Item #: SCP-5324
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5324 is to be kept in a box in a 5x5m concrete room at
Site-074. No electrical devices should be near SCP-5324's containment chamber in a 10m radius as if testing is ongoing, it might interfere with other important devices. All level of personnel except D-class are allowed to enter it’s chamber and interact with it, although it is not recommended to do so.
Description: SCP-5324 appears to be a normal cat bell. It is colored golden. It is 2 centimeters in width and 4 centimeters in height, counting the ring attached to it. SCP-5324 turns the person holding it into a cat when it is rang, the effect only affects the person who physically rang it, it does not affect people who heard the ring. The subject only transforms if the bell emits a ring sound if it is only shook around slightly, it does not have this effect.
SCP-5324’s origins are unknown. It is still unknown how the SCP-5324 got into the hands of the foundation,
but personnel reported seeing cats around the facility, although not really minding it they reported it, by the time the SCP was contained, 6 personnel turned into cats, those cats being ████. Eventually, the bell has been confirmed as the cause of all the cats, getting a D-class transport it to it's containment chamber.
The subject that rang the bell emits a blinding white light from their body, how it is done is not yet known, and shuts down any electrical device in a 10 meter radius for the duration of the transformation, the cause of this is also unknown for now, making it impossible to observe the transformation. The subjects when turned into a cat, are capable of speech and have the memories of the person turned into the cat, acting like a human but also as a cat. All of the subjects show signs of distress when they realize they turned into a cat, going into a panic attack, they are to be calmed down through any means.
The time it takes for the subject to transform into a cat, varies with age, only 4-6 seconds for a person below 20, and 8-10 above 30. The breed of the cat varies with the ethnicity of the subject (See log of tests) The subjects also possess traits such as: Laziness, meowing when they are annoyed or want something, improved vision in the dark, agility, allowing them to be able to get to places normal cats can, such as shelves and pushing smaller objects around whe bored. Ringing it with a machine resulted in all electrical devices nearby shutting down for 10 seconds.
