SCP-XXXX - Ptichar, Bulgaria

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]

Description: SCP-XXXX is an organic, endoparasitic entity appearing to be composed of thin, wooden branches. The entity is able to bend, break, and mend it's body indefinitely but cannot increase it's body mass or length.

SCP-XXXX in it's pre-parasitic state typically takes a humanoid form. A branch 6 feet in length bisects the entity. At 3.5 feet from the bottom of the central branch, two arm-like appendages jut out on either side. Each arm is composed of three 1 foot long segments with joints separating them. At 0.5 feet from the bottom of the central branch two more appendages just out acting as legs. These appendages are composed of two 2 foot long segments separated by a joint. The thickness of the branches ranges from 2 inches to 6.5 inches.

SCP-XXXX typically resides in remote forests on the Asian continent. The entity will search for human children typically aged 6-12 and attempt to make contact. If the child refuses contact, the entity will move on to a new target. If the child accepts the creature, SCP-XXXX will fold upon itself and burrow into the target child's skin and slowly begin replacing the target's bones below the cervical vertebrae as well as the target's spinal chord.

Addendum One

An interview with a young Naim Süleymanoğlu detailing his perspective of an animal attack during his childhood.

Interviewed: Naim Süleymanoğlu

Interviewer: Dr. Brano

Foreword: Dr. James H. Brano is undercover as local reporter Andrei Germanov.

<Begin Log, 14:05 November 12, 1983>

Dr. Brano: Good morning Mr. Süleymanoğlu. How are you feeling today?

Süleymanoğlu: Fine, sir, how are you?

Dr. Brano: Good, um, so lets get right into it. This town has seen you become an incredible athlete over the last few years so as you turn to the professional scene let's hear your story. I would actually like to begin with your upbringing. Your inspirations, motivations, and what really got you into the sport.

Süleymanoğlu: Well, how far back you want me to go?

Dr. Brano: As far back as you can remember.

Süleymanoğlu: Um… Let's see. My father is a miner and an avid hunter. He would take my brother Rahim and I hunting all the time, since I was 6 or 7. It was in those woods with my family that really made me who I became.

Dr. Brano: What do you mean?

Süleymanoğlu: Most of my time growing up, I was bullied, violently. I was, and I guess still am, small. I was an easy target. But I took it. I never stood up for myself. It seemed like it was just a fact of life.

Dr. Brano: And so the bullying is what inspired your training?

Süleymanoğlu: Not exactly. You see around the age 11 I had a near death experience on a hunting trip. My brother and I were tracking a bear near the edge of the forest. It crept into the trees and we lost sight. I was motivated at this point and decided to follow into the woods with Rahim close behind me. I heard a rustling in the bushes and BANG my gun fired and I was out cold.

Dr. Brano: Did the bear attack you?

Süleymanoğlu: Yeah, lunged at me from the bushes. I was out cold for 15 minutes. Rahim managed to scare it off before it could do much more harm to me. After that, I felt different. I felt stronger. From then on, there was always this voice in the back of my head telling me how great I was.

Dr. Brano: Wow, very inspirational.

<Dr. Brano's cellphone begins to ring>

Dr. Brano: One moment please, It's the publisher. Can we take 5?

Süleymanoğlu: Sure.

<End Log, 14:16 November 12, 2005>

Closing Statement: Süleymanoğlu took a lunch break while Dr. Brano took the call.

Autopsy Report

Office of Medical Examiner
at SCP Foundation Site [REDACTED]

Examiner: Dr. James Holtz Brano
Date of Examination: Novemver 26, 2017 3:29 pm
Name of Deceased: Naim Süleymanoğlu
Age of Deceased: 50 yrs
Sex: M
Weight: 102 lbs

Post-Mortem Examination

Cause of Death: Edema
Note: Severe brain hemorrhages, fluid has filled the entirety of the body, including spinal space, skeletal space, and lower portion of cranium.

External Observations: Patient has severe scarring and discoloration along spinal chord. An inch in diameter hole is observed in the inside of the patients left bicep.

Internal Observations: After cutting open the patient, I found no bone matter to be present. Empty space exists between muscles and spinal chord. These spaces have filled with blood and other bodily liquids causing edema. Further inspection of the brain reveals that it resembles a brain of a cadaver killed 35-40 years ago. Unusually, all other organs are in line with reported date of death. Brain stem of patient is missing. Large holes into the brain of the patient are present in alignment with where the spine and central nervous system should be.

Conclusion: The patient, though with organs functioning till date of death, has been dead for decades. The current state and missing parts of the brain show no sign of having living cells within the last 35-40 years. Between time of death and current examination, weight of patient has decreased by about 15%, most likely due to lack of bone matter.
