Object Classes Ordered
(This isn’t a draft; this is just something I felt like making, and something I don’t intend to share on the main website)
-Simple-
Thaumiel - Contributive to containment of other SCPs
Neutralized - Has last any anomalous abilities, and therefore does not require containment
Decommissioned - Has not lost anomalous abilities, and has only been terminated; could still require containment, even if containment is very easy to maintain
Explained - Abilities are no longer “anomalous”, but still affect how difficult it is to contain (if containment is still necessary)
Safe - Easy to contain
Euclid - Complicated to contain
Keter - Very difficult to contain
-Difficult-

Researcher Ian █████ handling SCP-XXXX-1 sludge
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1-1 is contained in a standard humanoid containment cell. All areas infected by SCP-XXXX-1 are to be sealed off using 15 centimeter thick concrete walls and a single airlock installed to provide access for MTF-Xi-13 ("New Leif"). All personnel exposed to SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXXX-2 are to be quarantined for 24 hours. Equipment that comes into contact with SCP-XXXX-1 is to be cleaned with a 5% hydrogen peroxide solution and heated to 70˚C for two hours for disinfection.
After an exploration, instances of SCP-XXXX-2 found within affected areas, are to be transported to Exploration Site-02. SCP-XXXX-1 fluids and spores are to be cleared using incendiary and chemical means.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is an airborne fungal infection found within enclosed underground spaces in the Appalachian Mountain Range. SCP-XXXX-1 has an infection rate of 98%. Individuals infected with SCP-XXXX-1 experience altered mental state, fatigue, a change in skin tone, anemia, perspiration, migraines, cough, hallucinations, and joint pain. These symptoms subside after two days. 96 hours after initial exposure, infected individuals become instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
Upon conversion into SCP-XXXX-2, SCP-XXXX-1 changes the physiology of SCP-XXXX-2, leading to increased muscle mass, bone density, resilience to diseases, and sustained health. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are connected to a collective consciousness of all SCP-XXXX-2 instances along with an unknown individual. As of Addendum XXXX.2, the individual has been identified as Patient Zero, referred to as SCP-XXXX-1-1.

RECORDED PHONE CALL
[BEGIN CALL]
Unknown: I would like to report some major pollution.
Dr.███████: Who is this?
Sheppards: I am Park Ranger Sheppards. I'm a park ranger with Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. I think there is a chemical spill close to the [REDACTED] trail.
Dr.███████: Please elaborate.
Sheppards: It's this black sludge covering the ground coming from who knows where. It's covered a pretty large hill. It just looks disgusting.
Dr.███████: Are there any affects on local wildlife, Mr. Sheppards?
Sheppards: It looks like it's eating away at the trees, and I think I see a dead deer up ahead. It's just eating away at the ground and logs and…
The sound of falling and grunting can be heard coming from Mr. Sheppard's end.
Dr.███████: Are you ok? What happened?
Sheppards: I'm fine, but this tree sure isn't. This log rotted away to the point that it collapsed under my weight.
Dr.███████: We will send a team to clean up shortly. Keep tourists away from the sludge and do not go near the path until it is declared safe.
Sheppards: Will do.
[END CALL]
MTF-Xi-13 was contacted after the cleanup team described the spill as organic and unique.

[BEGIN LOG]
The sounds of a helicopter can be heard as audio cuts in.
Daedalus: Check check, mics are hot.
Reeves: Check.
Sullivan: Check.
Buck: Checkarooni.
Gary: Ready to shake and bake.
Daedalus: We are all good up here, command. Now, just what the hell have we been signed up for?
Command: We don't know much other than whatever it is; it is susceptible to fire, and is highly contagious, so you will be given incendiary weapons and suits with integrated respirators along with caving equipment. There was sludge around the entrance to the cave, but we have managed to clean most of it up.
Twelve minutes of extraneous dialogue removed.
The team's helicopter lands within ██████████ National Park. As the team exits, body mounted cameras show ~10 Foundation research personnel loosely grouped around a clearing leading to an infected cave. Team members exit helicopter and are given handguns with incendiary ammunition and are suited with hazmat suits, respirators, and climbing equipment.
Buck: Into the belly of the beast, I guess.
Team approaches the entrance to the cave and all members turn on their headlamps. Video feed shows patches of black fluid lining the cave's surface.
Reeves: Keep your eyes out for anything odd. There have been several reports of unknown individuals entering and exiting the cave.
Daedalus: I'm on it , Reeves. Basic scans show low temperature within the cave, along with non-specific tracks of humanoids. Old cave surveys show this one is not too deep, but it could have changed with the addition of the anomaly.
Gary: Any civies?
Daedalus: There were reports of lost campers in this area 4 years ago, but it may be unrelated.
Gary: There is no such thing as a coincidence.
Reeves: How old are these surveys?
Daedalus: 12 years old. Newest ones are 7, but they are not very accurate. Just basic sketches.
Sullivan: I see a chimney up ahead. Get ready to go further. I'll tie the rope to repel down.
The team descends further into the cave. Faint echoes of footsteps can be heard at an estimated distance of 20 meters. Upon landing, video feed shows thicker and larger puddles of the same black fluid.
Buck: Anyone else hear that? Sounds like there's a pack of something in here.
Sullivan: Yeah, I hear it too.
Reeves: Turn your safeties off, this may get sticky.
Buck: I'd hate to ruin your thunder, Reeves, but look at this shit on the ground. I don't see how this can get stickier.
The team rounds a corner and video feed shows several humanoids mindlessly walking around.
Gary: Ok, so we got some zombie shit going on.
Sullivan: Ok, I spot maybe 7 to 10. Think we can take 'em?
Reeves: Just a reminder, only use your weapons if absolutely necessary. We are here to research and explore, not eradicate.
Team members approach instances of SCP-XXXX-2. Instances stare blankly at the team and begin to approach.
Reeves: Hold your trigger fingers, they don't seem hostile.
Sullivan : They don't look nice either.
SCP-XXXX-2 instances walk up to Sullivan, Buck, and Daedalus. Cameras show smooth ashen skin , dilated pupils, and muscular builds on all of the instances.
Daedalus: Buck, that one by you looks like one of the campers from 4 years ago.
Buck: The lost ones? Shouldn't they have rotted by now?
Daedalus: Yes they should have, with the moisture of this cave and how long they have been down here, they should be no more than a pile of bones.
SCP-XXXX-2 instances suddenly jump on Buck and begin to bite at his suit. Sullivan, Reeves, and Daedalus open fire on the SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Gary crouches next to Buck to check for injury.
Buck: Fucking hell, Sullivan, watch your aim! You nearly scorched my arm off!
Gary runs over to Buck and inspects his suit.
Gary: You've got some minor damage to your suit, but some duct tape aught to patch that up.
Quick footsteps can be heard approaching the team. 4 instances of SCP-XXXX-2 run towards the team. Sullivan and Reeves fire on the SCP-XXXX-2, and the instances smolder after they fall to the ground. Gary patches Buck's suit, and no apparent contamination is observed.
Daedalus: Up ahead, there should be a chamber and an underground stream.
Buck: I'm going to the stream. Fu-uck that, I am not getting eaten again.
Reeves: Buck and Gary go to the stream, and Daedalus and I will go into the chamber. Sullivan, cover our rear.
Sullivan: C'mon, man, why am I put on guard duty?
Reeves: Because you nearly shot Buck. Let's go, Daedalus.
Gary and Buck follow along the edge of the stream as Daedalus and Reeves enter the chamber. Reeves' camera shows a large chamber covered in the black fluid. Crushed bones are found on the floor in the center of the chamber. The end of the chamber is collapsed.
Daedalus: Looks like human bones. I can see the end of a femur.
Reeves: Was this wall always collapsed?
Daedalus: According to the newer sketches, yes.
Reeves: Bag the bones for analysis, and get some of this… stuff while you are at it.
Gary and Buck continue to walk along the edge of the stream.
Buck: Fucking dead end. This is getting way too narrow to even crawl. Reeves, we're heading back.
Reeves: Let's wrap up this exploration. We've got some samples for research to investigate. Gary, how about you get some of the water for research? Might as well cover all our bases as to how this thing spread.
Gary: I'm on it, chief.
Reeves: And Sullivan, you wrap up and bring one of these… things up to the surface as well.
Team ascends to the surface and gives research personnel the black fluid, the bones found in the large chamber, water collected from the stream, and an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 for autopsy. Members of MTF-Xi-13 were quarantined for 24 hours to prevent contamination.
[END LOG]
Analysis of the black fluid shows that it was digested blood that was vomited by the SCP-XXXX-2 instances. As it decomposed in the lab, the fluid produced spores of SCP-XXXX-1. As found before, this fluid is highly flammable and leaves behind a sterilized form of SCP-XXXX-1. The fluid has a genetic signature similar to that of a Cherokee male.
Water collected from the underground stream showed traces of the black fluid, and over the course of ~2 hours, traces were gone.
Bones found within the large chamber had the genetic signature of Elizabeth ██████, a hiker lost in April of 20██, alongside her partner. The bones of Elizabeth ██████ showed blunt force trauma that likely caused death, bite marks were also found on the bones. Native American symbols of an unknown origin were found scribed into the bones.
Autopsy results confirmed identity of Franklin ██████, Elizabeth ██████'s brother who was lost alongside Franklin ██████ in a hiking accident. The SCP-XXXX-2 showed increased muscle and bone density, however a degradation of brain matter was observed. Autopsy also showed that Franklin ██████'s body was preserved by SCP-XXXX-1, but quickly decomposed within 5 hours after extraction.

[BEGIN LOG]
MTF-Xi-13 members arrive to suspected origin of SCP-XXXX.
Reeves: Up ahead, under the tree.
Sullivan: Is that actually it?
Reeves: Should be. Right distance, right area, and look at the cave's ceiling. We have some of that sludge.
Daedalus: Intel from research suggests that the "sludge" is actually digested blood that was regurgitated by SCP-XXXX-2 instances.
Gary: That is disgusting.
Buck: Ugh, I rolled around in that stuff when I got knocked over by one of those bastards.
MTF-Xi-13 descends down a rope ladder in front of the entrance to the cave.
Reeves: I'll contact command so they can put up an airlock. In the meantime, we should probably get in there and clear it out. Sullivan and I will be in front, Gary in the middle next to Daedalus, and Buck in the back.
Sullivan: Let's head in.
Team members step into the cave and activate their headlamps, showing a large quantity of the black fluid on all surfaces, dripping from ceiling. MTF-Xi-13 continues to descend into the cave for 6 minutes.
Daedalus: Hey, Buck, look at the floor… I'm not the only one seeing this, am I?
Buck: What the fuck is that?
Daedalus' camera shows various symbols of unknown Native American origin arranged in a circle. The center depicts a slim humanoid with a greenish hued skin tone, holding a spear and holding his arms out. Microphones pick up very faint walking sounds coming from further into the cave.
Buck: Hey, Reeves, you might want to see this.
Reeves: What the hell?
Reeves crouches and rubs the symbols with the back of his hand. Footsteps are now closer and more well-defined.
Sullivan: Um, guys, I think we have some hostiles.
Gary: Yeah, we got some of those fuckin' zombies coming toward us.
Five instances of SCP-XXXX-2 run towards Sullivan and Gary. Sullivan opens fire, hitting four of them and missing the last.
Buck: Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!
Buck fumbles for his pistol and shoots at the last instance of SCP-XXXX-2, neutralizing it.
Sullivan: That was way too close. Pay attention, for god's sake!
Reeves: Sorry, Sullivan, I've just never seen anything like this before. Well, let's continue with the exploration.
Team continues to descend into the cave for at least 50 meters, when they encounter nine instances of SCP-XXXX-2. Buck and Sullivan draw their weapons, but are quickly dog-piled by the SCP-XXXX-2 instances.
Buck: screaming What the fuck are they doing? I can't move!
Sullivan frantically fires his gun 3 times, but the bullets hit the floor.
Sullivan: (screaming and grunting) Is this how I die, rolling around in a puddle of black shit, covered in these sons of bitches?!
Unknown: Calm down you two, we are not going to kill you. We merely don't want you killing us.
Buck: Who the fuck is that?
Reeves, Gary, and Daedalus' cameras all show an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 of Native American descent with olive skin, a wooden spear, and long unkempt hair. Reeves approaches the individual with his gun drawn.
Unknown: In response to your question, we are the [Tribe name redacted].
Buck: The fucking what?
Unknown: Answers will come, but first you must not harm us. Lay down your weapons.
Sullivan: There is no way I am letting go of my gun because some guy told me to!
Gary: Let go of your gun so we can walk out of here alive, Sullivan…
Buck grunts and reluctantly lets go of his gun, and is immediately released by the SCP-XXXX-2. After 2 minutes of struggling, Sullivan drops his gun as well.
Reeves: We are bringing you up to the surface. Who are you?
Unknown: I am E-Nor-Le, the original. The sun hurts our skin; please put me in one of your bodybags.
Buck: How the hell did you know we had those?
E-Nor-Le: All will be answered in time. Get me to whatever place you need to take me and leave my people alone.
E-Nor-Le is put into a bodybag and is transported to the surface by Sullivan and Gary.
Reeves: Daedalus, inform command of what we have for them.
Daedalus: Command, we have a mentally stable individual. He says he is their leader and the Patient Zero. We are requesting a pick up.
Command: On our way right now, Xi-13. Expect a delay of 5 minutes.

Addendum XXXX.3
Interview Log XXXX-1
Interviewed: The Individual known as E-Nor-Le, suspected Patient Zero of SCP-XXXX.
Interviewer: Dr. Jeremiah ████████.
[BEGIN LOG]
Jeremiah: [coughs] Now, how long have you been infected?
E-Nor-Le: Too long; time has become a blur to us. Day is dark in the caves, and night is darker. If I were to guess my age, it would fall within half a millennium.
Jeremiah: [taking notes] And what has kept you in such a stable position?
E-Nor-Le: The Cursed Blessing, of course. It affects all of us now; it keeps us the way it sees us best.
Jeremiah: [taking notes] When you say "The Cursed Blessing", are you referring to the disease we have been studying?
E-Nor-Le: Yes. We call it "The Cursed Blessing" because of what it has done to our civilization.
Jeremiah: How did it spread to your entire tribe?
E-Nor-Le: When outsiders came to our land, their deadliest weapon was not their steel nor their guns, but their ailments. Smallpox ravaged our homes and soon our people. As a last-ditch effort, I offered The Cursed Blessing as a solution. For a while, we thought I had saved us, but it wasn't until we heard the screams that we were proven wrong. For 2 days, we suffered and dreamed of demons, writhed in pain, and could not work. Then it all passed, and on the third day we awoke refreshed and fine. The only thing that changed was our skin, and for another three days, we thought The Cursed Blessing had saved us. On the sixth day, we awoke and could see out of each other's eyes. We were interconnected, our minds and knowledge formed into one, our muscles and bones stronger, and I stood at the center of it all.
Jeremiah: [taking notes] Why did you retreat into the caves?
E-Nor-Le: When we stood outside and the sun hit our skin, we all felt the pain. And soon the outsiders came back to start clearing the land. When one of us was wounded by buckshot, we all felt the pounding pain of the wound, and even after their death, the pain persisted. To keep us all out of harm's way, we decided to retreat into the caves.
Jeremiah: And what about the vomit?
E-Nor-Le: That came the next morning. The Cursed Blessing forced us to vomit it and live in it. It was disgusting but comforting to us, and soon we became used to it. We lived in the filth that were those caves.
Jeremiah: Ok, I think we have all of the information we need. Jeremiah begins to stand up.
E-Nor-Le: No, wait. We have one more request. Our family is spread thin across a large area. Do you want to find all of us? Do you want to keep us in the dark?
Jeremiah: Well, the organization I work for contains the weird parts of reality, or the parts we think shouldn't be a part of reality.
E-Nor-Le: As an exchange, we can give you the location of the rest of our family, for the promise of sanctuary.
Jeremiah: I'm not sure what you mean.
E-Nor-Le: We want to be a whole, our family is in fragments, and we hide in caves unknown to even the best explorers, but we want to be safe. Many of us were in the spot where you found me. We want all of our family to be reunited in that cave.
Jeremiah: We may be able to accommodate to those needs, but there is no guarantee.
E-Nor-Le: A chance is all that is needed to win the lottery.
Jeremiah: Is that all you want to say?
E-Nor-Le: Yes.
[END LOG]
Closing Statement: Dr. Jeremiah ████████ informed the director of Site-██ to what was proposed by E-Nor-Le, and a motion was passed 13 to 3 in favor of accepting E-Nor-Le's proposal.
