Special Containment Procedures: All sources producing more than 10 lux are to be removed from SCP-XXXX's containment cell. Personnel entering the containment chamber are to be accompanied by two others and are to be equipped with flashlights generating 50 lux. They should only be used if SCP-XXXX becomes aggressive towards the personnel. Every 30 days, a d-class personnel is to be introduced to SCP-XXXX's containment chamber and be exposed to its anomalous effects uninterrupted.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity measuring about 2 meters in height, with most of its body being of similar proportion to the average human. Its skin presents extreme sensitivity to light, often causing irritation when exposed. Its skin is replete with purple pigmentation, has no visible hair in its body, save for long quills found along its spine. SCP-XXXX lacks any prominent exterior nose or ear structures. respectively. It has a vast cluster of human eyes along the top of its face and head, and a protruding upper jaw exposing large equine-like teeth.
SCP-XXXX is moderately intelligent, being able to understand language but with no discernable ways of communicating. It will avoid any type of light due to symptoms of irritation on the entity, getting progressively worse until leading to agonizing pain and death. Although SCP-XXXX prefers to walk in a biped manner, it will stalk and pursue its targets quadrupedally. It has occasionally been observed to climb up its containment cell's walls, which is achieved by what is speculated to be the use of van der Waals Forces. SCP-XXXX presents an attraction to any kind of sleeping, sapient creatures regardless of distance; if no nearby sapient creatures are asleep, it will pursue the closest unaccompanied or unseen sapient individuals and incapacitate them until SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects take place.
Any sapient creature that comes within 5 meters of SCP-XXXX's will be induced with hypersomnia; after three minutes of exposure, the victims will fall asleep and instantaneously enter REM sleep. After this, SCP-XXXX will force itself into the targets ear while morphing chaninging into a liquid state, it then moves through the arteries in the ear until reaching the circle of Willis. The subject will then anomalously manipulate its target's dreams, causing an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1 is a phenomenon caused by the presence of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 is a condition bearing the resemblance of regular sleep; however, individuals experiencing the phenomenon will not require any means of sustenance. People affected by SCP-XXXX-1 will experience a dream reflective of their everyday lives. The dream will be nearly indistinguishable from reality. SCP-XXXX-1 is impossible to interrupt from the outside world, and it will last indefinitely unless one of the following conditions are met: SCP-XXXX drains its target's brain, lasting approximately 2 weeks; the target dies within the dream; or the target gains awareness of their dreaming state. These will result in death, varying cerebral damage, and no discernible damage, respectively. Previous victims have claimed to see SCP-XXXX within SCP-XXXX-1, always at a distance and at a location where its features are undiscernible and will vanish if subjects attempt to approach it.
Following the drainage of a subjects brain, SCP-XXXX will regenerate any injury previously done to it. SCP-XXXX will become docile for a 2 week period before If the entity is unable to feed off a brain within 30 days of the previous infestation, it will commence to melt, eventually leaving a puddle behind. SCP-XXXX will then proceed to re-materialize within the brain of a sapient being experiencing REM sleep within an undetermined radius.
