Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a low light (below 400 lumens recommended) room with cameras and sonar imaging tools to detect and monitor its activities. All entrances to SCP-XXXX are to be a two part security check room with one entrance and one exit with sonar sensors, one window that is a triple panned, 76 mm, and should have a complete view of security room from the other side. The other side of the check room is to be a monitoring room that is completely detached from XXXX’s containment chamber, and is to contain all monitoring equipment used on XXXX including camera feeds, sonar readings, and lighting controls.
Any personnel entering SCP-XXXX chambers should avoid shining direct light on SCP-XXXX so as to maintain visual contact with it, and be mindful of their distance so as to not agitate SCP-XXXX. Personnel should also avoid pointing weapons and appearing nervous around SCP-XXXX as it has been know to attack when it feels threatened.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a black bipedal creature with similar features to the canis genus. SCP-XXXX’s enitre body is a consistent black color including hair, eyes, and skin as well as the insides of mouth and ears. It has a short fur coat, best suited for temperate climates, and razor like teeth and claws. Its arm like appendages are more similar to front legs with its hands acting more like feet. its body it is very hunched over resting close to a 35 degree angle, and has shown to move on all fours when hunting prey reaching speed of ██ km/hr.
SCP-XXXX is only visible in low light environment and become completely invisible in 800 lumen environments or higher. Using infrared vision has shown to be ineffective at maintaining visual contact with SCP-XXXX as it gives off no body heat and becomes consistent with the air temperature of its environment. Sonar imaging technology has shown to be the only truly consist method of locating SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX’s anomolies properties seem to be a near perfect evolutionary camouflage. One must rely on physical touch and sound alone to locate SCP-XXXX in natural light environments. In a dim lit environment comparable to half moon moonlite (exact lumen value is subjective) its shadowy appearance is most visible but still difficult to track due to the decrease in visibility. As such a balance between acceptable visibility and darkness is required for SCP-XXXX’s chambers for the purpose of study.
SCP-XXXX is a silent predator, and attempts to make as little noise as possible as it stalks prey. It was found in ██████ and has shown to hunt any land based animal for food. It seems to avoid human, avian, and aquatic entities only attacking or killing them as a form of self defense.
The foundation has found no other instances of SCP-XXXX, its age is unknown, and the quality of its health is undeterminable at this time. An attempt to gather a DNA sample of SCP-XXXX has been made for a more in depth study but the uniformity of its body even on a molecular level, showing no deviation from the consistent black hue, has made discerning cell structure and DNA strands impossible. Due to the difficulties in researching SCP-XXXX’s anomalies properties the Foundation has decided to begin a series of tests beginning on ██/██/████ and spanning to ██/██/████, in an attempt to learn the limits of the anomalous properties.
