SCP-5079 upon retrieval (Stage 1)
Item #: SCP-5079
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5079 must be kept in a well lit and confined holding cell with extreme permission and adherence to all further containment procedures. It is crucial that the entrance to SCP-5079's holding cell begins with a 6 m x 2 m hallway that leads to a 5 m x 5 m x 5 m room. This room is to be shifted at a 45° angle in contrast to conventional containment cells, creating a diamond shaped room as observed from the entrance of the cell, that being the bottom corner of the room. SCP-5079 must be observed with a minimum of 8 cameras from within its cell at all times. These cameras must not only have a delay of at least 1 second when being observed by security personnel, but must not have a greater resolution than 720x480p while observing SCP-5079's daily activities. Along with cameras, it is crucial that many mirrors are to be mounted to cover any potential blind-spots within the holding cell, this is to counteract any place that could harbor SCP-5079 between the 1 second delay of the live feed and the additional time it takes to relay that information. Both the cameras and mirrors are a line of defense used so that personnel may still observe SCP-5079's behavior and location at all times and stay relatively safe within the environment.
To ensure further containment of SCP-5079, it is made mandatory that at least two personnel with Level 2 clearance or above monitor SCP-5079 via the security cameras at all times. It is requested that shift changes occur every hour to ensure mental composure and rationality between rotating personnel. Along with reoccurring and frequent personnel changes, it is requested that at least 3 D-Class personnel be brought into SCP-5079's cell each week so that a containment breach does not occur. If any security personnel exhibit strange behavior or begin to speak in a overly sympathetic nature towards SCP-5079, it is asked they be removed from any work with or near SCP-5079 indefinitely.
Description: SCP-5079 is a human-sized, female doll with a 162.3 cm height and 24.4 kg mass. The subject has a full head of long, bright, white hair and dresses in a semi-formal black dress originating from the late 1800's. Upon taking samples of SCP-5079 its revealed that the initially thought to be porcelain exterior of the doll, was in fact made of a smoothed and polished bone like material. However upon researchers discovering this, they realized they could find no correlation to any known living creature. It is additionally noted that although SCP-5079 remains largely inanimate, there is a notable exception to SCP-5079's eyes, which have been observed to move infrequently yet obviously towards whatever draws its attention.
As stated above, SCP-5079 is considered to be inanimate in most circumstances. However, this only applies to the subject for as long as it is satisfied with the amount of attention that is drawn towards it. Even then, these circumstances that allowed The Foundation for what would be considered a "Safe" classification, has backfired completely (see Addendum 5079-A).
SCP-5079 seems to feed off of the attention it receives. The subject, (which has been nicknamed by staff, Vanity), has exhibited a desperate need for every person to look at it, and will go to unconventional, yet extreme lengths to do so. Upon any person entering the same room as SCP-5079, they will immediately feel a shift in their cognitive process. From the very moment they enter the room they will feel an insatiable need to look at SCP-5079, being drawn to it, even knowing exactly where it is even if unaware of where it was before entering. If the test subject looks at SCP-5079, their mind quickly begins to lose all previous, thoughts, needs, and desires within the first 10 seconds. MRI's and subsequent brain scans highlight the process that begins to unfold afterwards.
