DRAW'ER IN

Item Class: SCP - 5783
Clearance: 4/Confidential
Containment Class: Euclid
Disruption Class: Vlam
Risk: Warning
Special Containment Procedures: SCP - 5783 is to be kept in any form of clearance protected room.
All walls of the containment cell must be non-see-through and airtight. SCP - 5783 is currently contained in a sealed concrete room with a plain metal door on site █

Description: SCP - 5783 is a drawer shelf, holding 5 (five) slots.
SCP-5783 is formed from a Polypropylene-like substance, with the dimensions of 25/110/25 : X/Y/Z (cm), and the capacity of 68.75 Litres.
SCP-5783 has been classified as a mind-altering object, able to lure pedestrians by displaying their desires within it's drawer.
Some of SCP-5783's effects are: distribution of a pheromone - like substance (1st attraction phase); displaying dopamine-stimulating objects inside of drawers (2nd attraction phase).
SCP - 5783 was found in a toxic waste disposal in ARKHANGELSK OBLAST, NOVAYA ZELMA district, Russia.
The toxic waste disposal was located near the "Central Test Site of Russian Federation on Novaya Zemlya".

SCP-5783's creation is associated with Harry Blackstone Sr.
In an attempt to create a revolutionary illusion, Harry Blackstone gathered a convergence of chemists to theorize upon the creation of a plastic polymer, capable of naturally attracting human senses. To do so, the convergence has decided to extract pheromones from a variety of female volunteers.
No studies have shown a concrete existence of Pheromones, but some came close.

"Androstenol is the putative female pheromone. In a 1978 study by Kirk-Smith, people wearing surgical masks treated with Androstenol or untreated were shown pictures of people, animals and buildings and asked to rate the pictures on attractiveness. Individuals with their masks treated with Androstenol rated their photographs as being "warmer" and "more friendly"."

- Kirk-Smith, Michael (1978). "Human social attitudes affected by Androstenol". Research Communications in Psychology, Psychiatry & Behavior. 3 (4): 379–384.

The convergence Harry has gathered firmly proved the effectiveness of the Androstenol on humans, and all information from the convergence's studies has been classified, and remains so to the public eye.

Hiding the study was crucial, as some of the actions and the use of some chemicals was not legal at the time.

To find the correct relations between plastic and Androstenol, the convergence used a "trial and error" approach. the first relation was very uneven, and resulted in an unstable plastic. A distinct lack of molecular bonds has occurred whilst making the prototype.
A different value was used the second time, and proved to be useless. Ultimately, the convergence used a ratio of 1:1 (Plastic : Androstenol). After proving successful, the convergence shaped the newly made material, into the magic prop.
The plastic served Harry well. Perhaps too well. The estimated record of SCP-5783, is as follows : Prior to a show, Harry's crew has managed to lose track of the drawer, and was then supposedly picked up by a civilian. The drawer made it's way to Russia, and was then discarded as unimportant. The Russian guard found SCP-5783, and was lured in.

The Russian Guard:
Reports were made concerning the disappearance of a Russian guard at around 32 years of age, on patrol around the border of the facility.
As the local police were investigating the case, video evidence was found on a nearby security camera.
It appears that the subject wandered into the waste disposal, and was evidently lured in by SCP-5783.
Local police work was terminated by ███ ████████, as soon as the case became publicly accessible.

ADDENDUM 5783 01 : Trapped inside
Researchers concluded the presence of the Russian guard inside of SCP-5783, and theorized his release.

Substitution will be provided to SCP-5783, in exchange for the Russian guard.

Interviewed: D-8834

Interviewer: Dr. ██████ ████████

Foreword: D-8834 before entering SCP-5783's containment

<Begin Log, ██/0█/2020, 19:34>

Dr. ██████ ████████: D-8834, please state delivered instructions.

D-8834: First, for goin' in ere, I get time off of my sentence aight'?

Dr. ██████ ████████: Yes. Please state delivered instructions.

D-8834: One sec. How much time off?

Dr. ██████ ████████: 10 years. As arranged. Now please state delivered instructions.

D-8834: Im bouta' go in the cell, and i'm gonna look at whatever's in there. "Upon entering, you will place a camera on a tripod, pointing at the object inside of the room. An earpiece will also be given. You may not take the earpiece off for the entirety of your stay in the containment cell. Misplacing the earpiece is a violation of our agreement." or some [DATA EXPUNGED].

Dr. ██████ ████████: Correct. Thank you for your co-operation. you may take the camera. We will be monitoring everything from outside, through the earpiece. You may enter the cell.

<End Log, ██/0█/2020, 19:36>

Closing Statement: Objective - D-8834 will supposedly replace the Russian guard. If so, the Russian guard's terminology will be changed to SCP-5783-1.

Upon entering the cell, D-8834 follows orders, and the camera has a clear angle on SCP-5783. D-8834 proceeds to examine SCP-5783, and appears unaffected. D-8834 inquires about his task, and is told to approach SCP-5783. Upon approaching D-8834 enters a trance of sorts, and stares at SCP-5783 for approximately 2 (two) minutes. All attempts at contacting D-8834 result in a static breathing from the other end of the line. After 2:30 minutes, D-8834 suddenly appears to regain consciousness and manages to convey a steady hum. D-8834 approaches the drawer handle with his hand. No attempts at conversation have been met with success. D-8834 touches SCP-8834 and is apparently swapped with SCP-8834-1.

SCP-5783-1 was kept in starvation and is currently in the hands of site █ medical team.

ADDENDUM 5783 02 : Not anymore

By the time of the interview, SCP-5783-1 has recovered from starvation.

Interviewed: SCP-5783-1

Interviewer: Dr. ██████ ████████

Dr. ██████ ████████: Do you speak English?

SCP-5783-1: нет

Dr. ██████ ████████: (To staff) May we get a Translator here please?

[Translator Arrives]

SCP-5783-1: Привет! Вы говорите по-русски?

Translator: да.

SCP-5783-1: хорошо. теперь мы можем поговорить

Dr. ██████ ████████: We will from now on refer to you as SCP-5783-1. Is this acceptable?

Translator: мы будем называть вас SCP-5783-1. это приемлемо?

SCP-5783-1: конечно! чем могу помочь?

Dr. ██████ ████████: We will ask you a series of questions. Question number one: Do you remember anything from inside of SCP-5783?

Translator: Вы помните что-нибудь из SCP-5783?

SCP-5783-1: нет. но у меня было все, что я хотел.

Dr. ██████ ████████: Were you consciously starved? Did you know what was going on?

Translator: Знаете ли вы, что происходит?

SCP-5783-1: я не спал, но я не заметил голода

Dr. ██████ ████████: Are you aware of what happe-

[ALARM]

Dr. ██████ ████████: Ah [DATA EXPUNGED]. We will have to continue this sometime else. SCP-5783-1, please return to containment until further notice.

<End Log, 0█/0█/2020, 14:16>

Closing Statement: SCP-5783-1 shows no signs of distress regarding the occurrence. SCP-5783-1's examination will be continued, and until further notice, will remain in a safe cell on site █. NOTE TO FUTURE INTERVIEWERS: Be prepared for cultural and lingual shock. Approach with translator (Human or not).

Due to the fire alarm, the interview will be postponed until site █ is once again secured. Although the fire might not have been immensely dangerous, crew is instructed to evacuate until site is secured.
