Darkstormshade

Item #: SCP-TBD

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-TBD must be kept within a stable container at all times. This container must be located in the center of a 13.5 square meter larger containment area, with a height of at least 30 m. The larger containment area must also be filled with water with a minimum depth of 10 m. and a maximum depth of 12 m. At no point are any personnel allowed to enter this area with large or heavy objects that could be used to smash the bottle without 05 clearance.

Description: SCP-TBD is a clear glass bottle, measuring approximately 9.5 square cm. by 21.6 cm. The bottle appears to contain a model of a small wooden ship, in the style of a british galleon. The model is intricately detailed, painted blue, gold, and red. It can be seen flying the british Great Union flag, dating the ship to the 17th century. When any items touch the mouth of the bottle, it will immediately begin to shrink with no apparent effects on the items functionality. No harm is caused to organic beings that enter or exit the bottle except for slight motion sickness. The ship can be seen to have an animate crew proportional to the rest of the ship, deemed SCP-TBD-1. This crew has no discernible features, but after multiple tests has been confirmed sentient.
Personnel sent to interview SCP-TBD-1 have reported that the crew is trained and shows no signs of aggressiveness or want to leave the ship. The ship itself provides the crew with food, water, and other necessities for life, though the source of this is unknown. The crew claims to be part of the British navy, and refers to themselves as [REDACTED], despite no other instances of SCP-TBD being found.

Addendum TBD.1:Testing Results in reference to the shrinking properties of the bottle

Objects larger than the ship inserted into the bottle will change the scaling of the current contents of the bottle, with no apparent limit to what size object could fit.

Objects with multiple connected parts are shrunk all at once and treated as if they were a whole object by the bottle mouth.

Attempting to transfer chemical reactions and explosions have had mixed results, with no discernible pattern to what energy is/isn’t transferred.

Any tests involving breaking the bottle are not allowed as the shrinking properties of the bottle will have unknown effects once the bottle is altered.
