Area near SCP-XXXX's cave

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The interior of the room containing SCP-XXXX is to be lined with at least 2 layers of RF shielding fabric to block low wave frequencies from reaching unauthorized foundation personnel. A keycard reader, along with 2 security guards, are there to ensure only personnel with level 2 access or higher have permission to enter SCP-XXXX’s containment. Unauthorized personnel caught trying to gain entry to SCP-XXXX’s containment are to be detained and await judgement from an on-site administrator.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a locked oak wood chest lined with polished gold measuring approximately 1 meter in length and weighing around 25Kg; The object was found to be emitting Low Frequency (LF) waves that could be read using a shortwave radio. SCP-XXXX seems to be almost impervious to damage and impossible to open without the use of a key not currently available to the foundation, forcing the use of both MRI and X-Ray scans to revel its contents. These scans have discovered that the object contains a single coin with the face of a Greek deity imprinted onto it, now to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1; SCP-XXXX-1 seems to be the source of the LF waves being emitted from the chest, typically vibrating these waves at a frequency of 1,600Khz with a range of 1Km.

SCP-XXXX came to the foundation’s attention on █/██/19██ after multiple reports of a strange radio signal being emitted somewhere near the Acheron river in Greece began popping up. After the foundation took control of the area, investigations confirmed the radio signals were being emitted from SCP-XXXX after it was located in a cave found in between [REDACTED] and the river. Class B amnestics were administered to the individuals who reported the signals and the object was relocated to site ██.

Observations have discovered that SCP-XXXX-1 is sentient and will respond to questions asked about it, however, it only speaks in Latin so this has to be translated to understand what it’s saying. The object will make constant references towards Greek culture and claims that it is the mythological god, Zeus. (Refer to Interview Log XXXX 1).
