Item #: SCP-4086

Object class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-4086 is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment chamber, fully furnished, with access to a computer, with controlled access to the internet. Three meals must be supplied daily and can request other snacks at any time. SCP-4086 is free to leave its quarters at any time, except for site lockdowns, despite its combat abilities. And is a valuable asset to containment teams, which it is assigned to.

Description:

SCP-4086 has no initial physical differences to a standard male human, with black hair and green eyes, other than a slight red tinge to its iris’. SCP-4086 is a 19-year-old Caucasian male, who prefers to be called ████ ████████ or ‘wraith’, seemingly of British decent. SCP-4086 is relatively ill-mannered, showing little respect for authority, especially towards the armed guards, possibly due to initial maltreatment by armed staff when SCP-4086 was first contained.
Upon initial inspection, SCP-4086 appears to be a regular human, aside from the unnatural tinge to his eyes. However, upon activating his anomalous abilities, SCP-4086 proceeds to rupture the skin on his back and shoulders, and produce multiple thin, barbed spines, and 4 scaled tendrils, all with an edged tip. The tendrils and spines are black in colour and have a set of glowing red veins buried under the scales. The blades can cut though steel with some effort, and the spines have an acidic secretion, which can be injected into would be attackers. To keep the spines and tendrils active result in considerable fatigue, being active for twenty-minute gaps before SCP-4086 must rest. SCP-4086 also always exhibits advanced regenerative abilities, enhanced strength, speed and resistance whilst its abilities are active, but become surprisingly below average after deactivation, similar to those who have been malnourished. SCP-4086 was originally found in after escaping a mental institution in North ██████, and only had his abilities brought to light after being found in an alley, where a gang attempted to mug him. resulting in mind acid burns to all members, with one member losing an eye. All witnesses were given amnestics, and all records of his entry were deleted or confiscated.
SCP-4086 was convinced to come to site-██ but was treated poorly by security staff, who perceived its incident as purely hostile and not self-defence.

< Interview 4086/01/20██ >

Dr ████ ██████ began a general interview with SCP-4086 about his origin, or whether he knew of his ability’s origins. SCP-4086 was compliant.

[Doctor] Good afternoon SCP-4086, how are yo-
[SCP-4086] Could you address me as something different please? The number makes me feel so…artificial.

[Doctor] Of course, what would you have me call you?

[SCP-4086] is ████ okay?

[Doctor] I see no issue with that. So, ████, how are you today?

[SCP-4086] Aside from the asshole guards, I feel fine. For something of a prison, it's homey.

[Doctor] That’s good, but we do have a more…scientific purpose to this interview, if you’ll forgive my bluntness.

[SCP-4086] So long as we don’t end up with me on a dissection table, I don’t mind.

[Doctor] Good, then let us begin. From looking at you, nothing seems out of the ordinary, can you please show us why you were contained?

SCP-4086 seems reluctant, and is questioned as to why

[SCP-4089] It’s not painful, but it tends to give off a burning feeling, and it takes a while to heal too.

SCP-4086 activates his abilities, and much to the shock of Dr ████████, a tendril accidentally slices the chair in two

[SCP-4086] AH, Bugger! I'm sorry, they’re hard to control when they first form

[Doctor] It's fine. But what do you mean by ‘Form’?

[SCP-4086] These aren't inside me all the time. At least I don’t think so. I had x-rays done at the institution. They always came back as normal. I'm guessing it's in my blood or something.

Dr ████████ notes this down, and swiftly moves on

[Doctor] Do you know of the origin of your abilities?

[SCP-4086] As far as I can tell, I've always had them. Granted I never knew I could summon the spines and all, but I was always a strong kid, and always healed weirdly fast. When I was in a car crash one time, a chunk of glass from the window was buried into my arm. Damn nearly took it off, save for my ulna which caught it. The doctors pulled it out, but couldn’t operate, since I was healing before they could sew me up. Within a week I had no scar and had no nerve damage. That’s when I was emitted to the institution.

[Doctor] I see. Thankyou ████, this was very insightful. You can return to your quarters or go to break if you wish.

Incident 12/214/████
During a full-scale containment breach, SCP-4086 was seen helping local MTF units with combat with Euclid and higher-level threats and was later seen protecting SCP-999 and SCP-507, who were with one another at the time, from a small horde of 049-1, with brilliant efficiency. SCP-4086 was considered being employed as a support member of MTF’s but was later denied.

Note-4086-A: SCP-4089 has become close friends with SCP-507, and regularly talk when able to. It should be noted that the two are not to be stopped from interacting, as both SCP-4089 and SCP-507’s mental health has increased since the two became friendly.

Note-4086-B: NO staff, MALE OR FEMALE are to flirt with SCP-4089, as forming a relationship with an SCP is strictly prohibited.

Note-4086-C: Dr ████ ██████ has chosen to IGNORE Note-4089-B and would have been reprimanded if not for SCP-4089’s opposition. She is still SCP-4089’s main researcher but let her near miss be an example to other staff members. Disciplinary actions WILL be taken from now on.

Note-4086-D: After careful reconsideration, SCP-4086 had been given access to help with containment teams in site ██. He has been issued a special uniform to differentiate him from D-Class. NO MTF/NTF GROUPS ARE CLEARED TO ENGAGE SCP-4086

Incident 17/126/████:
During a procedural medical check, a high-pressure instrument malfunctioned, and produced a sound like that of a mechanical drill. The sound triggered what is believed to be a PTSD episode in SCP-4086, with him scurrying into a corner and repeating the phrase “No matron, not the drill” for close to an hour, until Dr ████ ██████ calmed him. It is theorised that SCP-4086 is referring to the matron at his old mental institution. An investigation into the institution is being considered.

Interview 4086/05/ 20██

<Begin Log>

//Following Note-4086-E, Dr ████ ██████ requested an interview with SCP-4086 as to why his PTSD episode occurred. //

[Doctor] Hey ████, what’s going on?
[SCP-4086] I…don’t really want to answer. Its not a nice memory.
[Doctor] I understand that, but its important you tell us. If its significant enough, we might investigate.
[SCP-4086] SCP-4086 sighs Okay, I’ll spill. Matron in the asylum wasn’t looking to help. In fact, she was looking to hurt us even more-
[Doctor] What do you mean by ‘us’?
[SCP-4086] There are others there. Like me but different. Anomalous people which got emitted. I think she tried to set up her own sort of foundation, like yours. Albeit its less of a complex and more of a shed. And not for containment, for execution.
[Doctor] Do you know how many entities there are?
[SCP-4086] I’m not sure. She would string us up and…SCP-4086 is visibly shaken by the memory. He shakes his head and continues Like I said, I’m not sure. I could only see three people at one time, but from the screams…there had to be close to forty people down there.
[Doctor] Why didn’t you just break out?
[SCP-4086] She starved us ████, for weeks we didn’t eat anything. These abilities I have…I can’t just turn them on when I’m dying, and especially when I can’t move. And between the torture and the beatings…I was just hoping she would kill me soon.
[Doctor] Were any of the entities hostile?
[SCP-4086] No. at least not the ones I knew. They had names. All of them, but she just referred to us as beast numbers. It was awful.
[Doctor] If you were as weak as you said you were, how did you get out?
[SCP-4086] There was one nurse there…he liked me. At least I think he did. He would bring us down water tell us he would let us all get out when he could. He brought me a piece of steak one time. That was enough to give me the strength to get out.
[Doctor] What happened to this nurse?
[SCP-4086] as I broke out…I lost control of my tendrils for a moment. They whipped round and…I cleaved him…
SCP-4086 hangs his head down low and covers his face. Dr ████ ██████ holds him in her arms for a moment, before he sits back up
[Doctor] Did you break anyone else out?
[SCP-4086] no. I was too distraught from the whole ordeal that I didn’t think to. He didn’t even die straight away. I held him in my arms and he…He…
SCP-4086 covers his face and cries, Dr ████ ██████ almost throws herself at him to calm him down. The embrace lasts 10 minutes before the interview continues
[SCP-4086] I don’t break anyone else out, no. I doubt I even could’ve, I looked like those pictures of concentration camps being liberated. I’m amazed I could even move. But I ran. I ran and I ran and I ran until I couldn’t run any more. I collapsed near that alley and crawled into it. Those muggers tried to take whatever I had. When they realised I had nothing they tried to stab me, but I guess I got them. That’s when you found me, right?
[Doctor] that’s right. We’re going to launch an investigation into this institution, don’t worry. We’ll get them out. Any ideas what their abilities were?
[SCP-4086] the three I knew were two girls and a guy. I know the guy was like me, with hidden appendages. But his was more of a chitinous armour than a weapon. He still had five or six plates attached to his arms when he was strung up. They came off in time though.
Dr ████ ██████ notes this down and continues
[SCP-4086] The two girls were twins. One could heat up super-hot. She was kept in a tank of water for her ‘containment’. I’m surprised she didn’t get hypothermia. Her sister was like her too. But she could emit lightning from her body. She was wrapped in a massive amount of rubber. You could tell she was a claustrophobe too. She never stopped freaking out unless her sister was awake. I felt awful leaving them…
SCP-4086 looks like he’s in thought until he looks up at Dr ████ ██████
[SCP-4086] Take me with you.
[Doctor] I’m sorry?
[SCP-4086] you said you were going to launch an investigation, right? I know how to get in and where they are. Take me with you.
[Doctor] I don’t know if they’ll even let you leave ████, let alone help with a breakout.
[SCP-4086] ████ I’m technically an MTF member now, why not let me prove myself even more. Who knows? Maybe we can make an elite SCP MTF team. They weren’t insane. Just like me.
Note: SCP-4086’s help in the investigation was later approved by 05-██.
