Special Containment Procedures:
If and when SCP-XXXX-1 is encountered, it is to be approached by an agent or researcher that has passed a mental fortitude and resistance to memetic anomalies evaluation with a score of at least 80%, and who is presentably dressed and groomed. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be spoken to in a soft, non-threatening and polite manner. If the conversation requires it, it responds to the name “Misery”. Should SCP-XXXX-1 offer resistance, verbal or otherwise, it is to be informed that its mother has asked for it to be taken into custody in an appropriate manner.
Once taken into custody, SCP-XXXX-1 is to be escorted to the same facility where SCP-999 is currently being contained. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be provided with a standard humanoid containment unit, furnished for the needs of a 10 year old girl, or in a fashion to which SCP-XXXX-1 responds positively, secluded at least 30 meters away from any other SCPs, except for SCP-999, for residence and be allowed access to a cafeteria, children’s playroom, an interview room and the corridors between said facilities and its containment unit. The designated facilities that SCP-XXXX-1 is allowed to access must also be at least 30 meters away from any other SCPs, except for SCP-999, and any personnel that has not passed a mental fortitude and resistance to memetic anomalies evaluation with a score of at least 80%.
If SCP-XXXX-1 wishes to tour the facility outside of its designated access granted area, it is to be persuaded against it, but in the case of failure to persuade it, it is to be paired with SCP-999 for any any all activity outside of its designated access granted area.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to have at least one agent or researcher, that meets the appropriate criteria for interacting with SCP-XXXX-1, with it at all times, except for its resting cycles in its containment unit, which is to be kept under constant surveillance, using hidden cameras, except when SCP-XXXX-1 is performing hygienic activity or relief of bodily waste. Personnel that do not meet the appropriate criteria for interacting with SCP-XXXX-1 are to not be allowed within a 30 meter radius around it, except for the purpose of testing, which must first be approved by a researcher with Level 4 clearance.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be provided with one D-Class personnel every two weeks to feed on. Should SCP-XXXX-1 insist on still being hungry after feeding and requesting more food, it is to be informed that its mother has instructed for its current dietary schedule to be maintained as is. The subject is to also be provided with entertainment in the form of sheets of paper, drawing equipment, polite playmates for its time in the playroom, recordings of tests during which test subjects experience immense trauma or death and, if possible, the opportunity to observe tests in which test subjects may experience immense trauma or death. None of the latter two provisions is to be used when SCP-999 is around, for its comfort.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be arranged at least one two hour long play session with SCP-999 every day during its confinement, in order for facility maintenance and oversight to take place without any potential hindrance.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be prevented from having an outburst of rage at all costs. Should an outburst become imminent, or if Foundation personnel has lost control over SCP-XXXX-1, any capable personnel must shout out the following phrase: "Dark mistress of death and night, take away the misery that is our plight!" At which point SCP-XXXX-3 will appear, asses the situation and if all of the criteria regarding SCP-XXXX-1's containment have been met, it will resolve any damage that SCP-XXXX-1 has caused and then take it away, by simply vanishing into thin air.
The phrase must be shouted out as simply saying or whispering it has no effect.
The phrase is to not be used under any other circumstance.
Any recorded data, be it in audio, video or pict format, that has captured intimate exposure of the subject, is to be immediately deleted. Anyone who has observed or heard any such data is to be provided with appropriate amnestics in order to have the data in question erased from their memory.
If SCP-XXXX-1, 2 and 3 are all encountered together, they are to be approached by an agent or researcher with Level 3 clearance that has passed a mental fortitude and resistance to memetic anomalies evaluation with a score of at least 80%, maintaining constant live communication with Foundation control, who may try to interview the subjects for information, or attempt to barter with SCP-XXXX-3 for assistance in Foundation operations, but only after approval from or under the orders of an O5.
Description:
SCP-XXXX-1 appears as a ten year old human girl, most commonly encountered wearing Victorian era Gothic styled dresses, with pale skin, purple hair and feline ears, rather than human ones. The subject's limbs are skeletal, lacking any type of flesh, including ligaments and tendons, but are still able to function normally despite that.
Whenever SCP-XXXX-1 experiences any mood other than joy and anger, it, unknowingly, exudes what can be described as an aura of misery, which causes any living thing, including AI, within a 30 meter radius around itself to begin experiencing a negative moodswing that develops into one of three stages.
Stage 1: Upon entering the area, individuals will begin feeling unmotivated, describing a slight sense of sadness creeping over them. This stage is maintained in up to ten minutes of exposure. The effects of Stage 1 are reversed within five minutes of leaving SCP-XXXX-1's range of effect, or after SCP-XXXX-1's mood is changed to one that no longer causes the effect.
Stage 2: As exposure continues past the ten minute mark, affected individuals will transition into demoralization, vocalized grief and nihilism. Reaching the final boundary of Stage 2 takes 8 minutes after completing Stage 1. The effects of Stage 2 are reversed within half an hour of leaving SCP-XXXX-1's range of effect, or after SCP-XXXX-1's mood is changed to one that no longer causes the effect.
