Item #: SCP-4724
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4724 is contained within a 1 meter by 1 meter vault located in the heavy containment zone and is to be cleaned once every week. Any personnel who has come into contact with SCP-4724 is to be interrogated by an 05 official. SCP-4724 is not to be used for cleaning its own vault to prevent the spreading of SCP-4724-1.
In the event that SCP-4724-1 is released into the air, the heavy containment zone in is to be closed off and all non-infected personnel must be evacuated immediately. All personnel that have successfully evacuated the heavy containment zone is to be examined and quarantined immediately after exiting the containment zone. Once the outbreak has settled, janitors are required to wear hazmat suits and oxygen tanks. If SCP-4724-1 breaches containment, the heavy containment zone must be decontaminated once all personnel have vacated the area.
Description: SCP-4724 is an older looking dustbuster that when turned on and used, immediately begins spraying a lint-dust like substance into the air. Once this lint-dust like substance settles in the surrounding area, any organic material will be infectited with a thick layer of dust which bears the appearance of dust mixed with lint usually found in a washing machine. This lint-dust becomes the instance known as SCP-4724-1. Once the lint-dust comes into contact with an organic organism, the lint-dust infection spreads rapidly through the body, eating every scrap of meat on the body it can find, leaving nothing but bones. Once SCP-4724-1 finishes its buffet, the infected lifeform into an instance of SCP-4724-2.
SCP-4724-2 is the remaining bones covered in the lint-dust, reanimated into a beast of unspeakable strength that will infect anything it touches. This monster combines human bones with the lint-dust to create a humanoid body although the body parts are exaggeratingly out of proportion.
SCP-4724-1 is made out of trillions of microbes which are known for only eating organic material, whether it's dead or alive. The bacteria is able to reproduce at an alarmingly fast rate which explains the infinite amount of dust contained within SCP-4724. It is unknown why SCP-4724-1 lives within SCP-4724 but one theory suggests it is because the microbes are trapped within SCP-4724 and cannot escape because of the hatch that closes when the button is not pressed locks, sealing off the area where these microbes reside. This theory is the closest thing the foundation has of why SCP-4724-1 lives inside of SCP-4724. These microbes can live for millions of years when given the proper food source. That is why two D-class must be fed to SCP-4724-1 once every day and must be executed before the spread of SCP-4724-1.
