Current instance of SCP-XXXX-A

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Threat Level: Yellow

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard Safe Class locker in Site-19. Any access to SCP-XXXX must be approved by Level 3 personnel. For all non-experiment based physical contact with SCP-XXXX, personnel are required to wear neoprene gloves and avoid skin contact of any kind. In the event of a containment breach involving an instance of SCP-XXXX-B, the subject is to be held in confinement until a body-weight scale is brought in close proximity to them. The subject will then be forcibly fed any available food (excluding human meat), which will cause SCP-XXXX to relocate to the aforementioned scale. Traumatized subjects can be administered Class-A amnestics if requested.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a cognitohazard that will reside in either a single body-weight scale or a single person at a given time. SCP-XXXX can transfer itself from one host to another,.1 A body-weight scale hosting SCP-XXXX (henceforth classified as SCP-XXXX-A) does not change in any observable way, making it very difficult to know whether or not it is an instance of SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX will remain within the scale until an able-bodied person makes direct skin contact with SCP-XXXX-A. When this occurs, that person will become the new host and subsequently classified as SCP-XXXX-B. If hosted by a human, SCP-XXXX will remain with them until SCP-XXXX-B dies, is permanently incapacitated, or is forcibly fed anything that is not human meat (See Experiment Log XXXX-A). At that point, SCP-XXXX will relocate to the nearest body-weight scale in proximity to SCP-XXXX-B.

Upon becoming SCP-XXXX-B, the subject will feel compelled to weigh themselves on the scale. If SCP-XXXX-B successfully learns of their weight, they will start experiencing high levels of stress as a result of obsessive body dysmorphia. Regardless of their BMI, they will consider themselves morbidly underweight and begin to seek food. Subjects will maintain all memories, emotions, and aspects of their personalities that are not altered by SCP-XXXX.

In addition to their perception of self, SCP-XXXX-B's perception of their surroundings is altered. Key changes include:

  • All non-human organisms cannot be perceived by them.
  • All potential food not prepared by SCP-XXXX-B cannot be perceived by them2 (excluding humans).
  • All humans are perceived as various farm animals to them.3

Believing them to be livestock, SCP-XXXX-B will attempt to butcher and eat any humans they come across. If successful, SCP-XXXX-B will then "prepare" any collected meat by utilizing available culinary appliances and utensils. No food is ever actually cooked, however, as they will merely mime the actions needed to create a source of heat. If there are no appliances or utensils available, SCP-XXXX-B will perceive nonexistent ones and use them. Instances of SCP-XXXX-B, if not terminated, die of thirst after an average of ten days due to a lack of desire to drink water.
