SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to remain in a sealed strong box with a remote locking system. This strong box is to be held in a monitored airtight cell. If the subject must be relocated or re-contained it should not be handled without specialist equipment1. Physically handling the subject is not advised and should only be done in exceptional circumstances. A specialised, remotely operated, robotic arm is available to handle standard relocation procedures.2

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a blue sock patterned with strawberries and adorned with novelty googly eyes.3 The cuff of SCP-XXXX is 10 centimeters in circumference but is capable of expanding up to 45 centimeters in circumference depending on its intended target.

Once attached to a host's arm (Known as SCP-XXXX-1) SCP-XXXX forms a tight seal. Within 1 to 5 minutes from time of attachment SCP-XXXX will be capable of sharing control of its host's arm and vocal cords. Once symbiosis is achieved SCP-XXXX becomes capable of communication via ventriloquism. Interactions with SCP-XXXX while attached to SCP-XXXX-1 have led to it being classified as sapient.

Amputation has proven to be the only effective method of removing SCP-XXXX from SCP-XXXX-1 to date. Caution should be taken when threatening SCP-XXXX-1 as SCP-XXXX will often defend its host violently. SCP-XXXX's grip/bite is capable of expressing over ten thousand(10,000) newtons of force consistently without showing signs of fatigue.

When not attached to a host SCP-XXXX can crawl rapidly, pounce and latch onto prospective hosts with enough force to crush bone. In this hostless state SCP-XXXX is unable to communicate and behaves extremely aggressively while seeking a new host.

Deeper examination of SCP-XXXX's interior revealed traces of a secreted fluid, believed to be SCP-XXXX's saliva. This saliva dissolves hair, fabrics and most synthetic substances such as rubber and plastics but has no effect on wood, stone, metal or flesh. This was discovered over several trials with D-Class test subjects wearing different protective equipment.

SCP-XXXX's ability to control its host appears to come from thousands of loose internal fibers that, when probed, cause a clamping reaction of SCP-XXXX's cuff. These fibers penetrate the skin of its host and attach to the nervous system where they rapidly grow along the arm to the spinal column.

The Foundation made first contact with SCP-XXXX at a psychiatric ward where it's host, SCP-XXXX-1, was found dead via strangulation. The Foundation was notified when the sock puppet forcefully attached itself to the nurse that discovered the body. Agents responding at the scene sealed off the area and deployed amnestics on all witness's.4 The nurse, SCP-XXXX-1, was forced to undergo amputation when Foundation agents were unable to reason with or remove SCP-XXXX.5

Addendum XXXX-1: Background checks into SCP-XXXX's known previous hosts shows a preference for cynical, creative, ambitious, introverted and impulsive individuals.
