Item #: SCP-5213 One of many
Object Class: Safe Keter REDEMPTION
Note from Dr. Simon Glass: Since the SCP-5213 incident (Incident 7/A), the O5 Council unanimously decided to dictate new and permanent containment procedures, made operative at ██/██/███. Additionally, these new procedures mean that, if you're classified as a NDR1 and you still decide to keep reading this SCP report, there's a 50/50 chance of either your heart turning into glass dust, or spontaneous combustion inside your head. Suit yourself.
Special Containment Procedures: All of the existent SCP-5213-2 that's not being used on tests or EPTT2 is to be stored inside of SCP-5213-1 instances. All of the SCP-5213-3 produced after an infection event can be safely stored in standard hermetically-sealed SCP Foundation liquid containers; a lead coating was applied to these containers as a preventive measure.
Both groups of anomalous items are to be stored inside of a lead-coated container, which is continuously cooled via liquid nitrogen to a temperature of approximately -50 °C, or -58 °F; this showed effective to reduce any activity, as SCP-5231-1 turns into a solid state. Should the temperature of the container be greater than -10 °C, specialized SCP Foundation engineers must be immediately called in order to fix or replace the cooling mechanism; hazmat suits coated with a lead nano-fiber are to be used by the engineers as a preventive measure in order to prevent any accidental contact with SCP-5213-2. You thought you could slow it down.
Living human beings (homo sapiens sapiens) and blood3 must be kept away from all instances of SCP-5213-A in order to prevent accidental infection events. Non-mammal species, both living and dead subjects, and human corpses proved safe to be close to SCP-5213-2, and when put in contact with it, no SCP-5213-3 was produced. Empty vessels
SCP Foundation personnel classified as instances of SCP-5213-B are to be monitored and put to a monthly interview by a qualified SCP Foundation psychologist. Instances of SCP-5213-B are permitted to work and have contact with fellow SCP Foundation personnel, as they didn't suppose a risk of infection, neither biological or cognitive. You thought wrong.
However, SCP Foundation personnel classified as instances of SCP-5213-B are informed they cannot leave SCP Foundation facilities for the rest of their lives (they can still request transfers), in order to prevent exposure to civilian population, as transformation after an infection event is permanent. Non-compliance and disobedience will be properly answered with discipline, and probable termination. D-Class personnel classified as instances of SCP-5213-B are to be contained in regular humanoid cells, and put to monthly psychological and physical tests. Pigs for the slaughter.
As a preventive measure, no SCP Foundation personnel working with SCP-999 is permitted to request information about SCP-5213, and they are forbidden to approach SCP-5213 facilities. SCP-999 must not be let close to any instance of SCP-5213, or vice versa. You knew it from the start.
Description: SCP-5213 is composed of two parts: SCP-5213-A and SPC-5213-B. At the same time, SCP-5213-A is composed by SCP-5213-1, SCP-5213-2 and SCP-5213-3.
All instances of SCP-5123 were found in ██/██/████, inside of a cavern in Turkmenistan, near the Caspian Sea. The Foundation was advised by a claimed member of the Children of the ████, via [DATA EXPUNGED], about an anomalous event regularly taking place close to their village. Foundation agents were
deployed to the cave and found themselves at the end of a Class-A Anomalous Ritual Event. Details and event logs can be seen in addendum 5123/2. The agents found the following items:
- Seven (7) urns filled with anomalous substance A.
- Five hundred thirty nine (539) liters of anomalous substance A.
- Two (2) milliliters of anomalous substance B.
- ██ corpses belonging to members of an unknown cult.
- █ corpses of women ranging from 7 to 49 years of age.
- Thirty six (36) artistic representations of esoteric deities, spirits, events of mass destruction, birth, reincarnation, sodomy, rape, murder, and [DATA EXPUNGED].
SCP-5213-1 is designated as the seven anomalous urns found where the Class-A Anomalous Ritual Event took place. The urns are approximately ██ cm tall, with a thick coat of a dense, black clay mixed with metallic elements (analysis showed lead, brass, bronze and silver), and each has an embedded [DATA EXPUNGED], with yet unknown purposes. Examination via laser and 3-D mapping showed that these urns are capable of holding ████ cm3 of volume, but tests demonstrated that the urns, in fact, hold much more liquid that they are capable of. Instances of SCP-5213-1 are capable of safely containing SCP-5213-2, regardless of force of impact from the liquid inside of it. The specific trait that makes this possible is still unknown, and thus it is impossible to replicate.
SCP-5213-2 is the designation given to the anomalous substance A found inside the urns. It is a dense, translucent liquid, resembling jelly or hair gel, of a red, brownish appearance. SCP-5213-2's anomalous effects are made evident when placed close to blood, or more specifically, "living, warm blood", meaning blood stored in inorganic vessels will not trigger a response, but blood inside a mammal (or flowing from its body) will do it.
When a living human being approaches SCP-5213-2 (closer than 1 meter), the liquid will enter an active state and will shake inside of SCP-5213-2, increasing in force the closer the subject is to SCP-5213-2. When any section or member of the subject (no matter if it's covered with clothes or other materials) is at 20 cm or closer to SCP-5213-2, it will move by itself in order to touch the subject, although at a rather slow speed compared to average reflexes of a human being, which makes dodging or evading any contact an easy task. If SCP-5213-2 successfully touches the skin, an infection event will occur.
Addendum 5213/1: Since instances of SCP-5213-1 were coated with a mixture of brass, bronze and lead, multiple tests were carried out in order to understand the effect of these alloys and metals on SCP-5213-2. So far (██/██/████), only lead has proved useful as a way to hide the presence of blood from SCP-5213-2, and at the same time it temporarily prevents infection in case of contact with SCP-5213-2. SCP-5213-2 will corrode the lead, and eventually reach the subject's skin if let long enough.
When an instance of SCP-5213-B experiences further traumatic events, the previously described words of comfort will unwittingly appear visible once more. Subjects report that reading these words are a tremendous psychological support for them, and it showed true as subjects that experienced [DATA EXPUNGED] were 80% less likely to commit suicide even when not given an amnestic.
Addendum 5213/2: The first infection event completely recorded was an unfortunate incident. The transcribed records of the process are the following:
Incident Victim: Agent ████, AKA Agent Triquetra.
Additional details on the incident victim: Agent Triquetra suffered from severe eating disorders as a teenager, like bulimia nerviosa, anorexia nerviosa, and binge eating disorder. Agent Triquetra fought against these disorders through hard work, psychological therapy and a strong will, eventually becoming an SCP Foundation agent after a prodigious military career. However, Agent Triquetra bore a heavy psychological trauma from these events.
<Beginning of incident>
—Agent Triquetra is inside the cave where the Class-A Anomalous Ritual Event was occurring. The camera feed shows an altar surrounded by the bodies of seven women, with instances of SCP-5213-1 filled with what appears to be their blood. The remaining six agents are checking vital signs of the women.—
— 6:21 PMHQ: Team Leader, this is HQ checking in. Do you copy?
Agent Triquetra: Aye aye, HQ, I copy. You seeing this?
HQ: Yes, Team Leader. What's the state of those women? Any immediate danger?
Agent Lidia: Boss, the women are dead. All of them.
Agent Triquetra: Shit. No, HQ, we came in late, it seems.
HQ: Unfortunate. Would it be possible for you to bring samples of biological tissue from the bodies? We'll send an specialized MTF in an hour for cleanup and recovering.
Agent Triquetra: Got it, gentlemen. Won't take too long, the "biological tissue" is everywhere. Johnson, Lidia, routine sample taking. Let's get done with this.
Agent Johnson: Everything, boss?
Agent Triquetra: Yes, whatever is inside the urns, too.—Agent Triquetra heads to an altar where the corpse of one of the women is situated. The agent takes samples of saliva, grease, skin, and blood found in the body, the altar, and the floor. There, he finds a small puddle of a black substance denominated as Anomalous Substance B, later renamed as SCP-5213-3. Eventually Agent Triquetra analyzes the urns. The agent tries to break the seal at the top of the urn. Ten seconds pass and he stops. It looks like the urn is violently shaking.—
Agent Triquetra: HQ, this is Agent Triquetra. Sample taking seems dangerous. I believe whatever is inside the urns, it ain't blood. Anomalous substance is… getting violent.
HQ: Please explain yourself, team leader.
Agent Triquetra: Every time I get close to the thing, it shakes like it's about to explode. I believe the anomalous item is not safe for manhandling, HQ. Awaiting for specialized MTF.
HQ: Copy that. MTF arriving at coordinates in 25 minu-
Agent Triquetra: Fuck, Johnson stop that. Stop that!—Agent Johnson managed to break the seal instantly, before he could be aware of the danger from the anomalous substance. When SCP-5213-2 tried to reach Agent Johnson's skin, Agent Triquetra ran and quickly pushed Agent Johnson away from the urn, exposing himself to SCP-5213-2.—
Agent Triquetra: It's eating away my clothes! Get the fuck out. Hazardous corrosive substance! BB!5 BB!
6:58 PM
—Camera feed shows the team quickly evacuating the cave, while Agent Triquetra tries to wipe his clothes from SCP-5213-2. It corrodes the worn defenses, reaching the skin in a short time. Agent Triquetra strips himself from his clothes, and uses water to clean his skin, with no effect.—HQ: Team leader, what's going on? Report immediately.
Agent Triquetra: I… I got infected with something, HQ. The urn… it contains some kind of intelligent substance. Jumped on Johnson in a fucking instant. It… it knew there was someone close of it.
HQ: Are you hurt, team leader?
Agent Triquetra: No, I… it's starting to hurt a little; in my bones, to put it in a way. But so far so good. I'll just sit here, I feel tired.
HQ: Team leader, do you copy?— Camera feed shows Agent Triquetra sitting in the floor, breathing heavily.—
Agent Triquetra: I… I feel dizzy, I feel… wrong.
— 7:08 PM
— Camera shows the MTF entering the scene, and quickly approaches Agent Triquetra for biological contamination protocols. Before they could reach him, Agent Triquetra begins to cry. MTF takes Agent Triquetra to a Biological Hazard pod on their vehicles. Camera feed ends when an MTF officer strips Agent Triquetra of his remaining belongings and burn them. —

Incident 7/A: At 09/02/████, camera surveillance showed the stored instances of SCP-5213 to shake and vibrate. At the same time, Agent Triquetra, who was sleeping at the Site █ barracks, began to scream.
Instances of SCP-5213-1 turned red hot, and eventually the embedded [DATA EXPUNGED] fragmented and pulverized, allowing SCP-5213-2 to leak through the exposed part of the urn. The stored SCP-5213-3 broke out from its containment and mixes with the SCP-5213-2 at the floor, forming a puddle of considerable size.
Mobile Task Force Epsilon-9 ("Fire Eaters") were quickly deployed to containment room, and spread fire to the puddle for a lapse of 1 hour. No effect observed whatsoever. Evacuation of Site █ was announced.
Agent Triquetra was captured and put into a human containment cell. No long after, Agent ████, who was too put through the infection event after [DATA EXPUNGED] in order to prevent suicide, began screaming in the same way Agent Triquetra did. 30 minutes after, 40% of people that experienced the infection event were under the same affliction of Agent Triquetra.
At ████ PM, the puddle of SCP-5213-2 and -3 began to raise, forming the vague silhouette of an humanoid form. Agent Triquetra and the rest of the affected personnel stopped screaming, and knelt. Not long after, seven (7) words manifested across the skin of each affected person:
1) KING.
2) FLESH.
3) KING.
4) FLESH.
5) KING.
6) FLESH.
7) KING.
The humanoid form raised to what appeared to be its arm, and pointed to what later was discovered to be [REDACTED]. How this entity knew of such location, it is unknown.
Immediately after this, affected personnel began to engage in self-harm, in order to inflict bleeding. The blood was quickly drawn to the place where the anomalous entity was manifesting, eventually mixing into the puddle. After 49 people bled themselves to death, the silhouette began to grow in size and definition.
So far, it is imperative to prevent more infection events. They are feeding the entity, allowing it to become more into existence. The urns themselves produce a little bit of SCP-5213-2 once in a while, unless they are bathed in heated acid.
So far there's no way to prevent blood to reach the puddle. No ritual or thaumaturgic process that can lessen or slow the entity. No piece of technology, anomalous or otherwise, has helped on contacting or communicating with the entity.
We can only starve it.
