Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Contained within a large and opaque jar. The jar is required to be at least 23 mm wide in order to safely contain SCP-XXXX. If removed from the jar take precautionary action to avoid visual contact with SCP-XXXX.
Description: A pair of full dentures. When it is not being worn it secretes a liquid which keeps it well moisturized. The liquid's composition changes slightly in often occurrences. It has been concluded that the liquid is common to the make-up of an average person's saliva.
It seems that at sight of SCP-XXXX any individuals will fall into a psychotic state. In each case of this mental breakdowns, the individual will attempt to remove their own teeth. If the individual is able to sustain themselves after removal of their teeth, they will also attempt to put on the dentures. They seem to remain in this psychotic state of mind. It seems that nothing can remove them from this state. Removing the dentures from sight only has seemed to cause more irritation in subjects.
After applying the dentures, many subjects will disturbingly scream/cry as their jaw is broken. It is currently unknown as to whether this is caused by force from SCP-XXXX or the individual.
SCP-XXXX does not seem to ever visually change size nor shape but fit within a variety of mouths. There have not been any known instances in which the wearer can remove the dentures themselves after wearing.
Similar psychotic symptoms are displayed even if subjects observe SCP-XXXX through video footage. Yet, individuals will not experience any of this when looking at a picture.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in the home of an elderly woman in 1992. No records of SCP-XXXX were found any time prior. The dentures were discovered after the grandchildren of the woman visited the house to discover she was missing. Both grandchildren died due to, what we assume to be, the SCP-XXXX's effects. The elderly woman has yet to be found.
