SCP-XXXX
The Fear-Radiating Shadow

Object Class: Hera

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained in a 20m*20m*20m room with the walls, floor, and ceiling made of Substance Σ. Substance Σ was created by refining 1 kilogram of pine wood in SCP-914 on Very Fine. Substance Σ seems to have an exceptional capability of withstanding decay from various entities. The floor needs to be replaced on a biweekly basis, the walls are to be replaced every (1) one to three (3) months depending on how damaged they are, and the ceiling is to be replaced on a biannual basis. The old walls, floor, and ceiling are to be disposed of with SCP-101 after replacement. There must always be at least 4 clearance level 4 security personnel guarding all 4 walls of SCP-XXXX’s containment chamber. When the walls, floor, and ceiling need to be changed, or incase of a containment breach, SCP-XXXX is to be incapacitated using a H.I.D. (High Intensity Discharge) turret until the situation is resolved. A Class-D wearing either SCP-714 or SCP-1131-J is to guide it back into its containment and pose as a distraction (See Addendum 1).

Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity that appears to have a height that ranges from 1.84 meters to 2.09 meters. The entity appears to be wearing a black robe with various green stripes across random parts of its robe. It also appears to have green eyes that glow in dim light. It is able to talk to humans in whatever language the victim is most fluent at. The entity doesn’t appear to have any mass because it doesn't displace any air and doesn’t set off pressure sensors (See addendum 2). It also seems to be capable of interfering and disrupting electronics at will within a 5m*5m area around it, height being indefinite/infinite. The entity appears to have an uncanny ability to instill extreme fear into almost (See Addendum 3) every animate entity (See Addendum 1).

Origin: SCP-XXXX used to be a Class-D personnel during a containment breach of SCP-106. It is thought that the Class-D had managed to escape SCP-106’s pocket dimension and was ejected into SCP-914’s containment chamber. The Class-D then proceeded to enhance himself using SCP-914 on the Very Fine setting. What came out of the Output booth was a [REDACTED]. The [REDACTED] then proceeded to enhance itself again using the Very Fine setting. What came out of the Output booth was SCP-XXXX.

Addendum-XXXX-1: After a containment breach of SCP-096, it had come in contact with SCP-XXXX after being enraged. SCP-096 immediately hit the floor and curled itself up into its knees. It also started crying louder than normal. The encounter with SCP-XXXX seemed to completely stop its rage and it no longer raged when its face was viewed through a recording or image for the next 7 days. This was discovered when a Class-D and a level 4 Senior Researcher were in hiding together in one of the surveillance. They both looked at the surveillance live feed and they both saw SCP-096’s face. SCP-096 began enraging until SCP-XXXX emerged from a wall. SCP-096’s rage instantly dissipated and it entered its docile state but it didn’t cover its face. After these events, both the Class-D and the Senior Researcher both looked at SCP-096’s face but it never enraged. In a different breach of SCP-682, SCP-XXXX had also breached containment. When SCP-XXXX entered the room where SCP-682 and all of the NTF unit was, they all felt an immense fear. While SCP-XXXX was slaying the NTF unit and attacking SCP-682, a Class-D donning SCP-714 entered the room and began attempting to guide SCP-682 back to its containment chamber. SCP-682 was extremely cooperative with the Class-D. SCP-XXXX made no attempt to harm the Class-D (See Addendum 3) that was directing SCP-682 back to its chamber. It appeared that SCP-XXXX and the Class-D where conversing the entire time when SCP-682 was being recontained. After SCP-682 was recontained, both SCP-XXXX and the Class-D sat down and began talking about [REDACTED]. Later on, the Class-D nearly fell asleep because of the effects of SCP-714 but SCP-XXXX had kept him awake. This seemingly small, friendly act had saved the Class-D’s life. They kept on conversing about [REDACTED] up until recontainment procedures for SCP-XXXX had started. Once SCP-XXXX had been recontained, the Class-D had been interviewed about what happened. The Class-D was later awarded the Foundation Star for recontaining SCP-682 and for providing a more effective method for recontaining SCP-XXXX.

Addendum-XXXX-2: SCP-XXXX does not seem to set off any pressure sensors. This was discovered after the containment breach of SCP-096. SCP-XXXX had entered the containment cell used to hold SCP-096 which had pressure sensors on the floor to track the location of SCP-096. Surveillance recordings showed SCP-XXXX entering the containment chamber of SCP-096 but logs of the sensors showed no evidence of SCP-XXXX entering the containment chamber. Further testing had confirmed that SCP-XXXX also does not appear to have any mass. Testing using elevated pressure in the containment chamber of SCP-XXXX showed that it also does not displace any air.

Addendum-XXXX-3: There has been a very small number of entities that aren’t affected by SCP-XXXX fear. Any entity wearing SCP-714 or SCP-1131-J is completely unaffected by its fear. SCP-999, SCP-131, and SCP-049 are also unaffected by it. Dr. Hessen is also immune to its effects but SCP-XXXX also shows no fear when exposed to SCP-729-J, which has never been seen before. SCP-XXXX has never attempted to harm anyone of these entities or any entity donning SCP-714 or SCP-1131-J. In fact, it has been observed that it attempts to protect them.
