Dr. Thorne

A woman with a trace of darkness about her made her way down to the control room and pulled out her keycard. She set it on top of the control panel and assessed the results, then activated the generator's artificial intelligence so it would adjust as needed to power the site. The blindfolded woman, blind in general, with a deep breath, typed in the code. Power returned to that half of the site.

Something that stood behind her revealed it's self in the flicker of light. They raised their gun to the back of her head.

Tendrils of coldness stretched from its home within her back and took him by surprise. The man in black felt a cold wrap around his legs, screamed, and was dragged into her shadow, a blackened dark void. Testing their strength on a few swings toward the walls. They retreat into shadowy stillness once more. Dr. Thorne rose and pulled a stray hair from her bob cut in front of her face, back behind her ear.

She murmured under breath,"…May you rest in peace."

Agent Turner barely made it behind a fallen table. His mate, his only love in this place, was nothing more than a bloody pulp. He himself felt a sense of cold and the ooze of blood filling his boot, and a reeling wave of lightheadedness, but little pain. They had him completely enclosed and he regretted looking up. Agent Turner saw a long tendril. A downwards decreasing spiral-sliced an enemy's head clean off.

A form melted from the shadows right before his eyes. The petite woman who materialized out of the shadows wasn't what he expected. Her faultless characteristics were unremarkable, her red, deep eyes move to the next victim faster than his. A man in black is the only one in a position to see a tendril of shadows. He falls into a great mouth and is chewed in half. Eyes and teeth form in the shadows making them blacker. The walls are overgrown by vicious vegetation with thorns up to 5 inches long.

the men are

"What—What are you!?"

"Forgive me…"She confessed sincerely and softly as she raised her badge," I am Doctor Thorne, an occult specialist."

"A doctor— You are more like a monster!"

"…monsters: the patron saints of imperfection… humans are also known for thier faults. So… What monsters are we?"

"How am I supposed to answer that?"

Dr. Thornes gaze wandered away in reflective thought."I don't need to answer that question because that's not the issue."

"But you just killed someone weaker than you…"

"It was just the reality."She said dusting off her black dress, it was like a shadow, idle and listless." Whether I was weak and he was strong was not my fault and only severs hope that we can coexist within reality with each other. The same applies here. Now, can you stand??"

"I can… why?"

Runes flash around her feet, "I shall be down there, I shall do whatever it takes to save who I can."She vowed, hand over her heart in a sort of promise." Your men did not die in vain…" she disappears into a black smoky haze.

"I-I'm Researcher Peece! I just so happen to of gotten lost…"

"With an SCP in your hands? I hope that you are returning it…"

"I am! To the X Wing!"

They waited in tense silence.

"I'll assume by your silence you're still not talking," Dr. Thorne said.

"Oh wow. Whatever could you mean?" the half Japanese woman says nervously.

"I am well aware of much of the structural areas of this site… and there is no X Wing."

"I meant the V Wing…"

Dr. Thornes's head shakes, "I'm sorry… but that SCP doesn't belong there…"

"I work on a different side of the site, in the Occult department."

"Is that so? Because I am head of the department, and I do not recall you on my personal roster…"

Allison lept back, on guard, knowing she's been caught, "You are? Damn this! I should've known!"

"I lied. I'm not the head of the department."

"You bitch."Allison Ciao drew a pistol and quickly made a break for it out of the office areas archway a curled tendril unwraps its swirl. Bullets clink to the ground, the appendage returns to the ground, and she walks on unscathed. Dr. Thorne scanned the room, but didn't spot her. Suddenly, the place between her eyes spits a long streak of blood on the wall and ceiling. A bullet hole steamed and Allison becomes uncloaked in her suit.

"Sorry, this is just business." about to leave she suddenly heard movement from behind and spun around. Dr. Thorne with the same unchanging smile with which she had first entered the room—the smile of a perfectly beautiful woman.

"What!? No! That was point-blank!"

"And a very good attempt… however you might find your progress in killing me stunted…"

The sky began to dim from sunset, and she played with the magic, adrenaline speeding the power's flow through her. The utter focus her body gave off made her tattoos red hot. A surge of airwaves distorts all around. The room could no longer hold its shape. As she chants," crowned with thorns, the feet must not tread upon roses…" The red afterglow bent the walls. Twisted the legs of the chairs. As that breeze traveled through the door of the room, Allison jumped out of the doorway of a fiery blast. Shortly after the fire burned down, she stared at the ashes, the doorway and area in its hallway outside were burned to a crisp. Allison's body was quartered and burned on its left arm.

Allison activates her suit and goes invisible. A black flash of magic flew from Dr. Thorne to her, and the black-haired woman smashed into the back wall. "As wrong as the decision was, your suit can't disguise the lack of fundamental skills…" The shadows around formed tentacles. Appendages that lashed out and slice around. More sprout out in the thick of her escape attempt fleeing and move fast.

Allison runs along and under lashes of feelers; she throws off her burnt lab coat, some skin comes off and she winces. She fired rounds back at the woman. Dr. Thorne was struck through the head and chest. Her body collapses and dissipates. Tendrils pulled her from the inky puddle of blackness and mended her body. The tendrils turned sharp and deadly like a knife and gave a series of lashes. Walls now have cuts and floors have scars.

"How are you doing this!?"

"My magic is that of the forbidden…"Dr. Thorne answers," It's my curse, and sometimes, my blessing." Dr. Thorne explained, touching the headband that blocked her unseeing eyes.

"Why not just join the GOC instead? I'm sure they would be happy to have a wizard of your caliber."

"I doubt that they run out of supply so easily. The relentless pressure for self-destructive performance, Issues of trust, and an overall irresponsibility mindset run rampant among them, more so than the foundation. I also can not jeopardize my families well being. In short, thier cause is too non-reliant on self-preservation."

"But they are more technologically advanced."Allison said pushing a hip out in a pose in her suit."Look at this, ever see this in your, "Foundation?"."

"Can't say I have. On the other hand, your most possibly going to take that suit and run, aren't you?"

"Hmmm…" Allison smirked and stood, "That actually sounds like a good idea…"

"But it is better with ones with eyes for the future. My younger sister may enjoy it. I will take it from you so she could have entertainment."

"Really? Then how about when I'm done with you I-"

Beneath her flames, Dr. Thorne's hair shifts as if caught in the blue thermal draft of her pyre of power. She tested the wrap of her fist, felt the muscles lock into place.

"…should you ever harm those I love!"

Without mercy, a half-dome of ice erected its self out of nowhere, over in front of Allison and behind. Now surrounded; Behind and around Dr. Thorne, hovering in the air, shards of ice started to form a glistening wall of daggers. Allison's wrists and knees were bound together by spontaneously formed shackles of ice.

"You are coming with me now."

Allison grapples with her bounds when her touch becomes electric, the shock overloaded the ice into scraps and shards. Allison then leaps to the wall, through a dilated portal she put there by tossing a metal cube.

"…Next time," Dr. Thorne said," don't count on your luck holding forever."

Wings descend and elevate the body, extensions of the purest white light stretched out. Enoch flew around the site that hugged the mountainside. He spotted a few armed guards in a fight with an enormous Zed, the mutated, bloated thing swatted a man of the roadside cliff with its huge meaty hands. Enoch swoops down for a nosedive and catches him.

Man in his arms, wings beats unleashed sharp gusts of wind. Some Zed tumbled off the ledge where they crammed together. A trail of wind blades tracked the Zeds trajectory as they rushed to him. They where all cut into fractions.

Enoch lands, guns are lifted in caution.

"Stand down, I am on your side."He showed his badge, inches from the soldier's face.

"From what I witnessed… I never thought you’d defend me," Captain Kris managed through teeth clenched in pain.

"I do what I am obligated to do, and that’s all that should concern you,"

The gash in his arm wetted Captain Kris's hand in blood," Shit our barriers about to be broken!"When the fog rolls in, what comes with it is an undead horde of zombies.

He retrieved one sword from its white void, flipped it in the air, and caught the blade. "Begone!" As he spoke, strode toward zed."Come on hurry up! Bring on Death!" He slid the sword through the zombified woman's gullet and released her. He whirled, slashing down someone with a sword. At his accession spectators were struck by the fearless manner in which he fought. Then the sword bent towards the earth, the sky darkened, thunder pealed, lightning flashed, an unexpected heat jarred all undead to their core, and the earth beneath their feet shook violently enough to chatter teeth. Tongues of flame stabbed the sky. A big crack opened and they fell through. Stones got loose and came down with them. The flames now died down and were lost in the black smoke.

With lightning speed, Enoch moved in close, kicking one of the zeds legs out from under him. An arc of lightning left Enochs’s hand and slammed another into the rock walls to thier left. A brilliant bolt struck down from the sky. Captain Zen ducked at the sight of the purple lightning, stunned when Enoch caught it midair and flung it back towards the horde of zed. They shake and then blink in and out with electricity. Charred bodies lay at the Mobile task forces forefront.

Missiles sound like missiles, explosions like explosions, and a 30-foot strafing mech sounds like a 30-foot strafing mech. With the hydraulic hiss and creek of its walking legs, it's approach becomes robotic, mechanistic. Mounted turrets for its hands glow in the barrels. Red dots over the crosshair and a beep indicating that retrorockets are locked.

"Oh, the devil!" exclaimed Enoch angrily, and showing his teeth he gnashed his teeth, and again rose and bounded forward. A wing bounces the shots and the other extends to shield the innocent MTFs. Brilliant white hues bounce light so the raw energy coursing within his body becomes charged. Orbs of light coming off the landed Plasma beam rotate, speed, bounce up or slow down at random times shining rays through the backs of the Mech and the ones coming after it.

Explosions ripped the ground from beneath the remaining 10 mobile task force embers and blinded them. More tiny explosions came, and he twisted to see what they were.

"Take it all the way, baby!"A wigged woman cheered. Dr. Roses gun's explosions create cavities, as bombs excavate bomb craters."Eat this!"

"What the hell— who is that!?"Cried lieutenant Fringe, who with the other 10 watches as Flames of ball fire rain down-solid globs continuously from the sky on to remaining Zed. He actually had to order his troops to tramble around in the sand to squelch the fires before they spread into enormous fields of fire. All Zed was killed precisely. Dr. Thorne snaps her fingers and clears the skies. Masses of flames extinguish all at once.

"Well?" Says Enoch," Is everything clear? An update, please."

Dr. Rose responds sorry that the fun is over."…Yeah. I guess." she sighs.

Dr. Thorne stood with her hands on her lap."The enemies have retreated."

"What of the casualties?"

"77. The ones that survived count to about 289," says Dr. Rose.

"As if things were complicated enough, "He studied her over the rim of his glasses, and his eyes warmed with a smile."You are covered in blood."

"Oof, I made a mess! Nothing a good shower can't fix!"

Enoch smiled confidently and patted her hair."It is still disgusting."

"Knock it off! Then don't touch me! You'll make my wig fall off!"

Dr. Thorne walks her self over to the in awe members of the security dispatch and mobile task force members."Is everyone alright?"

"W-who are you people!?"

Dr. Rose spun around and gave a hearty wave."Hi! Don't worry you're all safe now!"

Beyond a nearby mountain range, lights and explosions lit up both the sky and the air between earth and sky.

"What now!?"

At training area 56, Cain runs along walls or bounces back and forth between different areas, dodging missiles and plasma rounds. Of course, it would destroy the enemy, but his tactic was escaping. The two trees whose girth had been small enough for him wrap his arms around had expanded in width and height, reaching towards the gray sky. Their massive roots ruptured the ground that had been the trail, creating a ravine he could see even from their safe distance. Men fell in. The Earth closed,
circular runes rotate into existence up in the space and air behind him. An incredible sixteen thousand blue flaming arrows were let fly. The Mechs were taken down even taken apart as the fire spread through their insides. Measured scraps blew in all directions.

"Please…"Cain breathed. Rubbing his shoulder the sudden heaviness reminded him of just how long it's been since he's fought like this."No more…"

"Yo!"Dr. Rose called out and ran up to him merrily, leaving Enoch and Dr. Thorne to follow."Are you okay?!"

"No. They attempted to capture me — they would've gotten ahead if I didn't fight back…"

"You did!?" spoke Dr. Rose." not that I'm surprised, but… You should take it easier next time."

Enoch arrived simultaneously with Dr. Thorne looking around at the disorder, then back at Dr. Rose and Thorne sternly, "You two said there were no more."

Dr. Rose moved her shoulders in together in embarrassment."Oops sorry… but hey! We won!"

"Our attacks should have taken out all nearby enemies…" said Dr.Thorne,"…most are tailored to avoid friendly fire." Dr. Thorne explained after she stepped in the conversation," In conclusion, they must have had 073 in their custody."

"They had me, "Cain confirmed."During so, I learned why they came, it was for me, apparently," he says.

"Good thing they didn't."Said Dr. Rose."We should head back inside…"

"Let's bring you back into the site before your effect begins to take place in the environment," said Enoch.

Cain nods."Very well. This fight has left me tired."

The End
