Item #: SCP-████
Object Class: Safe.
Special Containment Procedures:
Subject must be contained within a special cell capable of neutralizing outgoing radio frequencies (between 56 KHz and 137.6 GHz), the exact, recommended ratio of distance to RF insulation can be found in the attached documents.
For containment purposes, a copper box inlaid with iron sheets as small as the subject's size (22 inches by 6) is enough, but for experimentation, it is mandatory to use a room that abides by the above specifications.
Personnel to come into contact with SCP-████ must follow the criteria below, depending on the exact number of living creatures within its range (which is assumed to be 68.8 feet or the secure cell's area, whichever is lowest) :
[1] : Level 2 clearance and up, no mental screening, personnel and subject are harmless.
[2] : Level 3 clearance and up, personnel must first pass Dr. [EXPUNGED]'s mental test for aggressive impulses, alternatively they are required to have had training or protection against mental manipulation.Mental screening mandatory.
Under no circumstances should more than two living beings be within range of the subject, should this occur specialized personnel must neutralize the wielder of SCP-████ from outside said range.
The survivor(s) of one such 'incident' must be submitted for mental screening immediately.
Description: SCP-████ is a Sumerian Kopesh sword measuring 22 inches in length by 6, its blade has a color and molecular composition akin to Corundrum (Al2O3) but is organic in nature, just as the inlaid decoration, which is remarkably similar to Electrum but is still organic.
The hilt is made of leather, DNA samples show a molecular structure alien to regular life on earth but that shows remarkable similarities to █████ DNA.
The subject was originally found by grave robbers during an excursion in Ur-Nungal's tomb in 19██.
Task force [Expunged] had been deployed to recover and contain the SCP, however, the unsafe amount of living beings triggered an 'incident': only lieutenant [EXPUNGED] survived the mission and, while the subject is now safely contained, [EXPUNGED] has been dismissed due to mental trauma.
The subject's main way of interaction is through the emission of RF waves, the sole purpose of which seems to force living being to kill each other using the subject itself.
The waves have been categorized into three groups :
[Type A : 56 KHz] Subtle RF of this wavelength are constantly emitted by the subject and are meant to enforce negative sensations in its targets, increasing pain sensitivity, giving the illusion of mild hunger, stress, and fatigue, dramatically increasing aggressiveness as a result.
The effect of type A waves seem to worsen with exposure and, most importantly, reflects off neural systems which then broadcast their own copy of the signal, as such the effect worsen not linearly, but exponentially with the number of living beings within range.
Further experiments show the effect on nonsentient beings is negligible and the effect on nonsapient beings is much diminished.
[Type B : 137.6 GHz] This kind of wavelength is orders of magnitude greater than the previous and is only emitted once a trigger causes an 'accident'.
We shall define a trigger as an action that occurs when the aggressiveness of a victim of the SCP explodes into an act of violence, be it something lesser like a shove or something major as an actual assault.
Whatever the trigger, the subject combines this type of wave with the natural response of living beings under attack to cause a cascade of violent reactions until the situation degenerates in a fight to the death.
The wave itself seems to do little other than to burst increase adrenaline and testosterone production but survivors have admitted having felt 'extreme pleasure' during the fight.
Type B waves cease once the wielder of SCP-████ is the only target within its range.
[Type C : Unknown wavelength , Possibly sight based] The subject showcases other effects that cannot possibly be originated by waves A or B, these other impulses seem to operate on completely different wavelengths and are strongly memetic in nature.
Firstly the wielder of SCP-████ seem to be immune to the effects of waves type A as long as he is the only living being in range, positively enforcing his desire to kill all other living beings.
Secondly, all victims within range of an incident receive a potent memetic suggestion, becoming convinced SCP-████ is their best way to survive the encounter, even if they are near an escape route or if they are armed with functioning firearms.
As such the wielder of the subject will never let go of it unless forced, at which point all victims will attempt to seize control of the subject.
Thirdly, the wielder of SCP-████ becomes convinced he is invincible as his sense of pain is almost entirely suppressed and reaction time has been proved to improve off an order of 160 to 230% but only while type B waves are active.
Lastly, SCP-████ imparts upon the wielder the apparent knowledge of a variety of fighting styles that mostly leave the target's consciousness once he ceases contact with the subject.
Although long periods of contact (1 days, 14 hours, 13 minutes) leave the target with clearer knowledge this is unadvisable due to mental health complications.
Addendum: The fighting styles initially were a blend of Sumerian swordplay, Akkadian wrestling, and liutenant [EXPUNGED]'s CQC training.
Further experimenting with this functionality yielded poor results, indicating the subject requires an 'incident' and victims before it can redact its library of fighting styles.
This aspect hasn't been experimented with further for obvious reasons and SCP-████ is currently safely containted within facility [EXPUNGED].
