The Remote And The Mind

SCP-4230-A

SCP-4230-A is a complex device with a main shape similar to that of a remote control, with additional devices with it. It seems to be a puzzle, with the reward for it unknown. SCP-4230-A parts include:

  • SCP-4230-A1: A large controller device, with a screen and large red button. When the puzzle is entered an answer, pressing the red button will tell you if you are correct or incorrect. Being wrong makes SCP-4230-B manifest. The device has one usb port, and one speaker.
  • SCP-4230-A2:A calculator on the right side of the controller. Entering a code in the calculator is part of the puzzle.
  • SCP-4230-A3:A █████ ██ TV remote on the bottom of the controller, attached with wires. It is unknown what to do with it yet, though there have been thoughts that pressing the right buttons at the same time is needed.
  • SCP-4230-A4: Half of a Simon Says game device on the left side, with parts of the game Bop It attached. These still work, and using them in the correct order is the requirement.
  • SCP-4230-A5: A ████ ██ metronome attached with wires. Setting the right BPM will cause it to light up, signalling if the BPM is correct.
  • SCP-4230-A6: An antenna from a ████ radar dish. It can be moved up and down, causing a distorted sound. It is theorized that the correct frequency will play a message.
  • SCP-4230-A7: [DATA EXPUNGED] made of [DATA EXPUNGED] and will [DATA EXPUNGED] when the user [DATA EXPUNGED].

SCP-4234-A is believed to be sentient. A face of a woman can sometimes be seen on the but SCP-4230-A is recorded to occasionally speak using the speaker. Messages include:

  • Help me, I didn't mean to, it's out.
  • I'm sorry [DATA EXPUNGED], I'm sorry…
  • I replaced it with myself for fun, expecting it to swap again. I was wrong.

Ways of communicating with SCP-4230-A are being debated, and the entity that SCP-4230-A 'swapped with' is considered to be SCP-4230-B.

SCP-4230-B

SCP-4234-B is a grey humanoid entity devoid of pigment, measuring roughly around 2.7 metres in height. It has no arms attached to its body directly. Instead, it has seven unevenly placed around its upperbody. These are almost black in colour, and don't seem to be part of SCP-4234-B's actual body. On each of the entity's shoulders, an eye, made with the same black material, sits attached with a small bit of the material beneath it. They can rotate a full 360°.

SCP-4230-B only manifests when someone enters the incorrect pattern into SCP-4234-A. It will appear in pieces (in place) for about 5 minutes, then will start walking at a moderate pace to whoever entered the pattern. It will promptly grab them by the shoulders, and disappear piece by piece, alongside the victim. SCP-4234-B seems to actually be active, and can appear on different planets (see Document 'Mars Appearance' 4234-B). However, SCP-4234-B is seen to be docile, and does everything as if it's pre-determined. Ideas have been put forward that SCP-4234-B is a machine, or an entity who can see or predict the future. These have been deemed theores and not hard facts, though.

Audio Log 4234-1

Foreword: 3 D-Class Personell were put into SCP-4234-A's containment room to solve the puzzle. Researcher Dr. Charan oversaw the test. The D-Class are referred as D-4234-1, D-4234-2 and D-4234-3.

D-4234-1: What are we supposed to do with this thing? It's just some weird… game?

Dr. Charan: It's an SCP, believe me. And you will solve it.

(a low voice conversation is heard, but is unable to be indetified)

D-4234-3: We've looked at the calculator for ages, just put 4234. It's probably just their way of toying with us.

D-4234-1: I guess that's true.

(a heavy tapping is heard)

D-4234-2: Do the metronome. See that knob? Twist it around.

D-4234-1: It's… lit up? How fast is that?

D-4234-2: About… ██ to ██ BPM.

D-4234-3: I got an idea. See the remote? Maybe we press the off button. You know, 'cuz the light?

D-4234-2: Good idea. But what about Simon Says and Bop It? (murmur) Why are they there?

D-4234-1: Eh, just do red, yellow, blue and yellow. You know, since this place looks like ██████?

D-4234-3: Right. But maybe just twist it.

D-4234-1: We probably need to take the ariel out.

(volume is distorted, static can be heard)

D-4234-1: Bloody hell. That's loud. Put it halfway. That's enough. Press the button then.

D-4234-2: What about the [DATA REDACTED]?

D-4234-3: Do you see a button? No, you don't. Dimwit.

D-4234-1: There we go. Shut up both of you.

Dr. Charan: That's probably enough now. Nothing has happened for about 10 seconds…

(a gasp is heard)

D-4234-2: There's a head. That's a head. Why is there a flaky head?

D-4234-1: It's got no arms. Wait… It does? That's not right. Let us out.

Dr. Charan: I'm sorry, D-██████, we need to see what this SCP does.

D-4234-3: (crying) P-Please. Let us out. I don't want to die. Please.

(SCP-4234-B is believed to be fully built)

D-4234-2: Go away. My God, go away. (a loud slam is heard) Get off.

D-4234-1: No. Stay away. (another loud slam) Stop it, man! It's so wrong!

D-4234-3: N-No! Stop! Pl-Please! I'm begging you! (a loud slam) Stop! Please! I don't want to!

D-4234-2: Where are my legs? Where is my body! I'm disappearing! No, stop!

(a large amount of screaming, pleading and crying is heard for about 3 minutes, then silence)

Dr. Charan: It just took them. My God. End Log.
