SCP-3593 in a bath tub

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3593 is to be contained in a 18cm by 15cm by 5cm aluminum box secured with a simple lock within Site-██'s Secure Item Storage unit. SCP-3593 is kept in room 311 which should be checked every other day for leaks. (See Incident 3593-A) Any person wishing to interact with SCP-3593 must have approval from personnel with level two or higher Security Clearance.

Description: SCP-3593 is a tan circular bath plug with the rough diameter of 15cm by 12cm by 0.3cm. SCP-3593 is made of synthetic rubber and has traces of black permanent marker.

SCP-3593 is observed to slowly become transparent, and slowly let different substances pass through it the longer it is left in water. (See Addendum 3593-A through Addendum 3593-C)

Initial Containment On ██-██-98 the SCP foundation got reports of anomalous activity happening in █12█ S ███th Ave in ███████ Arizona. On ██-██-99 Mobile Task unit ██████-4 was dispatched to ███████ Arizona to secure SCP-3593. Agent ███n Arrow successfully removed SCP-3593 from █12█ S ███th Ave. SCP-3593 arrived at Site-██ with no incident.

+ Addendum 3593-A

On █5-██-██ testing of SCP-3593 was authorized. SCP-3593 was placed in a 1ft by 6in by 6in Farmhouse Kitchen Sink and filled with water.

• After 1:04 seconds in water: 16% of light was observed to pass through SCP-3593. Human hair was observed to also be able to move through SCP-3593.
• After 3:23 seconds in water: 50.75% of light was observed to pass through SCP-3593. It was also observed to let pine bark, LEGO brand plastic, and wet cardboard pass through.
• After 3:58 seconds in water: 59.5% of light is observed to pass through SCP-3593. It was also observed to let linen, cotton, every type of non anomalous wood, and zinc pass through.
• After 4:48 seconds in water: 72% of light was observed to pass through SCP-3593. It was also observed to let AAA, AA, and C batteries as well as mammal bone tissue pass through.
• After 6:11 seconds in water: 92.75% of light is observed to pass through SCP-3593. It was also observed to let silver, magnesium, tomatoes, all forms of plastic, glass, and stainless steel pass through.
• After 6:40 second in water: SCP-3592 was observed to become fully transparent. D-11██8 was instructed to remove SCP-3592 from the sink and did so with no trouble. After the subject removed SCP-3592 she complained of slight pain in her fingers. After examination the pain was not conclusively linked to SCP-3592 as of ██-██-19.

+ [Level 3 Personnel Only] Addendum 3593-B

On █8-0█-██ follow up testing on SCP-3593 was authorized by level 3 personnel and Dr. ████ Weber. SCP-3593 was placed in a 55in by 30in by 12in bath tub along with D-██855. D-██855 was instructed to stay in place until instructed otherwise.

• After 12:41 seconds of testing: D-██855 complained of immense pain in his toes and requested to be let out. D-██855's request was denied resulting in him jumping out of the bath tub. D-██855 was promptly terminated after being apprehended.

+ Addendum 3593-C

On 01-██-██ testing on SCP-3593 was authorized by level 3 personnel. SCP-3593 was placed in a 1ft by 6in by 6in Farmhouse Kitchen Sink and filled with water.

• After 3:18 seconds in water: It was observed that copper wire, silk, and mercury could pass through SCP-3593.
• After 5:03 seconds in water: It was observed that cerium could pass through SCP-3593.
• After 7:47 seconds in water: It was observed that boron, silicon, and gunpowder could pass through SCP-3593.
• After 13:26 seconds in water: It was observed that uranium, plutonium, gold, and platinum could pass through SCP-3593.
• After 16:47 seconds in water: It was observed that hydrogen could pass through SCP-3593.

The third test on SCP-3593 was aborted to avoid any injury to staff members. All level three and above personnel were informed that all further testing on SCP-3593 was to be done with extreme precaution.

+ [Level 4 Personnel Only] Incident 3593-A

On ██-29-██ Dr. ██████ ███████ and level 2 personnel authorized testing on SCP-3593. SCP-3593 was placed in a 72in by 40in by 15in Mermaid Freestanding bathtub. After ██:██ seconds in water SCP-3593 began to let oxygen pass through itself causing rapid oxygen loss in the room. D-████ was instructed to remove SCP-3593 but could not do so. It is theorized that SCP-3593 created a vacuum seal when sucking in the oxygen. Guard █████ Olsen requested to be let out but Dr. ██████ ███████ denied the request as to limit SCP-3593's damage. Incident 3593-A resulted in the death if D-████, Guard █████ Olsen, and █ researchers.

Closing Statement: [Engineers set up a two door system to prevent SCP-3593 causing more damage. An elite engineer team was sent in and successfully removed SCP-3593 with a blow torch.]

+ Injuries Possibly Linked to SCP-3593

1 On ██-█0-9█ Jr Researcher █████ Lombardy, after sweating immensely for undisclosed reasons, handled SCP-3593 for an undisclosed amount of time. After transferring SCP-3593 to a different container Lombardy developed trigger finger in █ fingers. As of ██-██-██ Lombardy's injuries have not been linked to SCP-3593.
2 On 02-██-██ after adding a lock to SCP-3593's container engineer █████ Brooks reported stiffness of joints, joint pain, and grinding sensations in his left hand. After it was examined it was determined that Brooks had arthritis in his hand. As of ██-██-██ Brook's arthritis has not been linked to SCP-3593.
