Object Description:
SCP-XXXX is a handheld AM radio with an analog display, broken leather strap, and an extendable antenna on a swivel. On the back of SCP-XXXX is written “If found return to Reed. [illegible] Lynnwood, WA.” The radio takes 4 type C batteries, but may also be powered by any 6V power adapter.
SCP-XXXX has 3 known frequencies which produce anomalous effects while powered.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the voice of a tenor male with a mid-western accent that recites lines from Christian scripture, using the Revised Standard Edition. No specific pattern to the passages chosen has been noticed, but subjects who listen to the channel report a feeling of terror or guilt and experience panic attacks, however, the effect stops when either the channel is changed, or the radio is powered off. Further psychological testing on subjects is needed.
