Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently uncontained. Current foundation efforts are in containing knowledge of SCP-XXXX Any seismic activity produced by SCP-XXXX is to be explained by false scientific documents and any real information supressed. Foundation operatives are to be placed in several key environmental associations, specifically targeting deepwater oil drilling. Should any major drilling company attempt to breach the earth's crust they are to be immediatley stopped and any documents relating to said breach destroyed. Any transmissions produced by SCP-XXXX-A are to be monitored and censored as necessary. False transmissions are to be sent to SCP-XXXX-A stating that SCP-XXXX is in healthy condition and still in stasis.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an entity currently residing within the Earth's core. SCP-XXXX is approximated to be 1000 km long with several tentacle-like appendages extending into the mantle. SCP-XXXX is capable of influencing seismic activity by moving its appendages through the mantle, hereby known as activation events. To date, 42 activation events have occured. The rate of activation events has been increasing during the past 100 years, seemingly as a reaction to the transmissions sent by SCP-XXXX-A All have resulted in major damage and severe loss of life. In all instances where activation events have occured, SCP-XXXX was disturbed in some way. The most recent of events was caused when ████████ INC attempted to use new technology in an attempt to access new oil reserves.
This activation event caused the Mt. St. Helens eruption of 1980.
SCP-XXXX-A is an entity currently residing in orbit around the ██████ system, approximately 200 light years away. SCP-XXXX-A is estimated to be over 100,000 km long, and gains its energy from the star it orbits. For the past 100 years, SCP-XXXX-A has been sending signals to earth regarding the activation of SCP-XXXX-A. These signals have not been able to be translated, but due to their close timing before SCP-XXXX events, it is presumed that they are the primary cause of SCP-XXXX events.
