we leave and find whatever the thing is, we capture it, and we go home and have a beer or two. This time however it was just weirder and a lot more dangerous.
Dr. █████: Elaborate on the danger.
Capt. █████████: Well, it really wouldn't have been dangerous if your people just gave us the right intel, but I guess even you guys didn't know that [information].
Dr. █████: What information?
Capt. █████████: The thing infects people, with all its saucy meatball… balls. They just latch on to you and you just start growing these meatballs, so fucking fast too. And my… my second in command. Oh…oh…no…
Dr. █████: Are you referring to Lieutenant ███?
Capt. █████████: Yeah…He was one of my best men ya know? If only we had more intel.
Dr. █████: Please describe what happened to Lieutenant ███.
Capt. █████████: So we went on to the site where that thing was said to be. It was this nice restaurant. We kicked down the door, threw some tear gas in and waited for all the civilians to be knocked out, and then we pushed in. Did the same thing with the kitchen but we didn't find the SCP we were told to find, until Lt. ███ heard some noises from the basement.
Dr. █████: What were those noises?
Capt. █████████: It was that thing, this meatball human thing.
Dr. █████: What was this “meatball human thing” doing?
Capt. █████████: It was locked up in the basement and just standing there. It didn't do anything. Until Lt. ███ went to see what it was. He just got close to the thing and it grabbed on to him and its meatball balls started growing on him. We all shot at it, but our bullets didn’t do shit. Who knew that meatballs wouldn't be affected by bullets.
Dr. █████: What happened to Lt. ███?
Capt. █████████: His body just…started to grow those meatballs. It was everywhere, from his arms to his torso and spread up and down his neck and legs. And then he…he attacked us.
Dr. █████: He attacked you?
Capt. █████████: Yeah his body was covered in the meatballs and it reached his head or brain or something I guess.
Dr. █████: What did you do?
Capt. █████████: I had to do what I had to do, I…I…I…shot him. I shot Lt. ███…
Dr. █████: Where exactly did you shoot him if your bullets had no effect on the meatballs?
Capt. █████████: I…I shot him in his head…It was the only way…
Dr. █████: I understand, you may now leave.
Capt. █████████ leaves the room with visible discomfort.

[1800 Time, Research Area ███]
Dr. █████: I'm sorry about your loss lieutenant.
Lt █████: Yeah that's just what happens in this job ya know, get to the questions.
Dr. █████: Right, anyway I understand that it was Capt. █████████ that shot and killed Lt. ███, is that true?
Lt █████: Yes, it was granted in self defence as Lt. ███ tried to attack him[Capt. █████████].
Dr. █████: Yes that is correct, could you tell us a little bit more about the actual restaurant?
Lt █████: Yeah sure the restaurant was a fine modest place, somewhere you would take a first date to.
Dr. █████: I wasn't asking for a recommendation lieutenant.
Lt █████: Right sorry, the restaurant was in a commercial area but securing the perimeters wasn't hard as there weren't any guards on site.
Dr. █████: What was the basement area like?
Lt █████: The basement entrance didn't seem to have any extra protection for some reason considering people were disappearing in there.
Dr. █████: So for the record, the entrance to the basement didn't have any extra protection? So only the standard key lock?
Lt █████: Yes that's correct. The inside of the basement had quite a lot of mold growing especially from the freezer but I think that was from the sheer time that the meat was in there for and not from the SCP.
Dr. █████: Let it be noted on record, that we have no idea the amount of time the SCP was in the confinement of the basement for. Now as you know we had reports of people missing in the basement, was there any trace left of them?
Lt █████: It's strange now that you mention it but I don't remember seeing any extra meatball people. There was a surplus of meatball remains on the basement floor with mold growing from them.
Dr. █████: Do you think that it's possible that the meatball people were discarded?
Lt █████: That could be an idea but then again i'm not exactly one of you scientists.
Dr. █████: Just wanted to get an opinion from someone who was at the site.
Lt █████: I see.
Dr. █████: Well that's it lieutenant, thank you for your time you may now leave.
Lieutenant █████ gets up from his chair and leaves the room.
Dr. █████: Noted on record that the mental state of XXX seems to be more stable than his colleague Capt. █████████.

Incident #: XXXX-A
Date of Occurrence: ██,██,20██
Estimated Casualties: 1
Retrieval team Hotel 4-B was sent to █████,█████ to investigate multiple reports of strange noises and disappearing staff in the restaurant.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, the retrieval team performs standard site securing procedures. It was after investigating the kitchen that Lieutenant ███ heard noises coming from the basement of the restaurant. Lt. ███ enters the basement and sees SCP-XXXX. Unsure of what SCP-XXXX was at first glance, Lt. ███ gets closer to SCP-XXXX at which point SCP-XXXX enters an enraged stage. The rest of Hotel 4-B rushes to the basement to the aid of Lt. ███ only to discover the spores have spread up to Lt. ███’s neck. Capt. █████████ is reported to have shot Lt. ███ in the head, stopping the spread of the meatball like spores.
Secondary teams of researchers were sent to site after Hotel 4-B cleared the restaurant. The researchers gathered a sample from Lt. ███ for the use of further testing.
Noted that Lt. ███ will be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 in testing documentations.
Noted that incident report was given by the rest of Retrieval team Hotel 4-B, excluding Captain █████████
Incident #: XXXX-1
Date of Occurrence: █,██,20██
Estimated Casualties: 17
At an estimated time of 1400 two D-class personnel were sent to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell for routine cleaning. Following protocol the facility was lowered to 0 C. It was during the moving process that temperature systems started to glitch and internal temperatures were increased to 165 C. With increase in temperatures, SCP-XXXX became unfrozen and grew enraged as both D-Class had not fled the scene. Both D-Class were then touched by SCP-XXXX, prompting said personnel to start to grow the spores. The spores then completely enveloped the D-Class’s body and had become an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2.
SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 then began to attack scientists and facility personnel. After an estimated time of ██min, engineers had temperature systems back online and temperatures were reduced to -15 C to more quickly subdue SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX was later put back into confinement after scheduled cleaning was performed by two new D-Class. SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are also frozen, shattered, and later disposed of.
Secondary containment cell installed in the event of containment breach.
SCP-XXXX was contained from a restaurant basement in █████,█████. Reports were made detailing strange noises and disappearing personnel from the restaurant basement. The reports were later traced and taken possession of by the Foundation. Foundation retrieval team Hotel 4-B will be sent to location on ██,█,████, in order to investigate and attempt the capture and containment of any anomalies. Since retrieval of SCP-XXXX, the restaurant has been shut down independently, and plans for a SCP Foundation front have been set with renovations starting in ██,█,████.
Hotel 4-B will be lead by Captain █████████, Lieutenant ███, █████,and █████████. Retrieval team Hotel 4-B is to report any K-Class scenarios immediately back to the O5 council.
After Incident-XXXX-A, Lt. ███ has been deemed KIA. A sample of meatball spore has been collected from Lt. ███ who will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 in any specific documentation regarding Lt. ███. Retrieval team Hotel 4-B will now be decommissioned until further notice. Captain █████████ has refused to give a written report of the mission. The medical team decides this choice is the most beneficial for Capt. █████████’s mental health.
Following Incident-XXXX-1, the entirety of facility ███-█ is to have special cooling vents that will bring facility temperatures to -15 C. This is to ensure that SCP-XXXX will freeze up and not escape foundation facilities or endanger foundation personnel. SCP-XXXX’s cell will also be contained behind a secondary cell with its own power supply, temperature system, and two level 3 key card access doors..
