Seeking Greenlights: Yes

Page Type: SCP Article

Elevator Pitch: A sapient, lonely walkie talkie; found in the back of a convenience store in Stockbridge, Wisconsin. It has to be with only one person at all times. It will become distressed when multiple people are in the room, and even only 2 people will cause it distress. It has an innate sense of knowing how many people are in the room, and knows the entire shape of the room it's in and the inhabitants despite not being able to see.

Central Narrative: The story will revolve around conversation logs and a containment procedure revision. Before revision, a D-Class tells the SCP her favorite poem, and the SCP is able to recite it. The poem reminds her of her family, so it reminds the SCP of its family; the other walkie talkie. When the D-Class is then replaced with another, to remember her the SCP teaches subsequent D-Class to recite the poem. After revision, they found another walkie talkie with the same properties, dubbed SCP-XXXX-1. The need for a human to accompany the SCP is no longer needed since SCP-XXXX-1 is the replacement.

Hook/Attention-Grabber: This is an object SCP that isn't just something you lock in a glass box and take notes on. This is something that you need to attend to at all times…quite literally. Not in the form of a security camera, guards, or a procedure, but through indefinite company with the SCP. In terms of story, I want to make the reader sympathize with the SCP's and D-Class' loneliness, but also give them hope through heartwarming moments, which leads up to the revision which is a happy ending for both of them.

Additional Notes: I am considering making a third revision that will take the story towards a pessimistic direction (but I still want it to be heartwarming). There's no guarantee that it'll be in the final draft, but you can ask what it is.
