A sign from the nearby restaurant "KFC" after being materialized into SCP-4716.
Item #: SCP-4716
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to its close proximity to a well-established town, complete secrecy regarding SCP-4716's anomalous nature is impossible. However, vision into the anomaly is mostly prevented by a four (4) meter sheet iron fence that is to be kept erected at all times. Regular patrols around said fence are to be put in place to verify its structural integrity.
Flying objects — such as drones — that are twenty-five (25) meters or higher above ground-level of SCP-4716 are to be ignored, as they pose no threat due large amounts of water vapor present in SCP-4716 which prevent any and all vision of said anomaly. However, unmanned flying objects that go below this altitude are to be disabled remotely via a directional electromagnetic pulse. Manned flying objects that go below twenty-five (25) meters are to be warned to leave the area, and if they go below ten (10) meters, termination of the pilot and any passengers is required as to prevent a Sheol-class containment breach.
Entrance into SCP-4716 is to be given only to those stationed for long-term anomaly research or containment. Once inside, said personnel are not to leave SCP-4716 under any circumstances.
Supplies are to be given to stationed personnel through a small window to the right of the main gate. If the needed supplies are too large, they can be carefully handed through the main gate, as long as neither individuals' torso pass over SCP-4716's barrier. However, the recommended mode of delivery for larger objects is an air drop from an SC1-Marlinson helicopter, which is supplied at the nearby Site-135.
Instances of SCP-4716-1 are to be ignored when possible. If an individual must speak with an instance, said individual is not to disclose any information that could prove useful to the instance in the case of a Sheol-class containment breach, unless given permission by Sr. Researchers R████, J█████████, and M██████. As of 03/17/1997, no personal information is to be given to instances of SCP-4716, and personnel are not to befriend them.
Description: SCP-4716 is a relatively flat field, approximately 0.8 km x 1.2 km, located in ███████████, Nebraska, USA. It demonstrates multiple anomalous effects, including the permanent presence of large amounts of water vapor that prevent vision from approx. fifteen (15) meters and beyond. Arguably more important, however, is its ability to instantly transport random items from the surrounding town into itself. This only happens to items currently not under direct surveillance, but through the use of cameras, the disappearance can be viewed remotely. (See Document 4716-A). While currently being viewed via a camera, objects will not be transported into SCP-4716. However, if the footage is recorded and viewed later, the item can still be seen teleported into the anomaly. (See Document 4716-B). If an object is within the line of sight of a camera or other visual recording device, it will be immune to SCP-4716's teleportation. Due to this, Foundation personnel are currently in the process of installing cameras in most public areas to ensure nothing of note goes missing. Since this started, however, reports of missing items have been seen coming from a larger radius. Thus, the addition of cameras has been slowed and may soon halt altogether.
When an individual dies within ~22 km of SCP-4716, a non-living object inside of the anomaly will become animate and take on the personality, memories, and the voice of the deceased individual. These objects are designated as instances of SCP-4716-1. Instances of SCP-4716-1 possess the ability to hear nearby noises and communicate verbally, though only those with something resembling an oral orifice or with something similar to a speaker can be heard easily2. Instances will often remark on the darkness that supposedly surrounds them, their lack of physical feeling, and their unhappiness to be deceased. When an ins
When an individual currently inside of SCP-4716 passes over the perimeter of the anomaly, their body is taken over by an entity that calls itself "Shuwalu". This anomaly has been given the designation SCP-4716-2. When SCP-4716-2 makes an emergence, all existing instances of SCP-4716-1 will claim to see light its direction. Instances will gain the ability to move through a way specific to them3 and will, without fail, make their way towards SCP-4716-2 at all costs. When they are within 30 meters of SCP-4716-2, instances claim to regain their visual and tactile senses.
