SCP Project Guidelines: The Fire that Burned the Olympus

SCP Project: The Fire that Burned Down the Olympus.

Mythology we’re basing on: This SCP Project takes inspiration from Greek mythology, to be more precise, it takes inspiration from Hephaestus the Lame and the Furies.
In this version of the myth, Hephaestus can’t create weapons from his own, he uses a magic Anvil but tricks Gods into thinking he is the only one able to craft magical weapons in a desperate attempt to feel relevant and loved. Hephaestus then gets tired of being so poorly treated by other Gods and he decides to convince every god that they are hated by the rest, putting all Gods against each other.
The Gods duke it out in Mount Olympus where the only one still standing is Zeus, although really injured. Hephaestus comes in and kills the injured Zeus, and then he starts running away, because the Furies will eventually come out and take him down. Hephaestus hides his anvil in a cave at the top of Mount Olympus, convinced that he will return one day for it, but needless to say he didn’t.
The Furies in this SCP take down their targets one by one and randomly, they can last between weeks to months in coming out to take down their target, this is made this way for the sake of the Project, since they coming right away would be kinda boring

The SCP itself: Since there are a lot of moving parts, I’ll use codenames to help us keep track of stuff easier. This SCP consists of the following parts:
SCP-XXXX-1 (Codename “The Anvil): An Anvil with magic properties. If you strike at least 26mg of melting iron on top of it with SCP-XXXX-2, it will create any weapon the user desires. The user needs to think clearly everything about the weapon (size, material, properties) because if it doesn’t, the weapon crafted will have said property randomized (for example, not specifying the size of a blade could make it 3cm short or 80m long)
SCP-XXXX-2 (Codename “The Hammer”): This is just a hammer needed to strike down the iron, since using regular hammers won’t work with it. I am not sure if hammer is the correct term for this tool, please let me know
SCP-XXXX-3 (Codename “Furies”): Basically the Furies, they are currently unkillable and want to strike down everyone that has used The Anvil, since they consider it either “Using a godly tool without permission” or “following the steps of the traitor whose fire burned down the olympus” (I personally like the second one, but you decide). A special MTF is prepared to deal with them each time they appear to either contain them or terminate them. Furies normally appear making a hole through the ground and attacking their next victim, but this could change to avoid termination.
SCP-XXXX-4 (Codename “Citizens”): Everyone that has used The Anvil have their fate sealed, since a LOT of Foundation Personnel has been exposed to The Anvil, termination was not an option. The Foundation decided to build a small village surrounded by an electric fence, and monitored 24/7.
SCP-XXXX-4-1 (Codename “The Victim”): It’s basically the next Citizen that is going to be attacked by the Furies. Furies attack one victim at a time and the order of attack is determined by when the Citizens used the Anvil for the first time.

Ideas (we don’t need to do EVERY single one of them, but a lot of them would be cool):
- Similar to SCP-3020 “Depression” or 001’s proposal “When Day Breaks”, the SCP document “changes” through time using updates. Go and give them a read to get an idea. Basically, the file would change from a harmless magic Anvil classified as Thaumiel that helps the Foundation make weapons, to a Keter hazard that will strike down a lot of Foundation personnel eventually
- A SCP-XXXX-3 (Furies) termination/containment log (Let’s instead of making them unkillable, just make them really resistant and smart enough to avoid things that could kill them, because fuck 682)
- Someone that used the Anvil but managed to delete themselves from the list of people that used it, and thus avoided containment. The last document update would be similar to 3020’s last entry, edited by said person and talking about them going crazy, this time because they knowing the Furies are coming for them, since they are the current “bait” (We need to find a way to make a reason that sounds convincible for them to not kill themselves, or maybe we could just make the last update like a suicide note?)
- Before this last update occurs, a termination/containment log in which the MTF successfully attaches a camera to the Furies, and we get a sneak peak to the Tartarus
- A tale describing Hephaestus’ story and how he managed to kill the gods
- A testing log for the Anvil, crafting goofy weapons and stuff before becoming a way darker SCP (We’re 100% doing this)
- A recovery log in the form of an interview between Foundation personnel and the Greek government, negotiating for the Anvil (if we do this, we have to make clear the Greek government were the ones that found the Anvil). Because really, why would a country give up a magical Anvil that creates weapons?
- Interviews with Citizens to make emphasis about two things: the feeling that your fate is both horrible and sealed; and the idea of eternal torture, something worse than death.
- A Citizens’ suicide/escape attempts log, about how they tried to do it and if they were successful or not
- A video log about the Furies first recorded attack (the first attacks occurred outside the Foundation, and that’s why they were not noticed for a time long enough for the Foundation to continue the use of the Anvil for a while)
(If you have another idea, please give tell it through the Groupchat and we will see)
