Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

if SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard humanoid cell. No food of italian nature is to be brought in a 15-metres radius around the cell.

As per Interview I-AXXXX-B, SCP-7412’s cell has also been outfitted with a kitchen and cooking ingredients, as well as an automatic transporter for cooked meals. Any food items carried this way must first undergo chemical inspection using the instruments allocated next to the dropoff point (instructions on how to perform said inspection are provided next to the machine). All other items are to be destroyed immediately.

If the analysis detailed above does not produce any unexpected results, the food items in question are to be deemed edible and safe to eat, and may be consumed by the on-duty personnel or otherwise dealt with as preferred. Wasting food is, however, highly discouraged.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a caucasian man of Italian descent, born on █/██/19██, 164 centimetres tall and weighing 79 kilograms.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effect manifests whenever food cooked according to traditional Italian recipes is brought in a radius of 15 metres centered on SCP-XXXX. Should said food items not have been cooked originally by SCP-XXXX, they will undergo rapid degradation culminating in decay and bio-degradation.
This degradation will affect said items immediately upon entering said radius, at first only affecting their taste. After approximately 22.3 seconds spent within said radius, the food will become completely tasteless and begin to decay at a rapid rate, in a manner consistent with standard biological decay models. While the total time taken for the decay to occur completely, such that the entirety of the food biomass has been decomposed, varies in accordance with the complexity and size of the food item in question, in no case will it take longer than 415 seconds.

It must be noted that neither proximity to SCP-XXXX nor time of exposure to it have been found to have had any effect on the degradation of these items. Furthermore, SCP-XXXX does not need to be aware of the presence of the items, or manifest any intent to cause this effect in order for it to occur.

Addendum:

Dr. Timelli’s Note: Due to willingness to collaborate with Foundation staff, and the general well-behaved attitude of SCP-7412, a motion of re-classification of the Object to Safe has been submitted, and is currently undergoing review.
