This is a tale project by DatMonkey5100 and WhoYouCallinAPinHead, set in the Broken Masquerade canon.
The tale tells the story of a large altercation between the SCP Foundation and the People’s Republic of China. First, due to China’s displeasure of the SCP Foundations activities in the anomalous and wishes to dissolve the organization, they ambush a convoy of high-ranking foundation personnel traveling near the Chinese-Mongolian border. The hostages are taken to a Tibetan facility, where a propaganda video is sent to the SCP Foundation. An MTF unit tries and fails to rescue the hostages. Outraged by the rescue attempt, China raids several SCP Facilities within its borders, causing a containment crisis. The O5 council holds an emergency meeting in what to do and decided to fund a Taiwanese (whom they are friendly with) coup in order to at minimum distract the Chinese, if not collapse the government while bunkering down their remaining facilities. Taiwan wins, and SCP foundation operations in the region are damaged but recovering.
Far from any major cities, the convoy trailed along the desert like a centipede. The rays of the rising sun did not reflect off the matte black vehicles, one of which contained 6 personnel instrumental to Foundation operations. Just because the Masquerade was Broken did not mean stealth was unimportant.
“I’m telling you, we should start a fight club with some skips” one researcher slurred
“Let's see if that eel can kill 682,” another asked.
They had been getting boozed up for the past 6 hours in the back of the limo, and their aide questioned if they would be conscious when they arrived at their destination in about 7 more. Despite his warnings, they asked for another round.
Several miles behind the convoy, a two helicopter trailed. It had no markings, no flag, and several exposed weapons. The helicopter inched closer over the next hour, until it was about a half-mile behind, still undetected. The personnel in the limo continued to party. At the front of the convoy, a sensor was triggered. The operator picked up a radio to call command.
“Command we have an issue, the sensors are picking up an unidenti-”
He was cut short by the blast of a missile, which tore open the van and rendered it inoperable, killing most of its occupants. The rest of the convoy sped up. The helicopter did the same.
“What’s going on?” the only conscious administrator asked. Their aide picked up a radio and heard only static. They were off the grid.
Several minutes passed. There were no more explosions. Suddenly, the convoy rolled over spike strips and came to a grinding halt. The helicopter also came to a halt, as combatants clad in black battle-dress uniforms fast-roped to the ground. As this occurred, security personnel fanned out from their vehicles to defend against this threat but did not last long as they were mowed down by machine-gun fire from above. Inside the limo, the staff began to panic. Two enemy combatants came to their door, peered inside, shouted something that the occupants could not hear, and began to cut through using a laser device.
The staff crowded against the opposite side of the vehicle. One lifted the seat and grabbed a shotgun. After what seemed like an eternity, the soldiers finally finished cutting. As soon as the door was removed, the researcher with the shotgun pulled the trigger.

He muttered an obscenity. The soldiers quickly hustled all the personnel out of the limousine, placed bags over their heads, and lined them up in front of their commander. He shouted an order in Standard Chinese to his men. Each staff member felt a prick in their arm and a spreading cold before passing out. -DatMonkey
At 11:21 pm, Foundation personnel picked up movement on the captured personnel’s implanted trackers. They moved 1.6 kilometers from the facility then stopped. Investigation the next morning shows they were executed via 7.62x39mm gunshot to the head, and their bodies dumped in the mountains. The following paper scrap was found on the corpse of Senior Researcher Leviticus Morgan, one of the captured personnel.
This is fucked. We got kidnapped by those Chinese dudes- the People’s Republic of China ones I think. All we have is a bed. Just a bed. I'm even separated from the rest of the researchers. All we get to eat are two meals a day. The guards are dicks, I think. I can't understand their Chinese. Some of them speak English. I heard one of them talk about how they're gonna kill us. I hope he was kidding. I don't think he is. Tell my family I love them.
On 7/1/2020, a video was sent to the SCP foundation. The following is the recording transcript:
Three armed members of the People’s Republic of China can be seen with five hostages in front of them
Member in the middle: Your foundation has made multiple transgressions against the state and Chinese people.
A video is shown on screen of an aerial shot of the foundation attempting to control a containment breach in Shanghai
Member in the middle: We will not accept your actions! 124 innocent civilians were killed-
The member in the middle starts accidentally speaking Chinese and then abruptly stops realizing his mistake
Member in the middle: 124 innocent civilians were killed during your containment breach. Stand down or we will take further actions!
The member on the left points their gun at the hostage. The screen fades to black
At 7:08 am on 7/3/2020, Convoy-76A went offline due to an attack. Several high-ranking Foundation personnel being transported in said convoy were discovered mission upon initial site inspection. They were located using their Foundation-issue tracking implants and were held in a covert People’s Republic of China-run facility in Tibet, about 230 kilometers from Mt. Everest. Two six-man squads from MTF unit Epsilion-15 designated “Party Crashers” were dispatched to rescue the captured personnel. They arrived at the Chinese facility at approximately 10:30 pm. However, all members of the rescue team were killed in combat. Their radio log is available below for intelligence and instructional purposes below.
Unit 1-1: About 100 meters from target now. I can see the door to the compound.
Command: Copy, 1-1. We’ve tracked the signal to be coming from Level 2, Sector 5 of the compound.
Unit 1-1: I read your command, we’ve reached the helipad now, about 10 meters from the main door. The outside of the compound is clear I see a maintenance door we can use. 1-5 is going to breach now.
Sounds of wind become more distance and eventually stop, while many footsteps are heard
Unit 2-3: This is a damn long hallway…
Unit 1-1: Yea but it's taking us in the right direction, and keeping away from people
5 minutes pass. Sounds of footsteps suddenly cease. Unintelligible, distant speech is heard. After a moment, speech stops and footsteps resume. Another 5 minutes pass. Suddenly, numerous gunshots are heard and continue.
Unit 1-1: Its a trap!
Unit 2-1: I’m hit!
Unit 1-3: Watch, ‘Nade!
An explosion is heard. At this time, Units 1-1, 1-2, 1-4, 1-6, 2-1, 2-2, and 2-3 cease vital functions.
Unit 2-4: Command do you read, the enemy had a kill box set up, its a trap. I think heavy breathing, I think I'm the only one conscious.
Sounds of running footsteps are heard.
Unit 2-4: Oi, oi come here you bloody-
At this time, a gunshot is heard and Unit 2-4 ceases life functions. Over the next 30 seconds, 4 more gunshots are heard and the remainder of the units cease life functions. This is believed to be the execution of the survivors by the Chinese.
On 3/16/2021 the Taiwanese published a letter addressing the civilians, the following is the letter:
