Item #: SCP-4396
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Prevention Procedures: Because of the nature of SCP-4396-3 events, it is currently impossible to prevent, avoid, or contain SCP-4396-3 events, however steps of preparation can be carried out to prevent a XK Class “End of the World” scenario in case of another SCP-4396-3 event.
Procedure 1:
Gradual information leak into the public in order to gain better cooperation and prevent mass panic. Civilians shall be requested to support and volunteer for construction of defensive barriers around beaches, as well as propulsion devices.
Procedure 2:
Post-event repair will begin and reconstruction of affected areas; Mass population centers, monuments, and government buildings. Agriculture appears to remain largely unchanged.
Procedure 3:
Use of Class A Amnestics on a mass populous scale as well as algorithmic cover-up of information either removing it completely or masking it as a simpler, natural disaster.
Description:
SCP-4396 is the designation for a group of objects and events referred to as SCP-4396-1, SCP-4396-2, and SCP-4396-3. SCP-4396 was first discovered by the foundation on ███, 1988. SCP-4396-1 is an unidentified, sapient, humanoid entity inside of, or acting as the Earth’s core; however, its noticeable, anomalous behavior is a signal originating from SCP-4396-1 at a yearly basis. The signal appears harmless and can be acquired by whatever the most common form of communication is on that specific year. The signal also appears to be whatever the most spoken language is that year. Since gaining this understanding, we’ve identified messages in English, Chinese, French, and Spanish. Further research may show previously unknown attempts of contact in Latin, Greek, and Ancient Egyptian. SCP-4396-2 is the designation for an event that resembles a scale 2 earthquake. This event occurs randomly, but is traceable back to SCP-4396-1 and appears to occur in areas with high crime rate. Preceding SCP-4396-2’s earthquake-like event a loud sound similar to thunder is heard. This sound is estimated to be produced at ███ decibels at its point of origin. This event is relatively harmless. SCP-4396-3 is the designation for an event that occurs once every thousand years. This event began occurring between 1 B.C.E and 1 C.E and is believed to have been the cause to our concept of Common Era. Foundation research has concluded these events are responsible for many historic events including, but not limited to; The sinking of an ancient city assumed to be the fabled Atlantis, the submersion of half the Oceania continent, and the disappearance or destruction of several historic South American civilizations. This event begins in December and involves the Earth beginning to gradually decrease rotation speed by nearly 1000 Km/h. On the final day of the month the Earth stops completely and begins rotating in the opposite direction. The inertia carried by objects on the surface against the new direction and speed of the Earth continues carrying the objects which can result in; ████, ████, and mass tsunamis. Observations by Foundation camera’s directly link SCP-4396-1 to SCP-4396-3 events. The most recent event has been responsible for ████, the destruction of the Twin Towers, and ████. The most recent event occurred in the year 2000 and was masked as the Y2K event. Using evidence from Exhibition-1 and Transmission-1 this event can be safely assumed as this entity’s referred to “Balance”
Addendum 4396-1:
On ███ 1992 a D-Class recreational area’s television malfunctions for approximately 16 minutes before playing video of an unidentified, bearded, Caucasian male roughly 50-60 years of age. The humanoid began speaking in English and on site personnel report hearing the entity say “███ don't forget ████ forgiven.” It was decided no amnestics would be required and normal schedule was to proceed. Technicians and researchers were tasked to retrace the signal, which was discovered to originate from the center of the Earth. Further attempts at contact were attempted and unsuccessful. Similar signals have been detected yearly, but appear at a virtually random location on Earth. The most recent Foundation interception of this signal was on 2016 via instant messaging service to the phone of Doctor Chancebraun. The messages were received in Chinese and were saved immediately and an exhibition has been scheduled.
Transmission-1: The following has been translated from Chinese
<Begin Log>
SCP-4396-1: Greetings I am ███ of ███.
Doctor Chancebraun: Hello, I am Doctor Chancebraun and are you ███ of ███ as in the historical figure?
SCP-4396-1: Correct.
Doctor Chancebraun: Why may you be messaging me?
SCP-4396-1: As the call of god I must observe the state of humanity.
SCP-4396-1: My attempts to communicate are often gone unnoticed or replied with hostility, I commend you for your purity of heart.
Doctor Chancebraun: Where are you located?
SCP-4396-1: God placed me in the safety of the great creation.
Doctor Chancebraun: Pardon me can you be more specific?
SCP-4396-1: The center of our great world.
SCP-4396-1: I am the Judge and I maintain the balance.
Doctor Chancebraun: Judge of what?
SCP-4396-1: Simple, purity. Fare well.

Exhibition 4396-1: The following are transcriptions of researcher audio logs.
Courtesy of Research Team A
<Begin Log>
Day 1 Log: Hello, this is Doctor Henry Shaw. Today marks our first day of decent and tunneling. Several other teams were tasked with simply finding an achievable path and destination for our exploration. I’d like to commend ████ and ████ teams for their assistance. Signing off.
Day 3 Log: Nothing substantial has occurred yet, however my higher ups request I do at least 1 log every other day. Tunneling Teams A and B are reflecting standard life and performance levels. Mobile Research Station A is showing positive performance by all engineers, researchers, and doctors, including myself. Signing off.
Day 4 Log: We have successfully traveled 400 Km into the planet without any instability. Compared to other Foundation explorations this is going swimmingly! Signing off.
Day 6 Log: We are approaching our first week tunneling. Engineers are worried about our current fuel consumption, so we are going to find an area to stop and the tunneling vehicles and their respective teams are going to scan for raw resources. Signing off. Update: An earthquake occurred and collapsed part of our tunnel, however it seems like only a minor hindrance. Signing off.
Day 7 Log: Interesting, we investigated the direction of the earthquake and it seems to originate from SCP-4396-1. Either that occurred by pure coincidence or it realized we’re coming. Signing off.
Day 9 Log: We are beginning to breach the bottom of the Earth’s mantle. At this rate we should arrive in no more than 4 days. Signing off.
Day 10 Log: Compression and atmosphere is far past survivable conditions for human life and all personnel has been informed to remain inside their vehicles. Signing off.
Day 11 Log: We’ve arrived at the core. Surprisingly it seems just as modern science expected it to be. Simply a mass of condensed matter surrounded in magma. Signing off. Update: Since we've arrived magma surrounding the core has seemingly evaporated. If this is anything to go by, heat outside our vehicles is far beyond melting point of human flesh. Signing off.
Day 12 Log: My god! Another quake occurred and it appears we’ve been encased next to the core. The quake flipped Tunneling Team A’s vehicle over, but life signs read positive. Several of my peers are panicking and engineers report insufficient amounts of fuel to make a full trip back. I have sent out an emergency signal. We are to continue research until we are retrieved. Signing off.
Day 13 Log: At ███ in the morning D-Class on Tunneling Teams A and B reported having visions of a black silhouetted man. Other than that today has been fine. Signing off. Update: An incident has occurred. The previous D-Class following the end of my log began weeping and apologizing without an apparent reason. Following their apologizes they began breaching protocol and left their vehicles. My god… I remember they flattened extraordinarily quickly. The sound of their blood evaporating and bones cracking and then crinkling like paper was haunting, however much less than the visuals. The remains then gravitated towards the core and seemingly melding into the sphere. We count a loss of 73% of Tunneling Team A and 66% of Tunneling Team B. Signing off.
Day 15 Log: I and several researchers voted and agreed upon several nearby atmosphere tests. We believe the local area should be several hundreds of degrees above survivable temperatures, however because the D-Class did not seem to display any melting in skin tissue before melding into SCP-4396-1 we are going to do heat and compression tests. Signing off.
Day 16 Log: Astonishing! We’ve sent several objects outside our research transport and none yet have been crushed by pressure, as well it appears there is sufficient amounts of oxygen in the atmosphere as well. Signing off.
Day 17 Log: I’m personally taking the risk of leaving the vehicle, I am tasked with first confirming livability and second making contact with SCP-4396-1. Signing off. Update: The atmosphere is survivable! That speaks a lot for itself. However our recent contact has added several questions. I began by asking “ What are you?” with a reply of “████.” Which may prove ████. Following I asked “ What happened to the others, who got compressed?” With a reply of “ They Sinned. They were forgiven.” I then departed and returned to the Mobile Research Station. Signing off.
Day 18 Log: I’ve looked into some of my peers records and have became quite curious. I’ve organized a small group that have criminal records and plan to send them outside for out next test. Signing off. Update: As I presumed all the men crinkled like paper and flew into the sphere like the D-Class before them. Signing off.
Day 19 Log: This is Doctor Clevelich and I will be taking over after Doctor Shaw’s recent incident, which I will document now. As of ████ last night Doctor Shaw attempted to contact SCP-4396-1 a second time, however similar to the demise of several others on our team he was crushed and assimilated, as he deserved. On other news Site ███ has sent a recovery team to our location that should arrive tomorrow following the majority of our pre-made tunnel. Signing off.

Addendum 4396-2:
In 2017 a SCP-4396-2 event occurred at Site ██ following a mass loss of life during testing on a separate Keter object. This event resulted in a power outage, auxiliary power was quickly activated, however in between powerless moments several SCP’s breached containment leading to exactly ███ onsight casualties during the breach. After the breach hundreds of D-Class personnel began to act violent until suffering a mental breakdown. All D-Class fully recovered. Due to this event researchers have concluded the thunder-like sound emitted in SCP-4396-2 events is a slow working cognitohazard that seemingly only affects those with criminal records. This hazard causes intense pain and sense of regret according to those affected. This event has sparked interest in an immediate containment attempt.
Containment Attempt 4396-1:
On April 21, 2018 Foundation personnel began construction of a cage-like, steel structure layered with noise cancelling substances around SCP-4396-1. This structure would of measured 1 km in length, 1 km in height, and 1 km in width. Construction reached 34% completion before a SCP-4396-2 event collapsed a portion of the building. Construction continued up until 56% before another SCP-4396-2 event destroyed most progress. This project was cancelled due to the repetitive nature of its construction.
Addendum 4396-3:
On ███, 2017 SCP-4396 Team A encountered a new entity emerging from SCP-4396-1 now referred to as SCP-4396-4. The entity takes the appearance of a humanoid and is composed of a high concentration of Iron and other blood material, however physically feels exactly like solid metal. The event in which SCP-4396-4 appeared occurred after an announcement of a station being settled near SCP-4396-1. Whether SCP-4396-1 created these entities in response of experimentation or the announcement is unknown. SCP-4396-4 entities approached the Mobile Research Station chanting “█████!” They surrounded the vehicle and became stagnant, they remained this way until 13 minutes elapsed. The entities then melted into a liquid similar to Mercury and began breaching into the Mobile Research Center. The liquid form of SCP-4396-4 then began entering personnel through any available orifice, moving under the skin, and then crushing them from inside before rapping over skin tissue. SCP-4396-4 entities then returned and merged into SCP-4396-1. Only 3 personnel survived this encounter and ██ died. While fleeing surviving personnel recount hearing SCP-4396-1 saying “ ██ one chance ███.” As of January, 2018 no further projects have begun, however the threat of SCP-4396 is still relevant. Researchers believe it is possible the Foundation has “angered” or “awoken” the entity.
Addendum 4396-4:
As of ██, 2018 level 3 permission must be granted in order to begin any upcoming research on SCP-4396. Data records a drastic increase of danger in SCP-4396-2 events as of 2017. SCP-4396-2 events now resemble level 5 earthquakes and SCP-4396-2’s cognitohazard begins to affect immediately. The effect has caused criminal suspects and those with criminal records to begin panicking, crying, and begin in self mutilation. Those affected in SCP-4396-2 events are now to be acquired and given D-Classification.
Addendum 4396-5:
As of ████, 2019 an interview with SCP-4396-1 was given permission to begin as of request of a Doctor Evan Manz. Permission was granted due to the re-stabilization of SCP-4396-2 events. Doctor Manz also requested that solely he would go which was also granted. The interview will begin within 2-3 months from now.
Interview 4396-1: The following is a mixture of computer documentation and audio transcripts.
Interviewed: SCP-4396-1
Interviewer: Doctor Evan Manz
Foreword: Doctor Manz traveled to SCP-4396-1's position and contacted without hindrance.
<Begin Log>
SCP-4396-1: Announce yourself before I must resort to force.
Doctor Manz: Hello.. Hello. I am Doctor Evan Manz. I don’t wish to anger you, please I swear. I understand my colleges in the past have responded with cruelty.
SCP-4396-1: My apologizes, I am ████. Chaos has destroyed balance and I must correct it. However, I fear more hostilities by you and your kind.
Doctor Manz: My kind? Like researchers, doctors, Foundation personnel?
SCP-4396-1: Indeed. Your “Foundation.”
Doctor Manz: I promise I mean no harm! I truly want to help humanity. I believe you can be a great aid to us.
SCP-4396-1: Help humanity? I’ve been shown no such thing. You and your kind willingly destroyed others in simple attempts for knowledge.
Doctor Manz: Doctor ████? What he did? I promise that’s not what the Foundation is about. As well please forgive me if I cause discomfort or anger, but what you did… To the D-Class… Etc. You tell me we are villains, what was that!
SCP-4396-1: Hold your heresy! Those pupils begged for mercy and forgiveness! I gave them exactly that for the better of our existence!
Doctor Manz: You crushed them effortlessly, how is that to better us!
SCP-4396-1: They gave themselves in a supreme contribution to our great world!
Doctor Manz: Why does this world matter to you! You’re basically a god!
SCP-4396-1: Poor child. You are blind. I merely enforce God’s will. I kept the world alive through ████ ████! I ██████ this Earth and I prevented an era of sin! For this I was blessed with power, power to maintain our holiness.
SCP-4396-1: Come.
(Edit: Doctor Manz was then transported in an unknown or possibly paranormal manner to a new location that consists of a near infinite plane of white.)
Doctor Manz: Christ oh Lord! Where have you?? My God! ████! You are ████! How in God's Green Earth!
Doctor Manz: Thank you for this! I appreciate your cooperation!
(Edit: Doctor Manz reappeared at his original position.)
SCP-4396-1: Perhaps your “Foundation” is pure of heart. Farewell
Doctor Manz: Good-day! I will show them all of your work!
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Doctor Manz leaves the area and begins to return to Site ██
Addendum 4396-6:
On ████, 2019 an incident occurred upon the return of Doctor Manz. Doctor Manz began panicking of “filth” and “sin” before bludgeoning several personnel with surrounding objects in a seeming fit of rage. Exactly ██ personnel died in the incident and Doctor Manz has been terminated. It is believed an unknown cognitohazard was encountered by Doctor Manz prompting him to engage in the violent act. This cognitohazard is presumed to be of SCP-4396-1’s descent. A public statement has been posted below.
"Please refrain from direct contact with SCP-4396-1. Leave it alone."
