Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX must be contained in an airtight room of at least 4x4 meters, with no windows. The entrance point to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell must have a two-stage door to reduce the risk of outside light contaminating the inside. The entity’s cell must have one specialized 300 lumen tractor lightbulb(1) directly in the center, with no obstructions. The cell must be completely empty apart from a recording device or microphone. The tractor bulb technology used to contain SCP-XXXX is rudimentary and still under development, therefore the bulb inside SCP-XXXX’s containment cell must be changed on a weekly basis, and constantly examined for degradation or damage.
To change the bulb inside SCP-XXXX’s cell, two D-class personnel are to place a 180-degree range containment bulb next to the entity, careful that they are outside the light’s range. Once it is confirmed that SCP-XXXX is under the restraint of the containment bulb, the D-class personnel are to carefully replace the hanging tractor bulb and inspect it for compromise. Once the new tractor bulb is powered on and SCP-XXXX is contained, the D-class personnel are to exit under the same caution as they entered, ensuring that no outside light is visible from the inside.
Description:
SCP-XXXX holds the appearance of a grossly disproportionate humanoid, with elongated fingers and arms, and large, clawed hands. It is approximately 2.3 meters tall. Its main body resembles that of a malnourished, mummified human, covered in leathery, dark skin of a brownish color. Its head has zero skin or muscle, giving it the appearance of a distorted human skull, but can move regardless. SCP-XXXX has 32 human teeth, with enlarged canines and an extended jaw. It has no means of swallowing or breathing, with no trachea or esophagus, yet it is able to sustain itself by unknown means. Infrared analysis indicates no body temperature, and motion-tracking equipment doesn’t detect SCP-XXXX’s presence. Since its capture, SCP-XXXX has learned to degrade the tractor bulb under which it is restrained, effectively making it more difficult to contain and changing its class from Euclid to Keter.
SCP-XXXX is a powerful entity first discovered in [redacted] and contained October 30, 2020. It is thought to originate from southern India based on drawings and folktales but has since migrated to [redacted] over an unknown period of time. SCP-XXXX is believed to be responsible for about 140 deaths and near 500 disappearances and confirmed to be responsible for 34 deaths and 152 disappearances. It is capable of manifesting from a single source of light and traveling in between light sources. SCP-XXXX is not visible or tangible in complete darkness or light above 500 lumens, but it is tangible and visible when in close proximity to a light source between 20 and 500 lumens.
SCP-XXXX has been observed pacing the small range provided by the tractor bulb that contains it. Since its capture, it screams ceaselessly, producing sounds of up to 110 decibels, so long exposure is not recommended without hearing protection. The sounds SCP-XXXX produces have been described as a “…creepy child’s scream, like in a horror movie…”. SCP-XXXX will attempt to grab anybody within its reach, this being the cause of death of multiple D-class personnel. SCP-XXXX kills its victims by holding its large hands over their mouths and noses, restricting breathing, and [redacted] so that [redacted]. In most cases, no trace is left of SCP-XXXX’s victims, but occasionally there will be small remnants left behind, such as dental fillings, blood or hair.

Anonymous Witness: Yeah, um… Whatever it is, it’s like a ghost… but reversed.
Dr. ██████: Tell me about it as if we just started the interview, for the transcript, please.
Anonymous Witness: Um… You know how some people are afraid of the dark? (Pauses) This thing… uses that, I guess. Like, instead of coming to life in the dark, it… it comes to life in the light.
Dr. ██████: How do you mean?
Anonymous Witness: Well, if someone like me was afraid of the dark, for example… (Pauses) and turned on their flashlight to see… that’s when it attacks you. You’re scared of the dark for no reason. There’s nothing there that can hurt you. But you’re still afraid. (Witness begins sweating and wringing their hands)
Dr. ██████: Go on.
Anonymous Witness: You feel unsafe, so you do the one thing that makes you feel safe in the dark; you turn on the flashlight. And that’s when it… it… (Witness begins shaking) it takes you, and it ████████████ ██████ ████████████. (Witness begins crying)
