Object class:Euclid
Photo of SCP-XXXX recovered from a damaged camera found on victim.
Item #:SCP-XXXX
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept at site ███ within a 8 by 6 meter cell with 2 infrared cameras on opposite corners of each other. The chamber itself should have at least 8 inches of snow on the ground as well as several bushes and small trees taken from their discovery location, for the entities to hide amongst. The chambers temperature is to be set to -5 to -15 °. At no point is standard video or camera equipment to be allowed within the cell, or the creatures be observed with it. Any and all viewing is to be done through infrared camera, unless under direct orders, or testing, which is to be overseen by no less than 5 armed guards.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a quadruped entity roughly 1.5 meters in height and 1.7 meters in length. The entity’s overall body plan seems to be similar towards a modern Canis Lupus (Grey Wolf), although several differences are notable:
- much longer, pointed ears
- A shorter, more blunt snout
- Very short, skinny tail
- Broader shoulders
Despite mostly walking on all fours, the entities have been seen walking and even running in a semi bipedal stance, even being agile enough to climb the trees in their enclosure.
The exact features of SCP-XXXX are as of yet, unknown, as any viewings from camera feed, only produce blurry and dark shadows of the creatures, and they are invisible to the human eye, although those viewing them with the eye can still sense a presence. Currently, 7 instances of SCP-XXXX are in containment, which seem to be all of the specimens, as no more attacks have been reported outside the facility.
SCP-XXXX does not need to eat or drink, and seemingly does not require sleep. Instead, the entities sit completely still at certain points, and have been seen to stay in this state from as little as an hour, to several days.
SCP-XXXX is as of now believed to be both blind and deaf, and do not respond to audio or visual stimuli, and seem to have developed their own unknown communication and sensory methods. SCP-XXXX is acutely aware of the cameras in their cell, and of cameras and visual devices in general and have stared at them any time they are viewed through standard unedited video.
SCP-XXXX become aggressive when viewed through standard video recordings, and stare directly at the observer, usually standing still or moving in a predatory, stalking manner. (This aggression also extends towards nearby subjects, even if not viewing SCP-XXXX.) If viewing is ceased soon after it begins, SCP-XXXX will return to a docile state. If viewing continues for over a minute, the entities will soon begin to manifest around the immediate area of the observer and begin stalking and closing in on the subject. The subject shows signs of increased paranoia, shaking and heart palpitations, even if not aware of SCP-XXXX presence. If visual contact is retained, the entities will begin to attack and [DATA EXPUNGED] the subject.
Attacks are 100% fatal to the victim, unless intervened in. The attacks from SCP-XXXX are extremely aggressive, leaving claw and teeth marks up to ███ deep on the body. In most attacks, the entities seem to go for the neck, stomach or other soft areas on the body.
Class D that have been rescued from attacks from SCP-XXXX have all given the same report, that the entities have fur comparable in feel to the needles of pine trees, and their reports, as well as marks on recovered bodies, reveal SCP-XXXX to possess teeth similar in description to a frilled shark, as well as a tongue covered in possibly calcified teeth.
Several hours after exposure to SCP-XXXX, subjects appear to display constant paranoia, and often have difficulty speaking and sleeping, and complain about being watched, and speak about another presence with them, even when completely alone. Subjects recover within several days. However a small amount have died from causes related to brain spasms and heart failure.
SCP-XXXX does not appear to be inherently hostile, and have been seen completely ignoring subjects exposed to them with blinding equipment on, even curiously inspecting them.
While any attempts to harm or touch SCP-XXXX have failed so far, the creatures still seem to show fear or at least unease toward weapons pointed toward them, and have ceased attacks, receded or shown reluctance to attack when shown weapons.
Notes: it is not known how SCP-XXXX is able to manifest nearby the observer, and are able to completely exit their containment chamber if viewed outside of it. All attempts to stop this have failed. Because Of this, SCP-XXXX is never to be viewed unless necessary to a test.
Addendum -01: Discovery
SCP-XXXX was first discovered by the foundation in the outskirts of a wooded cottage near the town of Houghton Michigan in ███ after a string of gruesome deaths that have been attributed to SCP-XXXX.
The area of woods were quarantined for several months, before foundation staff were able to trap SCP-XXXX using a camera set up.
Addendum -02:Observation log
Despite usually curiously inspecting subjects exposed to them without visual equipment, several times now SCP-XXXX have become aggressive toward the presence of a subject, especially when under constant watch by them. Attacks have been recorded several times under this circumstance.
SCP-XXXX also seems to become aggressive upon touching or bumping into subjects, with at least one accidental bump leading to an immediate and violent attack, which left the subject [DATA EXPUNGED]
Addendum -03: Observation log
SCP-XXXX has been seen on multiple occasions “playing” in its environment chamber, seemingly chasing each other and attacking each other, but not inducing injuries. The specimens communicate quite often, bowing their heads toward others and raising their shoulders toward one another.
